i have read another on indya.com
Remix'd Resolutions

Tia, Anvesha, Ranveer and Yuvi - four individuals with one common passion - Music and of course, life at Maurya High! Here they are, sharing their New Year plans only on indya.com.

Priya Wal - Anvesha Banerjee Ray

Daughter of a well-known, gorgeous actress, Anvesha is a bundle of mischief, forever competing with her own mother, Anvesha gets her thrills out of scandalizing people, find out more...

Your new year resolution: I haven't had the time to take time out for myself, so my resolution for the coming year is to take some free time out and spend it on exercising and playing my favourite sport - Tennis. I have been playing the sport since I was a kid. I have taken this as a resolution, I hope I stick to it.

New year party plans: No plans as such, but have decided that I should go out with a couple of friends, away from Mumbai's buzz… But haven't decided where to.

Favourite hang out: Most of the time I am shooting. I am not from Mumbai, so I haven't been out that much, but the place I like to hang out at is Totos in Bandra. It's a cool joint.

Your favourite moment on Remix: My favourite moments on Remix is mostly off the screen - when people come to visit sets and enjoy the scenes, praise us, tell us where we were wrong. I really enjoy my time while I am on shoot, so there is no single moment. I also love it when we go out on publicity stunts and fans flock us. I like the feeling of being recognized by those of my own generation.

Favourite number on the Remix album: Mast Mast. I like the lyrics, the tune, everything about the song... I think its video is the best ever, it's so lively.

Why do you think Remix is so popular among the youth?
The best thing about Remix is the enthusiasm in the show, it is easy to be a part of it, and it has sort of become the part and parcel of many young people's lives. It's not just another TV show. Remix is like the English series - Friends. I come back home to catch up on it, it is half hour total entertainment. The same old music and television serials become boring after a while… Remix is fresh and young, it's a show for the youth, and there are very few of those.

Message to all your fans: Be yourself, don't try too hard to fit in, follow your dreams. And have a great New year in 2006.

Raj Singh Arora - Yuvraj Dev

Yuvi is how he is popularly known in Maurya, is the son of a powerful politician, is the ultimate spoilt brat. Yuvi is forever getting into trouble and is regularly pulled out of sticky situations by his father, read on to find out what he does for fun...

Your new year resolution: I want to start playing squash, I think it's a good sport, I have been playing chess and snooker all this while, I want to do something energetic.

New year party plans: I haven't decided on anything, I would hang out with my friends most probably.

Favourite hang out: Orbit Mall, I think it is a wholesome place… One can do so many things in one single place, be it books, theaters, shopping or just hanging out with friends, I think it's a really well designed mall. I haven't travelled a lot, but I love going to Goa and Khajuraho in Madya Pradesh, I am never tired of going to Khajuraho.

Your favourite moment on Remix: I will not lie, but every single day of shoot I get up and am excited to go to the sets, I love every single day of Remix.

Favourite number on the Remix album: Mast Mast and the title track.

Why do you think Remix is so popular among the youth?
Firstly, it's a path-breaking show on television, today. Just like the channel that airs the show, STAR One, Remix is a show for today's generation. It has brought fresh air in into television programming and it's a significant part of many people's live.

Message to all your fans: Thank you and love you all, I haven't met all of you, but I will try reaching to as many of you in the future.

Shweta Gulati - Tia Ahuja

Completely spoilt by the doting father and obsessed with her looks and beauty secrets, Tia's life revolves around high fashion, clothes and accessories and her close group of friends, Pri and Meher, on Remix. Get to know her likes and dislikes in real.

Your new year resolution: I want to spend as much as time as I can with my family and friends. In the past two and a half years, I just haven't got that kind of time. I plan to make time especially for my family.

New year party plans: I have my Goa tickets in my hand, but have decided to cancel them and go to Jammu to spend the first day of the year praying. The year 2005 has been a complete turmoil, July 26 was the worst day in many Mumbaikars' lives. I want to pray for a better year for all and myself. I am going to Vaishno Devi Mandir with some of my friends.

Favourite hang out: For partying - I love going to Enigma. For eating, which I do a lot, I love Chinese, so Mainland China, Ruby Tuesday and Legacy of China. I also love this pani puri tela in Locandwala Market, I don't remember what it is called, but the pani puri there is just too good.

Your favourite moment on Remix: I will have to recount my most embarrassing moment, in the scene, where I had climbed up to Meher's room to see what she is up to. Tia being Tia, can't climb well, so I fall from the top and Yuvi is supposed to catch me, but the genius walked into the scene two minutes early and was looking blankly at the Director… while I was oblivious to this and jumped. This was funny but I was injured quite badly, almost broke my tail bone, it was very embarrassing.

