Star Onw was only 1 channel who was promoting these kind of youth shows (Remix,DMG,MJHT,Love ne bana di Jodi n GEET) but,that channel failed to generate decent TVC.

Love stories do very well at the movies, look at DDLJ still playing, I think. Why does it not work on TV? Because trp viewers love to watch typical saas bahu and saazish. Kaun bataye inhe there is more to life than that crap.

I never had much respect for the TOI. I live in Bangalore, and we have newspapers that are ten times TOIs worth. I have seen articles from TOI about another show, where the ML was pulled. Aspersions were thrown on his character, which TOI blindly published.

Their reporting even on Bangalore news is skewed, inaccurate and speculative.

There is no point writing about TRPs. TRPs, as confirmed by the I&B minister himself, are 10000 people meters fir 16 crore households. They are not worth the definition of a metric. I completely reject this analysis.

No yaar Why will I feel offended...?? 😊 I am not reporter of this Media Grop nor I am owner of this publication house. 😆 I was one who sharing I&B minister (Mr Jawdekar) statement abt this TRP mess (out of 10,000 only 8,000 is in working condition )

I am just sharing a lame xcuse of these PH/Channel for justify their TRP oriented (typical Saas-Bahu) projects. 😳

Oh ! please dont even get me started on the amount of crap that is being dished out at Prime time TV. I am actually wondering if the TRP audience is really insane to go for plots like ... a spirit captured and kept in bondage .. ( WT***) ..or a serial which has had 6 marriages of the FL... 6 damn it ! 6... is it even marriage !!!! 😲

Some have plots in which the antagonist is after a poor child's life and she would do ridiculous things to just finish her off?

Another one has the mother coming alive after 26 years of being declared dead !!!! Others have plots running across mass slaughter of all the characters in the serial and the single handed triumph of evil... Gosh !! what is all this ?

What are people even viewing? Mr Prashant Bhatt has his serial UT running on Colors which is why he thinks that Romantic stories do not have a shelf life. Please understand Romance is a genre of it's own and has a lot of potential to work if played out properly. I think romantic shows have the most fan following or are we fans of vamps and kitchen politics !!!

TRP is another stupid meter.. GOD knows where they are installed and who watches such shows. Clearly a sadist bunch of people. 😕

Thanks for sharing Joseph.Thats lame exuses that only Saas Bahu shows gets good trps.IPK was lovestory full story about Arnav Khushi mixed with helarious comedy, that show reached 2nd position on trps some times Till last episode that show got decent trps.But when ever they showed Anjali stuff rona dona trps used to drp drastically.Tarak mehta is another example that show proved does not need rona dhona show to achieve sucees.That getting trps eqally as Saas bahu shows.

Thanx J 4 sharing this article. Its really sad that they are using a very wrong xcuse for defend their pathetic routine projects. Only for TRP pressure now,Indian Tele is losing their experiment capacity.

'Novelty' n 'something different' word is not applicable in their running projects b'coz, more-less they all are in same boat.

I doubt the young genre want kitchen politics..RR had it all,,,,action,sizzling romance chemistry to connect to the viewers...no,the incharges are not viewers and do not want to let go of trp aunties who are watching kitchen politics...Colours do not have the dare to have patience and let go of the Old and let the new run.They seem to panic at every nook. No future vision of enlightenment and thus messed up Rangrasiya. I for one get put off with the same stereo type kitchen politics and saas/ bahu/woman jealousy which Colours or its likes vouch for...Its boringly showed gramophone times Thanks for sharing this Joseph.

@bold you mean these craps are garnering trp??? Gosh!!! I tried watching some of the trp rocking shows during my recent break...( wanted to see wht made them garner good trp) . Whatta waste😕

1st show- (my reaction) i thought the leads to be siblings till they show them 'romancing' .. Even that was 🤢 I was like you two should take lesson from my parud on how to scorch millions of screens around the world!

2nd show-- *head desk* *head desk* *head desk* ..😕 I was this close to shouting at my screen.. ' oh you idiots--theres such thing as communication-- 5 mins of communication between you two will solve all your problems and end the show! Gosh you should learn from my parud the art of communication!

3rd show- total massacre of 'history' *facepalm*

4th show-- nevermind!! Almost the same puke worthy reaction!🥱

Agree Sri ! Their pathetic xcuses are so funny...how can they judge youth choice if,we are not TRP viewers...?? They should be consider On-Line popularity to judge Youth like n dislike. IPK was Hit because,It was on SP. Some viewers religiously follow that channel shows.

Govt. should be work on rectify this TRP mess. Its really sad thing that,only 8,000 families are representing entire India choice.
