I am quite certain that the reaction on every RangRasiyan's face, question on every RangRasiyan's mind was and for the days to come is - WHAT WAS THAT? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? What unveiled was truly magical; it was something that has never been seen; never experienced before.
First things First and I am sure that you guys will agree with me when I say that what was shown in Friday Episode, everything that happened between Paro-Rudra is easily and by far the best and most powerful love scene (in terms of acting, execution, direction, camera work, script etc) one would have come across at least in the past 10 years between the lead characters of an Indian Soap/Hindi Serial. What was shown should be carved in Gold, framed and hanged for all to see because the entire team of RR who brilliantly conceptualized, enacted and executed the episode not only left the audience breathless and in awe of what happened but took TELEVISION ROMANCE to a new and higher level. A bench mark has been set as to how the romance of a newly married couple or for that matter any on-screen couple should look like.
The unplugged version of "Muskurane Ki Wajah" was perfect to showcase Paro and Rudra's love, their want, desire and passion. The ambiance was soothing to the eyes and senses; the setting looked real and genuine. In short everything was tastefully done and most importantly it was shot aesthetically.
This is not the first time Sanaya and Ashish have delivered such scenes effortlessly. Even earlier the actors had no hassles while doing such intimate scenes. The Haldi wala scene anybody? How often do you see something of that intensity and sheer brilliance on small screen? Almost Never, but Yes! This time the makers and actors have undoubtedly raised the bar on the romance-passion angle by leaps and bounds and have placed Sanaya and Ashish in a higher league. It's very rare to witness raw passion and sensuality on small screen in all its glory but RR managed to pull it off with ease and perfection to the T.
While the entire episode set the screens ablaze what stood out was that at no point, not even for a fraction of a second did it look forced or the actors uncomfortable. Baring 1 or 2 minutes, the entire episode was completely dominated by Paro and Rudra. How often does that happen on TV? How often do makers take their sweet little time to showcase love and romance without any interruption? An episode takes approx. 18 hrs (minimum) of work and when it comes down to doing such scenes, which have to be done keeping in mind the sentiments of viewers, the comfort of the actors, perfecting the scene etc the 18hrs can easily become 20-22 hrs or even more. Which technically means that these actors kept that flow, rhythm, feel, magnetism etc intact for those many hours just so that they could succeed in delivering something phenomenal. The scene has broken all the conventional concepts of on-screen romancing and set a new record. It speaks highly of Ashish and Sanaya's COMMITMMENT and comfort to their craft. In order to show the level of intimacy Ashish and Sanaya showed on screen the actors should be mentally prepared to deliver the best which is a not an easy feat and these two nailed it. So I would also say PROFESSIONALISM at its best!!!! Special Mention to Sanaya and Ashish's respective real life partners too. Wondering why??? It's simple because not all fiancs/spouses/partners are supportive and understanding whether or not they are a part of this medium. In an indirect way they too contribute to the outcome of such scenes and so hats off to them as well.
Very rarely do we come across episodes that even adjectives fail to describe because no matter what it wouldn't suffice. So why not just dive straight into analyzing as it was all exceptionally brilliant.
Rudra tying the Mangalsutra: The reason this moment stood out was because Rudra who tied that red-thread to hurt Paro, to humiliate her and make her life a living hell, himself took it out and tied the Mangalsutra showering her not only with love, but also the respect she deserved. Rudra admits that it was a reminder of the hell he put her through and how it painful it was to see that thread on her neck even if she wore with high regard. Rudra is a highly volatile person and so far it's only Paro who knows what to tell him and how to deal with him and we see just that when Paro averts Rudra's attention before he could drown in the guilt of his actions by reminding that he could never keep up with the 8 Vachans. And this leads to the duo making just one promise and the only one that matter "Main, Tu Hamesha".
Rudra's First Kiss: Physical proximity or relationship is not new for Rudra but LOVE most definitely is. If Rudra wanted he could very well kiss Paro forcefully, but he did not he was ready to try and comply with her wishes. On getting the idea of creating snow with cotton he gives her what he wants, lets her enjoy and take in the moment, finds joy in watching her smile and only then does he make his next move of planting the kiss on her cheeks. Even then he does not rush into the act and unleash all the pent up desire and passion on to his beautiful wife, instead he enjoys every moment of their closeness before kissing Paro.
