What really happens at midnight?

Wanna know what our shopaholics do at the midnight hour, when all of us are tucked in bed? Well, dahlins, they venture out shopping! A store had its midnight sale on Thursday (yes, this event officially began at 11.30 pm) and despite the odd hour and the heavy showers, a bunch of people did come! Sanjay Vakharia of the store was a pleased man indeed, as he spoke about how the masses flock to sales, but a midnight sale is a signature style statement.
While Siddharth Kannan took to the jeans section with interest, Shonal Rawat took a special liking for some tops. Her boyfriend Deepak Bajaj meanwhile caught up with Rajev Paul. Karan Wahi was the next to come by; he brought two of his friends Sonal and Hemani along to help him pick up a pair of denims. Talk about friends for all seasons and for all reasons! 'Shop till you drop' took an altogether new meaning at this midnight affair!

Shweta: I wasn't married, ever

Actress Shweta Gulati begins the interview by putting to rest the rumours surrounding her.

Ask her about those rumours of her marriage and now divorced status and she says, "It's not at all true. I wasn't married, ever. I am in a relationship currently and he's not from the industry." She goes straight to the next bit of 'news' about her: She is 'old' and plays 'younger' characters. "It is a very personal issue to comment about. The audience likes or dislikes me because of my work and not my age. I have told them whatever they need to know but I can't tell them everything."

On her career front, Shweta is busy shooting for two television shows — a reality dance show Zara Nachke Dikha and a romantic comedy serial Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (on Bindass channel) "In Kiss Kiss Bang Bang , I play the character of a business woman who works in a corporate company. Whereas in Zara Nachke Dikha I host the show with Karan Singh Grover. I thoroughly enjoy working in both as I get to do two different things," says Shweta.

What does she like the most: acting or hosting a show? "I have hosted shows in the past but this is my first reality show. I love doing this as I get to be myself. I don't have to fake emotions or indulge in melodrama. However, everything has its own charm. I wouldn't want to choose one over another," she clarifies.

Since she hosts a dance show, can she shake a leg or two? "I am not a bad dancer but I am not an excellent one as well. I love to dance but will perform only if I get better," replies Shweta.

Shweta owes her popularity to the character Tia Ahuja that she played in Remix. "Life has completely changed after Remix and I am quite like Tia today. My dressing sense was rugged and casual before but after playing Tia, I take care to look well co-ordinated."

How does she spend her leisure time? "I love to play with my dogs Pheebie and Messy. I also love to read, watch sports and sleep."

Kahaani actress turns director

Priya Wal, who plays Aditi in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, believes that she is more of an off screen person than on screen. Priya has turned director for a documentary.

An excited Priya informs, "This story is about two boys and two girls. The young girls think they will date a macho man but end up having a relationship with next door, goofy kind of guy. It is only of six minutes. I have written, directed, am acting in it and have also produced it. Apart from me my friends are also there in the movie."

She adds, "The film is going to premiere on September 28 at Shamiana Film Club, Andheri at 6 pm. I will attend that. Of course the premiere is not like a multiplex one. These are the same people who used to have Mocha club. They encourage short filmmakers so they are going to show it wherever they go like Pune, Kolkata and all. I have always been on the creative side, I have written a full fledged script which I will make into a movie in some time."

About Kaahani, she says, "We are shooting for a scene where the four of us get together and are on a mission to save Parvati. We are re-entering the show. Parvati mummy was never in this situation before so she needs someone to rescue her. How the four of us who do not know each other get together. How our personality clashes, is how the story will move forward."

Talking about her personal track, she says, "For me, Aditi is definitely going to be very different than what she has been in the show. Earlier she came back looking for her mother. She has that feeling that her mother is not accepting her. That was the whole vulnerable, emotional stage. But now she has accepted that Parvati is not her mother. She has become strong and has a very different outlook to her life. Her character has grown a lot and is going to be completely unlike her prior cry baby image."

Priya, a Remix girl, has travelled all across India and is now looking forward to have holidays in Europe. She also informs that she will not be seen on the big screen at all and would prefer directing.

Mirror man
HERE'S some goss for those who still hope metrosexual isn't passe.Raj Singh Arora who plays Rattu in Sab's Four is an eager candidate. The actor spends most of his time, when not in front of the camera, in front of the mirror. He's always chaperoned by his make-up man. Never mind the soaring temperatures, on a recent outdoor shoot in Panchgani,Arora stuck with his leather pants and jacket. Ain't no gain without pain, eh?