I also like the romantic scenes between Ranvir and Tia. We have been appreciated a lot, especially the one where he proposes to me and then when we break up. It had creativity and required talent. Those were also my favourite.

Apart from that, I also love all the fun we have behind the scenes. Just a few days back we locked Priya with our Executive Producer in the green room, and later had a water fight, it was like the second Holi blast, where we poured water on each other. We had lots of fun…

Also, in the scene where we are deciding how to scare Shyla away, we were rolling with laughter, it was hilarious.

Why do you think Remix is so popular among the youth?
The show is about real masti. Remix shows reality, the relationship shared with parents, friends, classmates... It is down to earth, and it's what really happens. Moreover, it's unlike the saas-bahu dramas we see all the time.

If Ekta Kapoor approaches you with a show, will you take it?
I'll not say no to Balaji, but the role has to be real, has to be different. I have played Tia Ahuja, I want to do something different.

Message to all your fans: Please be safe, have fun. Have a great resolution and stick to it, Happy New Year!

Karan Wahi - Ranveer Sisodia

Hailing from a small town in Rajasthan, this young scholarship student has joined Maurya High to avenge the death of his father. Get to know what he really does in life...

Your new year resolution: I have decided to work lesser and spend more time thinking out how my life is taking shape, figure out my mistakes and correct them. Hope I am able to do that, hope God's with me while I do so.

New year party plans: I am leaving for home in Delhi. My cousin got engaged and my family wants me there, I have been away for some time now, I want to go and relax.

Favourite hang out: In Mumbai - Orbit Mall, I spend so much time shooting, and whenever I get time I like to unwind in this mall. One gets everything there. I love the place.

Your favourite moment on Remix: The moment I most cherish is when I was chosen as the Best Debut actor for ITA (Indian Telly Awards). It was an honour, that's my first award as an actor.

Favourite number on the Remix album: My favourite track is Dil Ke Ye Dadkan, it's the love song of my life.

Love for whom?
Tia Ahuja, ofcourse (laughs).

Why do you think Remix is so popular among the youth?
Unlike other shows, Remix is less fiction and more close to reality. I won't say it is totally real, but because I am just out of school, and am the youngest among the Remix gang, what is shown on Remix is just what I did. I have had my share of masti, fights with guys for girls, it's close to reality and so attracts our generation.

Message to all your fans: Party hard, don't be bad, be yourselves, have a great time.

Tia stranded at Jammu airport for 24 hours
By: Tushar Joshi
January 4, 2006

Shweta Gulati
Unlike her industry friends, Shweta Gulati who plays Tia in Star One's Remix decided to spend her new year in a different way. The actress who was planning to party in Goa earlier, changed her mind at the last minute.

"I don't know what happened to me. I got a strong feeling that I must go for mata's darshan. So I changed my Goa plan and landed up at Jammu on December 31." A few of the actresses' friends joined her on the trip.

Eight-hour trek

Shweta walked her way up and down to the mountain to reach the temple. It took her approximately eight hours to finish the entire darshan. "It was an almost 25-km walk from Katra to Vaishnodevi.

We started around 2 pm in the afternoon and ended the darshan at 10 pm in the night. It was tiring, but quite a spiritual experience at the same time. We hardly get to walk in Mumbai, so doing it all of a sudden has taken quite a toll on me."

However there was more pain waiting for her as she got to the airport to make her journey back home.

"The next day at Jammu we were told that all flights were cancelled due to heavy rains. So we decided to rest in a local lodge, only to go back the next day and realise the condition still hadn't improved."

Hard on legs

The actress had two thoughts on her mind — one was to make it in time for the shooting of her daily show, and second ensure that she doesn't fall sick or get any physical injury.

"My legs are still aching from the walk, and the cold here is quite unbearable. I had a good break and now am craving to get back to work. I can't stay away from Remix for a long time."

She adds that her Vaishnodevi journey will remain one of her most recent memorable experiences.

"I am feeling a renewed vigour within me, and I think it's because of my walk up to the temple."

Shweta planned to take an Air Sahara flight last night and return back to the city.

single and ready to mingle!

They are the most watched women on Indian television. These are ladies who are not afraid to flaunt either their vital stats or their grey matter. Actresses and entrepreneurs, they drive the industry with their zest for life and passion for their work!

SANGEETA GHOSH: She has a great body, which she doesn't hesitate to flaunt and a brain to match! She is frank and forthcoming and makes no bones about her point of view. And therein lies her sex appeal! And the gal has been linked to...her favourite producer, Aroona Irani! Ha!

