Vikas Goopta opts out of PKYEK |
Well, what could have been termed as a perfect launch to the world of acting and stardom for creative head-turned-actor Vikas Goopta has now become a distant dream. |
Goopta has opted out of mentor Ekta Kapoor's ambitious project Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani, which launches tonight on STAR One at 8:30 pm. There were rumours that Kapoor was upset with Goopta, for he had divulged a lot more information about the show to an ever-inquisitive media. But Goopta, on the other hand, opted out of the project as things didn't turn out as expected. Incidentally, there was no mention of the actor in the press release issued to the media on the day of the launch. He was roped in to play charmer Siddharth Kapoor on the show, who has all the girls from his college chasing him. It is now heard that Balaji Telefilms is now keen to replace him with either of the two male-leads of Remix ? Karan Wahi and Raj Singh Arora. Reveals Goopta, "I opted out of the project as it didn't turn out as per my expectations. Everything has been done mutually and peacefully." We are now wondering how Vikas decided to quit the show at such an early stage, as on television, tracks are altered as per viewers' feedback every day. Had it been a hasty decision? "No, in fact, I think I am too late at deciding to opt out of the project." Vikas is currently busy doing theater, and is satiating his desire to bring out the actor in him. There are many other things in store for him apart from his keen interest in writing a book, which he refuses to divulge. When contacted, Wahi denied being approached, and Arora, who is keen on doing the show, says, "I really would love to be a part of the show and had, in fact, auditioned for the show, but the production house never got back. The show sounds and looks interesting, and I want to take up the right kind of project, as I will be coming back on television after a year and half." Keep watching the space to know who finally steps into Goopta's shoes to play Siddharth Kapoor on Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani. The show launches tonight at 8:30 pm. Fasten your seat belts to witness a unique dark love story, where the girl falls for a villain. |
