Transcript of LIVE CHAT with TV actress, Priya Wal at 12 noon on Monday, May 30, 2005 in Mumbai Priya Wal TV actress "I was a national level tennis player and thought I'd be the next Steffi Graff but ended up as a model and an actress." Rajiv > What makes you so different from others - in every way, personally and professionally? Priya Wal > Well, I think I am my own person. I have my own individual style. And I am a person with very diverse interests. Like I have been a national level tennis player. have been a model, have travelled all over the country. So, I have seen a lot. Hence, that makes me a very different person where I have varied interests. Professionally, this is my first role. The character of "Anvesha" is very different from anything else on TV (currently). Gaurav > Hi!, how did you get noticed first and who promoted you ? Priya Wal > I was modelling with Elite in Delhi, and a movies production (house) that belongs to Goldie Behl and Srishti Arya saw my pictures, which they liked. They called me to Mumbai for an audition and that's how I got the role of "Anvesha." Yusuf > Any other TV serials in the pipeline for you? Priya Wal > No, since Remix is a one hour daily and I have an exclusive contract (with them). I can't do any other serials. Uma > Hi, TV (serials) in India is full of sati-savitri (pious) looking women and audiences seem to love them. Do you think you can make an impact with your ultra mod-western look? Priya Wal > Well, first of all, I don't think we are ultra modern. It's just that these days there's a total remix (fusion) generation and our serial caters to the needs and beliefs of this generation. Since the serial is such a big hit, it proves that we are on the right track. Jiyaa > Are you going to try in Bollywood? Have you received any offers? Priya Wal > Yeah, I have received a couple of offers but as of now Remix is my only priority and when I do plan to get into movies, I will be trying for crossover films. Gayatri > What sort of role would you like to play on screen? Priya Wal > When it comes to movies, I love the roles of women with a lot of pain and rebelliousness and actually I am open to all kinds of roles, as long as I can relate to them somewhere along the line. Fiza > What do you think is the most important in a relationship- love or money? Priya Wal > Certainly love because money comes and goes, but for two people to make it through in life, you certainly need a lot of love . Diggy > What is the most embarrassing moment of your life? Priya Wal > I can't really remember one particularly but I am a Sagittarian (zodiac sign) and end up with my foot in the mouth, most of the time. Kitty > What are some of your hobbies? Priya Wal > I love writing, I love music - specially rock - and I love reading. Raju > What are your future plans? Priya Wal > I am one person who never plans for (my) life. I had thought I'd be the next Steffi Graff and I ended up modelling. Later Remix (serial) happened and I really don't know where I will go from here, but hopefully the future is bright. Sign Off Message > Thanks for the nice questions and live life to the fullest. Love, Priya Wal. |

There are some things which are very common between us, like we get ill on the same day, we have allergies to the same things and people think we resemble each other. She is a sweetheart . Transcript of LIVE INDIATIMES CHAT with TV actress Soniya Kapoor at 12 noon on Monday, October 17, 2005 in Mumbai Soniya Kapoor T V actress "It feels funny to play mom to people closer to my age. When they call me "mom" or "aunty", I start laughing" Remixgang.net > I recently read an interview of yours where you confessed that your style icon is Sushmita Sen. I really appreciate your humbleness, and feel that you really remind me of Sush. Now comes my question - What's the real reason for Remix to being telecast for only 30 minutes. Is the shooting time too much? And what will be major changes (if any) in the Season 2? Thanks and I really appreciate your sense of humor. Love, Kukreja! lol... Soniya Kapoor > I love you too. The reason for Remix being on air for half-an-hour is because of the shooting pressure. I don't see any major changes. Still, ' Ranvir' and 'Tiya' will continue to fight etc. Mads_2cool > Hi Soniya! How are you? I just want to say that I really like you. You are very beautiful and your acting is superb! Do you relate to your character in Remix, as in, if you had a daughter like 'Anvesha', would you treat her the same way that you treat your onscreen daughter? Soniya Kapoor > Thanks for the compliment. I think 'Soniya Ray' (my character in Remix ) is eighty percent like the real Soniya Kapoor. Yes, I would treat her the same way. Nehabagchi > Hi Soniya, whom do you have maximum fights on the sets of Remix with? Who is your favourite co star on the sets of Remix ? Soniya Kapoor > The maximum