Now will tell why its applicable to the Colors overall low TRP issue this year.

The point I am making is a show like BV which even when it was beaten at the time slot in the ranking list it still managed to hold on to its TRPs at that time while IPK held on to its own TRPs! YET BV is also going down now!

And considering SP shows that r long running r doing just as well as they always did, its just not saturation of concepts etc. cz unlike in romances social/saas bahu/family dramas r like chewing gum and the TRP audience stick to them like glue!

So isn't that something to do with the channel? Or is it still the show's fault alone?

And that show was Jhansi Ki Rani... It was a huge hit for Zee tv...
When IPKKND become the slot leader it had a well mixture of romance and drama whereas Balika was solely thriving on Jagya Gauri Anandi Triangle...
Congrats to Ipkknd for beating Bv dat time...
Viewers fatigue is a major hurdle for daily soaps

they had that gehna anandi track plus Surekha Sikri mam was unwell

go and ask any viewer of Balika Vadhu
they will tell you bv thrives on drama
when drama is at peak trps are at an all time high...
Once the Dashing Shivraj Shekhar made his entry Bv had a fresh lease of Life
No show at 8pm was even able to touch Bv that time
trps reached plus 5 during marriage and engagement tracks
SidYusha as AnSh became a huge rage
but Pratyusha went in search of greener pastures
the show started dipping and is now at its lowest
I ask you whether ipkknd had survived if Avinash or Viraf came in place Of Barun...

trps rose when they brought JaGan bt even Sriti Quit
with so many replacements in same year and lack of story do u expect a show to work well

the lead is no longer a Balika and therefore they are just stretching it like a chewing gum showing social issues

Now ur 2nd Question
I will blame both the Parties concerned
ie Channel and the Producer...
Both are equally to be blamed for the mess...

I agree the channel is not doing well
but Zee Tv too had suffered the same period in 2011-12

Then it launched Punar vivah Phir Subah Hogi DID
thereby new shows brought freshness to the channel and it bounced back

same thing will happen with Colors
they have some interesting line up as well

^^Abhi bhai Ipkknd was at second all across GECs with the ratins of 4.9
It was highest for ipk when dabh was 5.2

Hriddey It did get 4.9trps
but here I am talking abt the tellybuzz article
which states ipkknd beats bv
bv had 3.2 and ipkknd had 3.4
this was the first time ipkknd beat bv
so I gave this point

Even I know Ipkknd had very good trps

Oh God...why is ipk again in the discussions...am sure ppl will start bashing it here too...why not just discuss abt present shows...i am really tired of seeing ipk being dragged and often being bashed everywhere...i am not saying that everybody is bashing it here...but soon it will start am sure.

Abhi buddy no issues ...some ppl are overtly sensitive to sanaya's previous show and jump to defend it / report threads etc so better not to bring it ...

interesting discussion , here is what i feel

colors is not a star plus agree there but star plus also IPK was not a chart topper from the 1st episode , they worked their way up , the quality and plot improved , yes they did modify a few tracks like the office track to home etc , but they didnot fully give in

eventually they established a connect with the characters for a 'certain audience' , that resulted in curiosity , and so the dance sequence etc resulted in huge trp gain

thats is a product's or makers success

here with RR , they were not able to establish the connect with the audience , forget trps ,lets take forum as a sample ,its a biased sample because people have much more reasons to watch the show , still i see a lot of inactive IDs these days , half i say , thats the trp numbers

so how is the channel responsible , there is drop in everywhere

BV IPK or RR the audience might be very different but reason to success is the same establish a connect with a certain audience group, make that audience curious to watch the next episode , make it a habit -create loyal audience base -this can be done only my the makers , channel is a support function (unless the channel interferes in the basic plot itself)

channel can be held responsible if in other platforms the show is hugely appreciated except in one platform , thats a distribution error then , here thats not the case

the fact colors doesnot have trp topper show , but any show in colors has the platform to be a trp topper show (BV or KNWK example) soi whats stopping them -content

other shows of colors is also not doing well only means the content or the intrinsic quality of other show is also lacking

PS trps and quality are not fully correlated , that i agree , some amazing shows were not trp toppers , some trp shows are not amazing , but i am not sure if RR fits into the any of these categories

PSS no offense intended , i understand the concern , but i will quote a friend in IF , criticism is because we know they are capable of more :-)
