Great Post! And I agree...with everything!
I don't watch anymore, and I'm going to be honest I can't say I regret my decision. It's not because I don't love Ashish or Sanaya or don't support them anymore. Because I do...I really do! But not watching something you don't enjoy doesn't make anyone any less of a fan. Fan's are allowed to give criticism and feedback about something they love (or once loved in this case). This version of Rangrasiya just isn't for me. If I don't connect with a show I'm not going to force myself to watch it...and Rangrasiya 2.0 is lacking in essence. The characters Rudra and Myrah will never fit...give Myrah a tragic backstory and even then, they wont fit, you may get me to empathize with her a little more but that's it. Just by giving a character a little more depth it wont automatically mean that they become right for the other character. It doesn't work that way. The character that was right for Rudra was Paro...because they were written for each other...no third person.
From what I have read if they're going for the Myrah falling in love with Rudra and then Rudra finally falling for her (cringe) storyline, then Dhruv would have served as nothing but a plot device and emotional factor for the audience to accept and maybe make Rudra and Myrah justifiable (according to the CV's). It's obvious storytelling at this point.
And no this in no way means I don't believe in second chances and whatnot, but this is a TV show where you portrayed two people as soul mates...even if their love stories end was destined to be tragic...it should have ended there.
I miss what this show was TRULY about, what the characters portrayed and symbolized, what kind of hope that induces within a person...that soulmates can exist, that a love like that can exist (even though it's just a tv show). But that's what makes a tv show right it's meant to evoke all kinds of emotions, make you get lost in a world that is at the end of the day just fiction and yet you can't help it. That's what I miss.
Also like you...the rural rustic setting was probably my most favorite part of Rangrasiya...the dialect...the culture...the clothing. It made Rangrasiya. And now it's just an empty show with talented actors..it's trying to find footing but I'm afraid they lost it when they killed Paro...taking with her the many other aspects that made this show unique!
I also hate how the majority of the Indian trp audience could not accept a darker show...a darker love story...passionate yet innocent...angst ridden yet with a glimmer of light and a promise of a better tomorrow. Delicate issues and promising storylines. I wonder when that day will come when trps no longer exist and shows like this can be depicted as they were meant to be and that will be a time I will think back to a show called Rangrasiya.