fights are with Priya Wal, who is playing Anvesha, as she bullies me a lot, and I think I love her. My favourite co-star is Vinay Jain (Sumit Ahuja). Nehabagchi > You seem to be quite friendly. So, how is it working with the youngsters of Remix ? How was the Bombay times bash on the cruise? I saw you party with actress, Deepshikha. Who do you think is the best looking of all on the sets of Remix? And please don't say all. I wish I had a broad-minded mother like Soniya Ray. Soniya Kapoor > Yes, I am very friendly and working with the youngsters is great fun. I really feel I am in college, when I am with them. The Bombay Times party was fabulous! Soniya Ray of course is the most good looking of all! Rita > You are so young yourself, then why are you playing mom onscreen? How does it feel to play mom to youngsters who are only a few years younger to you? Soniya Kapoor > That's a good question. Soniya Ray is not a typical mother. She is like her friend to her daughter; very successful in her career, fun loving and helpful. So, as an artiste, I have a lot of shades to play. It feels funny to play mom to people closer to my age. When they call me "mom" or "aunty", I burst out laughing. Rehanulhafiz > Which serial is your first? You wanna do films too? Soniya Kapoor > My first was Zanjeerein and my character's name in it was 'Ranjana' . Yes I would love to do films. Mommie > Have you gone for the mom role because you want to stay in circulation? Is it so hard to get work in the TV industry these days? Soniya Kapoor > I have been around for about 8-9 years. It is not that difficult to get roles. But since this is a very different character, and now it is very popular too, I do not regret it. I don't think it is hard to get work in the TV Industry. Pooja > Hello Soniya. When are we going to see you in a new look - with a short hair cut, like Anvesha? Soniya Kapoor > That's asking for too much. That's not my character. It's meant for 'Anvesha' because she is a psycho! Meghie > In Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa , you played 'Avantika' who was a divorcee and married a younger man. Do you like essaying unusual characters on TV? Why? Soniya Kapoor > like doing unusual characters because I have fans like you, who will appreciate it. Clod > How did you get into this line? Soniya Kapoor > I would say destiny. I started with modelling and then got an offer from a TV serial. I just took it. Lali > Talking about fashion – what's your personal style? In real life, do you like to look glamorous or prefer the simple look? Soniya Kapoor > My personal style is something which is very, very comfortable. I love wearing jeans, a top and a belt. Regarding my preferred look, it all depends. If it is a party, I would like to look glamorous. Otherwise, I would go with simplicity. Riya > We have heard that you are going to undergo a makeover - hair cut short and all. Is it true? When is it happening? Soniya Kapoor > It's just a rumour. I am not having any short haircut. Ashita > Do you think you could handle a daughter like Anvesha in real life too and with the same ease? Soniya Kapoor > I do have difficulties handling Anvesha. It's not as easy as it looks. But yes, in real life I think I can manage. Moracha > Why is it that TV stars these days do not show eagerness to do films? Soniya Kapoor > Probably because there is no time to struggle. Plus, there is a lot of work happening on TV. Rakesh13_666 > Do you think it is easier to act as a vamp or as a good character? Soniya Kapoor > As a good character because I cannot relate to negative characters. Keki > What other serial are you doing currently? Soniya Kapoor > Piya Ka Ghar - I am playing 'Shweta' in it. Jamies > Are you doing any films? What sort of roles would you like to play on the big screen? Soniya Kapoor > I am not doing any films at the moment. I would like to play the role that Meenakshi Sheeshadri played in Damini . Ashita > When can we expect 'Sonia Ray' and 'Manmeet Raheja' to share some sweet romantic moments? Soniya Kapoor > Well, the undercurrent of romance has already started, if you notice, on the screen. Sign Off Message > Keep watching Remix. Love, Soniya |