EKTA KAPOOR: She is the brain behind the empire that drives the television industry today. She is a bundle of contradictions -- she has the capability to surprise even those who claim to know her well. Her intelligence is her sex appeal! People keep wondering what she would come up with next, men are in awe and women are envious....any man who matches her will be a man to watch out for!

SWETTA KESWANI:She knows exactly what she wants and doesn't mind waiting to realise her dreams! A much appreciated cross over film later, Swetta is looking for work that is not run of the mill. She is different because she she looks at life differently -- one chat with her and you know that there is more to her than her backless outfit.

SAKSHI TANWAR:Her name is rarely splashed in print other than for reasons related to her work. No explosive interviews, no publicity stunts, the lady is truely as elusive as they come in this industry! But whenever the lady decides to make an apapearance, she does it with elan! One of these days Sakshi's infectious smile and ready wit will have men rooting for her!
NIGAAR Z KHAN: She is one of those women whose beauty is not in your face. Her dusky complexion and her trademark raised eyebrows are her USP! She is hot...and she is happening! Watch out for her in 2006, she is sure to raise some eyebrows!
SHWETA GULATI: She is the pretty little thing that pappa approves of! She wears the skimpiest clothes on campus (Remix) and has the confidence to pull them off! She is sweet and she is smart...and that's what makes guys go fida over her!
AAMNA SHARIFF: She has that 'little girl lost' kind of a look that makes men want to protect her. Aamna is beautiful and she knows it -- this makes her all the more endearing!

Anvesha moves closer to tennis
By: Tushar Joshi
January 13, 2006

Priya Wal
Not many know that Remix's red haired Anvesha (Priya Wal) has been a professional tennis player before she ventured into modelling.

Priya started playing the sport from the time she was 15 or 16 year old. "I have played for Rajasthan and also spent two years of intensive training in Chennai's Tennis Academy."

Steffi Fan

The actress recalls her earlier days when she would worship Steffi Graff. "I used be a huge fan of Steffi Graf and Andre Aggasi. In fact, I would even tell my friends that it would be a dream to see them get married someday. Everyone would laugh at me then."

So why didn't she pursue tennis as her main profession? "It is a very expensive sport. An average racquet costs anywhere between 6000-7000 bucks. Also there's a lot of travelling involved and there are no instant rewards. I anyways was never looking at tennis as means of earning money."

Anything for Tennis

Even though she is a television actress and doesn't get enough time play as much as before, Priya makes it a point to visit Goregaon Sports Complex whenever she has the time.

So much that she is in fact, planning to shift her residence closer to the club to cut down on the travelling time. "Yes I am looking at renting a room near the complex so I can play more tennis. Right now I am staying in Malad, and it does take time travelling back and forth from the club."

When asked who she plays the game with, Priya said, "I really haven't met die-hard tennis enthusiasts where I play. But I am looking forward to meet people who love the game as much as me. Till then I am enjoying playing with my coach and some 12 year old kids."

Kudos Sania

What about Sania Mirza, what does she think of her? Priya says, "I admire her for the way she has broken into the world rankings.

It isn't easy for a tennis player to reach that far without hard work. With cricket being the most promoted and popular game today, tennis players find it hard to find a platform. In such times, I applaud Sania for her achievements."

Remix

<>document.write('Aelina,') Aelina, IndiaGlitz [Thursday, December 22, 2005]

With movies getting bigger and bigger with innovative ideas floating around their promotion, how could the small screen be far behind? Now songs from even television serials are being promoted like never before with songs from Star One's popular campus caper 'REMIX' being one of them. REMIX is the story of four different people - Tia, Ashi, Ranveer and Yuvi who have one common mission - MUSIC. And inspite of the serial and the album titled as 'REMIX', it is in fact a compilation of all original songs by AASMA rather than remixes of oldies.

1) Dil Ki Yeh Dhadkan [Music: Gaurav Issar, Lyrics: Amir Rizvi, Singers: Aasma]

There are number of new entrants who have composed for REMIX and Gaurav Issar is one of them. And doesn't he do a good job? A soft number to begin the album 'Dil Ki Yeh Dhadkan' is a typical college teenage love song with mushy lyrics and the kind of tune that suits anyone and everyone who dreams of meeting his/her true love one fine day. The number begins on a slow note but mid-way changes track to turn into a peppy song.

2) Remix [Music: Pritam, Lyrics: Amir Rizvi, Singers: Aasma and Rap by BlaaZe]

Those who have been watching this popular tele-serial would grab the title song of 'Remix' with both hands. Extremely foot tapping, lively and instant energizer, 'Remix' with music by current hot'n'happening Pritam is a winner for the youth brigade. BlaaZe begins the song with a rap to set the tone for this lively youthful campus number that has AASMA coming up with one of their best rendered and most popular tracks. Amir Rizvi's lyrics capture the mood of the campus life quite well and make REMIX one easily identifiable number.

