Anyone for Karan, girls? Karan Wahi refuses to commit to any new shows after Remixas he has signed a film. In turn, actresses refuse to commit to acting with him, stalling the film indefinitely RANJIB MAZUMDER
Remember Karan Wahi, who played the lead character, Ranvir, in the youthoriented show, Remix? The actor has signed an untitled movie with UTV and has been rejecting a lot of TV offers that have been coming his way. The hitch is that UTV is unable to find a girl opposite the young TV heartthrob. Apparently, a lot of girls have rejected the role opposite Karan. Hence,
the film has
been delayed
for an indefinite period.
When asked about actresses shying away from being pairing with him, Karan says, "I have no idea what is going on with my movie. All I know is that the actress who was finalised for the role backed out because she got another movie for her debut. Apart from that, I don't know what's going on with the project as they have not informed me about the actress."
The film is based on college life, which tries to cash in on his Remix image. "I signed the movie because I was able to identify with the character that I am going to play. But, I think the movie has been delayed a bit as all the details have not been finalised yet," he added.
The actor disappeared after Remix and has been rejecting a lot shows. "After Remix, I got a lot of tempting offers, but I did not sign any because I wanted to concentrate on my movie. Moreover, I can't do a show as it needs a lot commitment which I can't afford. So, I have not accepted any show. I know, people are angry with me," laughs Karan.
The actor is looking at the brighter side of life. "I am just keeping my fingers crossed as I am sure that my movie won't be shelved. But, I don't want to do any more television serials," he concludes.