Transcript of LIVE CHAT with TV actor, Siddhanth Karnick at 12 noon on Friday, August 26, 2005 in Mumbai Siddhanth Karnick TV actor "One has to be a very good dancer to pretend to be a bad dancer" Aashy > Hi Siddhant, you really have a very nice smile! So, what do you enjoy doing the most - acting or dancing and why? Siddhanth Karnick > That's a very tricky question because I do love doing both. However, I would pick dancing between the two because there is lot more work, which goes into dancing. Apart from expressions, there is a lot of coordination and energy required in it. Thank you. Neha > Hi! I'm from USA and my name is Neha. How do you like working in the serial Remix ? Siddhanth Karnick > I love it with a capital 'L'. It's the best thing going for me right now! Maddy > Are you doing any other show on TV, apart from Remix ? Siddhanth Karnick > No, I am under an exclusive contract with the production house. Mona > Hi, do you still teach dance? How did you get interested in this? Where did you teach? Siddhanth Karnick > Well, I keep my dancing to (my) bathroom these days. I was always a nautanki (actor). But, I started dancing in college. One thing led to another and I became a dance instructor, then specialised in salsa right after the movie Dance With Me was released. I taught at a place in Bandra (Mumbai). The movie inspired me a lot learn Latino style dancing. Maddy > Are you seeing anyone? Siddhanth Karnick > As of now, in my real life, nobody. Although, I am in love with somebody and that is my dog. Leher > How did you think of making a switch to TV and acting from teaching western dance? Siddhanth Karnick > I was not only teaching dancing I was modelling as well, and then (serial) Remix came my way. I got the role by auditioning for it. Since then, there has been no looking back. Palls > Where are you from? Siddhanth Karnick > I am from Mumbai. Maddy > How is your off screen relationship with Karan Wahi(Ranveer)? Siddhanth Karnick > We are the best of buddies off screen and whenever we get the time, we work out together (in the gym). Mona > What's the movie Dance With Me all about? When did you act in it? Who was in it with you? Was it in English or Hindi? What was your role in it? Siddhanth Karnick > Dance With Me is a movie that I watched in the theatre. It's all about Latino style dancing, although I wish I had been in the movie. If not, I would like to be in such a movie in the future. Vanessa Williams plays the main lead in the movie. This movie inspired me to take up salsa dancing. Manyu > Hey, you look really good in Remix . Can you tell me what are your future plans? Siddhanth Karnick > Thank you. I am going to go with whatever comes my way. Until today, things have been great and I just hope things will be as good, if not better. Kanakg05 > Hello "Arjun", this is Kanak. When and how did you start your career on TV? Siddhanth Karnick > Hi Kanak. I started off last December with the serial Remix. I went for an audition, was selected and began shooting. And as for dancing, modelling and compering, I started doing those out of sheer boredom. Aashy84 > Siddhant, who is your best pal from Remix off screen? Siddhanth Karnick > You are going to have to believe this, as all of them are very close to me. Jiva > Is western dancing - formal I mean - catching up in India? Siddhanth Karnick > Definitely, it is. Kanakg05 > This is Kanak again. In a part in Remix you are shown to be very awkward while dancing with Tia. If you are such a good dancer then that sequence must have taken a lot of effort on your part to show yourself as a lousy dancer. How did you do it? Siddhanth Karnick > Kanak, this is a lovely question. All I want to say is that you have to be a very good dancer to pretend to be a bad dancer. Thank you for that question. My students had called up to ask me exactly the same thing. Sign Off Message > It was lovely talking to you. I wish I could continue chatting but I have to go back to my shoot. I thank all of you for the lovely response and according me an enjoyable experience. |
Shweta Gulati | ||
Transcript of LIVE CHAT with TV actress, Shweta Gulati at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 in Mumbai Shweta Gulati TV actress "I did voice training for "Teeya's" character at the workshop held before shooting for the serial. It helped me modulate my voice to perform as a teenager." Naturalguy > How long have you been in the show biz? Shewta Gulati > About two years. Remix > It is just fabulous to see the way you act. I mean, you seem to be a better actor than Big B. No, do not take it as false. Anyone who sees your acting is spellbound i.e. the way you talk, the way you change your emotions, all that. Have you gone to any acting school? Shewta Gulati > I don't agree to that I am better than Big B, but I am really thankful to you for having said that. No, I haven't been to any acting school. I guess, this actress was there in me since I was born. Remix > You have worked in a call centre and this gives an advantage, as you have a good command on your language i.e. the way you pronounce words and the way you talk in speed and your comments like "2 penny gawar" to Ranveer and "tacky camel"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shewta Gulati > Actually, I worked in the call centre for just four months. It wasn't of any great help. I have always had a good command over Hindi and English. Pokemon > Hye Shewta. Are you a divorcee and daughter of Farida Jallal? What is your email id? Tell PUHLEASE? Shewta Gulati > No, I am not. Both these statements are