3) Mast Mast (The Vikesh Mehta Mix) [Music: Vikesh Mehta, Lyrics: Amir Rizvi, Singers: Aasma, Rap by MC Sensor]

'Kahin Pe Nigahen Kahin Pe Nishana' - Remember the evergreen yesteryear's oldie? Well, this is what begins 'Mast Mast', yet another youthful number [as per the mood of the entire album], that has music by Vikesh Mehta who has been doing some work for Bollywood flicks since last few years. A hip-hop number, it is a dance floor number that could be one of the good inclusions for your New Years Eve party. One doesn't really have to hear the lyrics closely as the song is heavy on beats and rap that makes it foot tapping.

4) Love Station [Music: Naresh-Paresh, Lyrics: P A Sreekanth, Singers: Aasma, Rap by Bob]

After Amir Rizvi writing for the first three tracks, it is the turn of P A Sreekanth to write for 'Love Station' which is about 'Love Is In The Air...Feel It Everywhere'. A song that is completely devoted to LOVE from beginning to finish, it is young'n'rhythmic treat for Generation X with a lot of additional musical effects thrown in along with some good rap by Bob. Once this song is played, one gets a strong feeling that the album 'REMIX' is more of an amalgamation of peppy party songs. They work in totality when played together as a part of the album, rather than any single song trying to make a big impression!

5) Boom [Music: Deep, Lyrics: Sandeep Shrivastava, Singers: Aasma]

The party continues with 'Boom' that is easily the second best song after the title song of REMIX. This time on, the song is all about MUSIC with composer Deep and lyricist Sandeep Shrivastava truly dedicating the song to the spirit and enthusiasm related to music. A racy song that catches on to full speed from the first note itself, it deserves to have a music video dedicated to it as it has good potential to grow with every hearing. With good musical arrangements to boast of, it makes AASMA's rendition come out even more strongly to make 'Boom' a cool campus/party song!

6) Baad Mein Jahaan [Music: Vikesh Mehta, Lyrics: Sandeep Shrivastava, Singers: Aasma]

Vikesh Mehta comes back to compose 'Baad Mein Jahaan' that has shades of 'Dus Bahane' from 'Dus'. There is a different style of singing by all the singers hence giving 'Baad Mein Jahaan' a different flavor than the rest of the tracks, though the soul of the album still remains intact. One could even call this track a qawalli-western fusion and though the number doesn't exactly click on the first hearing, it becomes immensely enjoyable as you hear it a few times. A good track!

7) Dance Dance (Original and remix) [Music: Bappi Lahiri, Lyrics: Sandeep Shrivastava, Singers: Aasma and Bappi Lahiri]

Bappi Lahiri arrives on the scene with, what else, but 'DANCE DANCE'. The song is composed in an old fashioned manner with some good arrangements thrown in for additional effects. Bappi Lahiri chips in as well for this song about living life to the fullest and enjoying every moment of it by dancing all the while. Next comes a remix version of the same track that is done by Bappa and further enhances the DISCO DANCE mania.

As stated earlier, REMIX comes at the right time when Christmas season and NEW YEAR is just round the corner. Though one shouldn't expect anything out rightly unique or superlative from the album, it is good enough to be played on full throttle to have people jumping on the dance floor.

Come December 31, and the entire Mumbai will get into a party mood. It's the time when people bid adieu to the year gone by and welcome the new calendar. Our TV celebs are no different. Screen spoke to a few of them to find out how they plan to usher in 2006.

Priya Wal (Anvesha, Remix) will mostly be in Mumbai or back home in Delhi depending on the number of days she gets off. Whereever she will be, she will make it a point to celebrate with close friends and party till the wee hours of the morning. "Our Delhi farm house bashes can get as wild as the heppest Mumbai parties," she reveals. She has not yet decided whether she will wear hot pants or skirts, but one thing, she is sure of is that she will carry her attitude with her dressing.

This is one time when everybody makes resolutions, but hardly anybody ever follows them. Says Shruti Seth (Shararat) "Every year, I resolve to loose weight but just can't." Ronit Roy who is not sure where he will be on the eve of the new year always uses this period to contemplate on what went right or wrong in the past year and make future plans (in fact he does this, twice a year). Tisca, on the other hand, tries to look at the positive side only, as this will strengthen her resolve to do better, in the coming year. Priya Wal has no intentions of taking a back check, for she believes that there is no sense in crying over spilt milk, especially at a time when life has been good to her.
