They felt like the roads never ended.Asking the driver, he said they still had few hundred hundred kilometers left on the national highway. It was 11pm now.
Pankhuri thought of those AlZia scenes, when She would be in his arms and he would be willingly taking her in. So nice those days were! Rohits minds were still filled with the fragrance of her hair and those lips. They both had become obsessive about each other.
Suddenly Pankhuri let out a laugh. Rohit turned to see her. A smiling face of hers was killing, and when she laughed, he thought that if she could keep laughing like this for all her life, he would give his life to her.
He asked,"Pankhuri, are you okay?"
"Ya. Its just that one of your stupid jokes came to my mind."
"Which one?" He asked with a wink. He very well knew he was very good at leg pulling and that his jokes were remembered by everyone.
"That day," she began," when we were doing that sword fighting sequence with Ankit, Mandar and Shiva, there was a shot in which you had to fall down on my lap." Rohit nodded. He enjoyed being with her for those few moments thoroughly. She continued," When the camera was off and you were resting in my lap, you told me that I was the punar-janam of Razia and that if Razia in that time had tortured Mirza that much, he would have left her and ran away with his Zaroon Miya!" She let out a small giggle again. This time he too joined her.
They had always shared a very healthy friendship, but they realised it was more now. Rohit thought to himself,'She was thinking about me. She was thinking about my jokes. Does she... Maybe. Maybe not. But I kinda do. "
With a screaching break, the car stopped in the midst of the fog of the lonely dark jungles. Pankhuri asked the driver,"Kya hua Bhaiyya? Ruk kyun gaye?" Rohit came close to Pankhuri to see what had happened. She felt him, but did not react.
The driver moved up his trembling finger to point at something. The fog cleared out slowly and now it was visible to them. It was not something, it was someone. Red eyes, a dagger in hand, face covered with a black mask. It was a dacoit. A wild dacoit.
Pankhuri's face turned blue. Rohit gulped. Pankhuri asked him "Rohit, Am I dreaming? What are we going to do know?" "I dont think so you are dreaming. I don't know. Stay still as for now. " The dacoit signalled them to come out. All three hesitated. But when he pointed the dagger towards them, they came out with their hands up. Rohit was sticking to Pankhuri, trying to keep him as safe and comfortable as he could. ...