Another point that needs special mention is that it was actually Paro who set the ball rolling by kissing Rudra. She had no doubts about what she was doing, it was not easy for her but it wasn't that big a deal too because it was her husband. Paro was pretty chilled out about kissing the man she loves for the first time which is once again a first on Indian TV. She took her time to kiss him and once done she was not in a hurry to run away which is the usual norm. Instead she faces him with a small smile and walks away calmly like it was not a big deal and frankly it was not. The fuzz and halla behind getting such scenes done on TV is beyond anybody's understanding but after seeing this one can say with confidence that this is how it's done!!!! Paro is a gaon ki gori and by definition she should be all shy, coy etc but the character merges as one of the most powerful and modern (thoughts and actions) female characters on TV.
The PaRud Pillar Scene in all its entity was the best. When Paro's kiss Rudra the other day it was a way of telling him that she loved him and was touched by his gesture to help her find Maa sa. But when Rudra kissed her for the first time it was like a confirmation for Paro that there is love in his heart for her too. She was excited and all set to tell him what she had discovered but before she could complete the sentence he starts to tease her because he knew what it would do to her. Firstly because he has seen her melt to his touch, secondly because Paro herself confessed that she couldn't move, work, think properly when he was close to her or looked at her and thirdly because he enjoyed the effect he had on her because all this was new for him just like for her. Paro finds it hard to form words and complete her sentence, but who in their right mind would be able to do so while being taunted and teased in a way that it tingled every inch of your body? Paro did not push Rudra right away which is a rare sight to come across when it comes to small screen romance and foreplays and eventually when she does push him away its to tell him what she found out and most importantly because she wanted to feel and relish what she had just learned by saying it out loud- HE LOVED HER TOO!!!!
One can clearly see that after saying it out loud Paro looks at Rudra for some sort of confirmation. Rudra however does not say anything but advances towards her and keeps gazing her in a way that it would set her body on fire. He feels her nervousness and thus puts her to ease by kissing her eyes.
Symbolism: A kiss on the eyes symbolizes assurance; it means she is the world to him. And also in an indirect way that he will kiss away all her tears and place only love and happiness in them. You can clearly see the difference in Paro's demeanor once he kisses her eyes and slightly moves back. It's only then that she takes a step forward to show him how much in love she is with him. She cups his face in her hand, lets him feel her love, then lifts herself and kisses his forehead.
Symbolism: A Kiss on the forehead symbolizes comfort, respect and love. She not only conveyed her love but also told him through her action that he was her pride. It is also a very protective and comforting way saying "We'll be together forever".
What followed can perhaps be tagged as the highlight of the entire episode and that clubbed with RR's new BG score "Dheem thana" just took the passion quotient to a newer level. Rudra blows away the cotton lock which was resting on Paro's collar bone and I am sure all of your RangRasiyan's out there will agree with me when I say that it was way more sensual than actually kissing collar bone. Paro standing on Rudra's foot has become PaRud's signature style and when it sets your screen on fire every time it's done I say bring it on!!! Unable to bear the way Rudra was affecting her sense, Paro climbs upon his foot, holds the collar of his kurta tightly and gives herself into the moment.
Daadi chubti hai: Classic and very Original. That one line added more realism to the whole hubby-wife angle. So Kudos for keeping it fresh and real!!! Even Rudra smiled perhaps amused at Paro's innocence or because he was reminded of how he teased her with his beard that morning when Paro complained about the same assuming that he was asleep. That followed by the almost liplock where they were less than an inch away from actually doing it, was indeed the perfect way to end it.
The Actors: Ashish and Sanaya were living the role of Rudra and Paro. Having seen Ashish's body of work there was no way one could expect anything less from this fabulous actor. Ashish is an actor one who knows to use his strengths like his expression-eyes and face and body language to adapt to the particular scene he is doing really well. And here too he gave it his 200% and delivered Rudra flawlessly. Coming to Sanaya, well she was on fire, she delivered what was expected of her with equal fervor gave barabar ka takkar to Ashish. That choked voice showing how effected she was, expressions ranging from shy to nervousness to joy to peace etc Sanaya was bang on.
Kudos to the makers for not only thinking out of the box but also delivering what they had visualized because in Hindi shows 98% of the time it's about foreplay and mostly it's seen and been there done that types. Which means beyond a point there is nothing new that the viewers can expect which is a challenge in itself as your are required to be more creative and Hats off Team RangRasiya as they have nailed it!!!!
