A NEW DAY.......
She was lying there as still as the dead..her white skin was pale and her eyes were staring at him with delusion….who are you? She said..and he was jolted both by her voice and her question…wacko wacko he said excitedly…about to reach out and enfold her but she moved away with fright and apprehension…yuvi saw her scared eyes and he froze…wacko he said only to be interrupted by the doctor…
Mr. Dev…I need to talk to you…. "Mr Dev..he said once they were in his cabin…she's suffering from a very deadly and uncurable disease called ALZHEIMER'S….it's a disfunctionality of the brain where the patient is unable to recollect anything…all parts of memory are completely wiped put and nothing remains but a blank slate…Yuvi looked at the doc with white eyes but the serious look on his face told uv that the doctor was dead serious and that it wasn't some weird and wacko joke played on him. He sat in the hospital corridor for hours…just crying helplessly…everything seemed so bleak and desperate… the uncertain future hung over him and he thought about his world without her…his mind protested strongly…no, there ws no life without her. He straightened up..his thought process now getting clearer…his resolve strengthening..he had to make sure that his ashi was still there…he couldn't lose so easily…he had to fight…that was what she had always taught him everyday…not by her words…but by her actions…now he was going to do the same…he would fight for her…whatever it took
He went back to her and she stared at him with a blank look…that look of unrecognition and detachment gnawed at his heart he realized that he was losing his ashi..he gulped down his tears and said... "hi I am yuvi…"
"um um hi I am..i am…I am.." she looked at him frantically trying hard to remember her name but al she got was a blank spot of grey..she panicked and started shouting and howling, "DON'T HURT ME! He wants to kill me…hes a monster and he would kill me please take him away!!!" she said hysterically crying like a two year old. All yuvi could do was stand outside and watch her being injected to sleep…he had never felt so helpless before….
He went out and sat on the bench..the moon was a full, the wind was breezy and all he could do was gaze back into the glorious past which he had shared with her…
"Duh-huh tumhare head main kya lizard ke ande bhare hai…pata nahi tumhare brains hibernation se kab wapas aayenge…tumhe kissy ne bataya hai ki tum ek pyschopathetic he man ho jo apne daddy ke bina kuch nahi kar sakta…yuvi kahaan ho main baba aadam ke zamane se tumhara wait kar rahi hun..yuvii..yuviii..psychoooo!! I love you!!!"
All he could hear was her voice shouting and reaching out for him…..
He wiped his tear and tried to erase the growing hollowness and empty desires…destiny had betrayed them…it was very evident that ashi would not be able to recover from this unseen enemy…she was fading from the world…just like her memory was fading away…
'I have to get her back….I have to…I don't care what happens…I will get her back!!!" he thought desperately.
He finally realized what he had to do. It was upto yuvi to keep ashi alive in his heart and in her soul…yes..he pledged…with desperate determination… my ashi..she was so full of life…so unique….i won't let her fade away in the gloom of ignorance….we would fight with this too wacko..i know your spirits are still the same…just let me hold your hand and we would cross these dark hours of night…we will fight this too!
You have to come back wacko…just have to come back for me….
And with this pledge, he managed to conquer three months of despair and now she knew she was called Anvesha and Yuvi was her newest friend who was as lonely and sad as herself coz he had lost his love…his soulmate Ashi…she empathized with him and was even grateful for his company in her solitude…..
And one fine day…she was watching Tom & Jerry and was giggling and shrieking with excitement…yuvi was overjoyed with her enthusiasm, "He said…poor tom….that jerry really is unfair to him. Ashi smirked at him, "Oh hello mr kam akal wale….that lunatic tom is the one who always irritates and annoys jerry..usse bolo apne brainless duh-huh head main thode grey cells paida kare and for bhaggu's sake ask that idiot to leave jerry alone..got it….mr nakli heman?". She stared angrily at uv….
