Few days ago I was listening to Khalil ur Rahman Qamar's (Pakistani drama writer) old interview about his new show "Sadqay Tumhare" and "Pyare Afzal's" Tragic ending..

His one answer made me so sad. Actually I could relate.

The interviewer asked why Pyare Afzal got a tragic end. He replied that happy endings are really common and how they are once forgotten but sad ending pricks our heart forever. They are never forgotten. They have a special place in our heart.

Same thing happened for Rangrasiya too? No? Though Paro's character end was only for the "TRPs" but still. I can never forget Rangrasiya mainly because how Paro was killed brutally.

Isn't it true? Sad endings are always alive.

Very very true.. while i was reading halfway in ur post I felt my heart constrict when I realized that is exactly the case with RR..and seconds later I read ur same thoughts on it..

I agree a sad ending would prick our hearts forever... cz honestly no matter how many times I repeat watch the happier earlier bits.. i cannot for more than a fraction of a moment forget that tragic ending.. that my Paro is not there.. and she was forgotten.. the life she should have had was snatched from her.. her baby.. her husband.. her sister.. her happy family.. her dreams.. everything stolen from her.. n I end up teary eyed.. n I honestly become bitter towards what happened..grief tends to do that to a person..

because of that very reason - considering I was one of those who were ready to watch an IPK with only Khushi and wanted it to continue, I now staunchly hold on to the opposite view.. that I am so relieved that it didn't give me that grief Rangrasiya gave me..
I might not get to see Arnav and Khushi every day.. but in my heart I will always know that they are out there fighting, laughing, teasing each other, loving and making babies and living their whole lives together.. its just that I don't get to see it..its ok..because they are together, with each other..

and despite having a happy ending IPK is eternal in the hearts of a fandom across the globe.. and when a show can give a happy ending and still be evergreen.. I honestly don't want a tragic ending...

I love reading stories with tragic endings.. but RR showed me I cannot take it when Sanaya is involved with that tragic ending...because when Sanaya plays a certain character I become too emotionally involved and I don't ever want to feel what I felt and still feel when I think of our Paro.. and all the what ifs, and could have beens and would have beens are utterly useless.. cz that void would never ever be filled..

so nope.. never again.. i don't want to see a tragic ending to one of her shows n though I always wish IPK continued, rather than ending when it did, I am glad it ended this way, with my ArShi together and happy.. a peaceful ending.. i would long to see more.. but still have that peace that they are happy..

For me Khushi was brave, fierce and everything a woman should be. ... .her running behind her husband to prove her innocence was because she loved her husband, and she was also aware how much that man was capable of screwing it up. ...when our loved ones dont see sense, we make them see sense, not leave them and run away. .. And Khushi knew what her husband was. .. She understood him, and welcomed all his flaws with open arms. ...and thats why it was Khushi with Arnav, and not some lavanya, lisa, pam or sam. ...
Khushi was brave, she was fierce...whatever she did was for the man she loved, and for the woman that man loved. ... And that doesnt makes her any less brave and fierce. ...

My point wasn't that Khushi wasn't brave and fierce. I just felt that she put everyone ahead of herself. Loving someone with all your heart inspite of their flaws isn't wrong. But you have to tell them exactly how much they hurt you. Which she never did. "Hum samajhte hain" will not work in real life for the long run. People will take you for granted, and you will feel the pinch sooner or later.
I really loved Khushi. She has been my favourite character, and I've loved her more than anyone else on Indian telly. However, I do know that in the real world, such a person would be setting themselves up for a lot of heartache.