wrong. Email Id is shweta29may@yahoo.com Archie > Hi "Teeya", how are you? When is your birthday and besides acting what are your qualifications? Shewta Gulati > I am a graduate in commerce and my birthday is 29th of May. Gauarv > You are the cutest gal I have ever seen. Wish to God that I get a gal like you! Shewta Gulati > Thank you so much Gaurav. I will definitely pray that you get a girl like "Teeya (the character I play in Remix )." Saritha > Shweta, are you dating Karan? You guys seem very closely bonded. Shewta Gulati > No, I am not dating actor Karan (Ranvir in the serial). He is a very good friend and it took us a lot to work on our on screen chemistry. Tarun > How does it feel to be a part of the 'top 10 sexiest soap stars' (published on Indiatimes). Shewta Gulati > I wasn't aware of this. But since I've got to know this, it's a good feeling. Pokemon > Why have you rejected Ekta Kapoor serials if you have done a Saas-Bahu serial like Shaguun ? Shewta Gulati > The role that Balaji (productions) offered, didn't appeal to me. "Teeya" was something that I was looking forward to do. So, I accepted it. Tia > Tell us in brief about how you arrived from a call centre to this glam world? Shewta Gulati > Had gone for an audition with a cousin who was auditioning for a commercial and I was asked to audition too. And then, I was selected and after that there has been no looking back. Ginger_08 > Are you going around with anyone else then? Shewta Gulati > I am dating someone. Itsme > Hi Shweta! I am asking one personal question. When are you going to get married? Shewta Gulati > I don't know my self. Whenever I decide, I will definitely let you know. Jkdf > What do you like to do in your free time? Do you party a lot? Name your favourite hang outs in Mumbai? Shewta Gulati > I do party quite a bit. I party at Polyester (Mumbai), Squeeze(Mumbai) etc. I like eating at Mainland China (Mumbai) but if I am not partying, I'd rather hang out at home. I sleep and sleep, watch movies. Hina > Why did you leave Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar ? And, why don't we see you doing lead roles in serials? Shewta Gulati > I was the lead in Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar . I played "Tara" in it.The serial is no more on air. So I didn't leave the serial. And in Remix, I am one of the leads. Please > You look like a 17 year school student. How do you manage it? Shewta Gulati > To be honest, it's effortless. I guess it's because of my petite frame that I end up looking the age my character demands on screen. Cleoshere > Are you dating some one from the glam world? Shewta Gulati > No, not the glam world. Ginger_08 > How come Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar ended? Shewta Gulati > The story got over. Tina > What is your dream role? Shewta Gulati > There is no particular role. But would love to do a comedy. I think it is easy to make people cry but difficult to make people laugh. So I would like to try my hands at a comedy. Sarmishtha > So tell me something about your role in Detective Nani ! How did you bag the role? Is it a movie? Shewta Gulati > Yes, it is a movie. My director (Romila Mukherjee) saw me in Shagun and thought the role was tailor-made for me. I am playing the teenage lead in the film. I am playing Nani's closest pal in the film. Ginger_08 > Shweta, how long is Remix gonna continue? Shewta Gulati > If you guys keep watching it the way you do, it will go on and on and on. Prettypink > Hey Shweta, do you really talk like "Teeya" in real life too? Shewta Gulati > Yes, I do. In fact, I love "Teeya." When I see her onscreen, she actually brings a smile to my face. Her innocence is what I like the most about her. Watdahell > What's your scene after Remix ends? Do you have anything lined up? Shewta Gulati > As I said earlier, Remix will go on and on. As of now, I am just living "Teeya's" life and am enjoying it. Haven't given a thought to the future. Sarmishtha > I have read that you had voice training for "Teeya's" character! Is it true? You have really done great, performing this role of 17-18 year old girl! Shewta Gulati > Thank you so much for the appreciation. Yes, we had a workshop before shooting, which really helped me a lot to modulate my voice the way I do. Tania > Are films your final destination or will you still consider serials? Shewta Gulati > I haven't given a serious thought to films yet. This film, Detective Nani just happened to me by chance. I can see myself doing TV for a long, long time. Riya > How's off screen relationship with "Anvesha" (Priya Wal)? Shewta Gulati > Great. She's fun to be with. Quite like "Anvesha." I mean, a brat in real life. She's fun-loving and it's cool to spend time with her, off screen as well. Sign Off Message > To all the surfers - do keep watching Remix . It's your love and affection that keeps us going.