Yuvi was shocked and stunned..he couldn't believe that in three months this was the first time she had said duh-huh or hey bhaggu…he stared at her in disbelief… "tumne… tumne kya kaha Ashi? She looked at uv in confusion… ashi? She asked and then she remembered….his lost love…she scolded herself for shouting at him when she knew he was going through such a tough phase of life… "umm..yuvi…I am sorry I didn't mean to shout like that. main shayed bohut unpredictable hun I know u that tum ashi ko bohut miss karte ho but main main Anvesha hun tumhari ashi nahi.."she said sympathetically.
And uv could not believe his hard luck he thought that for a second his wacko was back as always fighting with him forever….he closed his eyes and stopped the tears from flowing out.. "who… actually Anvesha…ashi ko bhi jerry bohut pasand tha…and u know…umm..anyways….tennis khelogi?
"tennis?"
"haan ek game hai its really rocking…u know it actually makes u feel that u can rule the world!
"umm pata nahi I have never heard of this game….koi naya game hai kya?"
"umm yaa it's a brand new game and its very good…bohut maza aayega chalo na main tumhe sikha dunga!"
"umm okk..but it better be good ok?"…..and she rolled her eyes and stalled off…leaving him smiling…
They went to the same old tennis court where she had defeated him so many millions of times…now uv prayed ardently that he lost even today…all he wanted was to see the same zeal and passion that reverberated through ashi whenever she had the racquet in her hand…all uv wanted was to preserve and nurture this one talent of ashi in which she was a natural….yuvi gave her the racqet and before he knew it she had given a fabulous serve..
"Hey bhaggu..ye kya hai..ye to itna aasaan aur accha hai…!!!"she said excitedly her eyes gleaming with joy and passion…and uv just looked at the sky and said "thank you bhaggu" He was defeated by her hands down…and the limits of her happiness had no boundaries…and uv at that moment agreed…that it truely was said that things which the heart was passionate about could never be lost beneath the tragedy of fate…the only thing that remained to be seen was the extent of her passion for him and he knew he would win in this too…
That very night she was sititng in the garden and unknowingly playing his guitar. He ran out when he heard it; it was the same tune he had composed for her long long ago in their beautiful shed at Maurya. " tumne ye dhun kahaan se seekhi?"
"pata nahi," she said shrugging her shoulders, "bus apne aap it started playing..acchi hai na.? she asked eagerly, ".mujhe to ye dhun bohut acchi lagty hai…aisa lagta hai ye meri sad times ki best frrnd hai….tumhe ye dhun seekhni hai?..main sikhaon?" She asked innocently….
He slumped down to the ground, the weight of his emotions suddenly became too heavy…he broke down into uncontrollable tears all the miseries flowing through him…
"Yuvi! Yuvi!" she said…worried and sorry for him...he had really loved ashi too much…she hugged him close and he held her tightly shedding all his tears and sorrows in her arms...praying for bridging this unwanted distance between them….she ran her fingers through his hair and consoled him…"yuvi..kissi ke jaane se pyaar kam nahi hota….tum ashi se hamesha pyaar karoge lekin life rukty nahi hai..humme move on karna hoga uv!" She cupped his face and wiped his tears…"aur kya pata," she said…looking deep in his eyes…"shayed ashi bhi yehi chahty hai…"
He looked at her and he knew that his ashi wanted him to always smile and be happy…he wiped his tears and suddenly the light turned luminous…maybe his ashi had gone forever…maybe the life he had shared with her was a memory of the past ...but right there infront of him was his future his new love...his anvesha…it was said that love just happened once…but u could always fall in love with the same person again and again….and that was what had happened to him…he was in love all over again…it was now time to bid adios to his ashi…….and time to create new memories with anvesha.
"Anvesha," he said holding her hand and bring it to his lips to land a promising kiss…will you dance with me… now and forever? She blushed deeply…and said directly looking in his eyes…
"ok I wld dance with you but only if u promise that it would be I who would lead all our dances…ok psycho?" she said mischievously…..and played with his hair
"psycho?" he asked…
"tumahara new name….samjhe mr psychopathetic?"
"haa agar main psycho to tum..meri wacko," he said and she laughed at the weird name he had given her….and he kissed her on the head and turned the music on to dance with her into their future….
