BEFORE You Write Your Usual Paro Bashing Post...

For three nights now, I signed into the forum, read the posts that were howling at the moon in anguish at the thought of Rudra's upcoming pain while tearing Paro's actions, in-actions, happiness, dukhi-ness farts and smarts all to shreds. Its been ...interesting. All of a sudden, shades of IPKKND, have invaded the forum--anyone daring to say-- "umm, I disagree" to a post that did not deify Rudra Dev and did not hate Paro were immediately asked to either not post, or post when they had returned after intensive treatment at the "Rudra Worship Center for Bhatakti Hui Baisas."

Its a very dangerous sign for a forum when these kinds of post happen with any regularity. My theory is that its getting to be like IPKKND again, and I will not stay quiet this time, Baisas. My experience there with Arnav / Khushi camps was with one of the most vicious forums on I-F, a place where the waters ran bloody with the daily sacrifice of good manners, tolerance and reason. Every DAY was hellish, and we were all like abuse victims, coming back for more.

I saw what happened to reasoned debate, to friendships, even to calm good sense when trolls invaded, and were allowed to chomp away at perfectly normal, nice people with viewpoints to share.
So I am going to say this---its not okay when a small, vocal rabid fan base of one fictional character are pretty much ready to go for the jugular of another fictional character. I admit, the past three days with the mocking of Paro and the analysis of exactly how many pieces Rudra's heart would break to was funny because it was so hilariously childish.

Poster after poster admitted they had tipped over to actually falling in love with a FICTIONAL MAN and wanted him to sniff...sob... be...just... happy...you know? Like happy-happy? ...and he ..HE...(sob).. he has such nice HAIR...and..oh god...(clutching at a heaving throat) ..he ...he SO... deserves ...so MUCH...MORE...than...(breakdown). I've had fun imagining the people moving from normal sensible debate to stroking each other's heads and arms and necks and other body parts in support as they took turns sitting with a shotgun outside Rudra's haveli, waiting for the first clear shot at that horrible bitch Paro.

I get it. Its always awesome when you love a character. Its the first step to becoming invested in a show, and its even nicer when people you like and respect, friends, dare I call them, share your obsession. But guess what, Baisas with the forks ready to actually gouge out Paro's eyes for being... well...Rudra's opposite in every way. When you refuse to allow people to post in your post, when you INSTANTLY answer everyone's post with your own defensive comment-- you don't allow others breathing space to respond to each other and constantly interject yourself into the dialogue because its YOUR Rudra, or YOUR Paro dammit...it makes for a toxic enviornment.

It makes people leave, makes them delete their work, or their posts, it makes them dislike having to deal with negative vibes when all they wanted to do was have a few fun minutes reading funny and interesting posts, and not artificially jacked up, shrill ones. It makes the forum LESS active, and that is bad for us all.

And no matter how damn funny it it to those of us reading (initially) your mental meltdown with a cup of coffee and a derisive smile--its our forum too. This time I, at least, will call you on your bullshit and ask you to back the hell off of each other's throats and be respectful no matter who you worship, and who's ass you thinks farts rainbows...before I see another forum I truly enjoy and love fall apart.

Monster out.

PS: And if this post just pissed you off---I probably meant it for you.

Please tell me you are going to provide a detailed proforma for making Paro bashing posts.. Will be damn useful around here.😆
Edit-

Jokes apart, thanks for this post. I'd been feeling really confused in the last few days. I'd been away from IF for a while and on returning it seriously felt weird. Back then after each episode we had such a variety of posts from serious analysis to humorous takes and of course the adoring ones too.. But now finding one worthwhile post where something fun or meaningful is being said, without blind adoration or blind bashing is becoming a challenge.

Instead of wasting our time dealing with such posts, everyone who feels the situation is going from bad to worse, lets do something positive. Make positive/meaningful/fun posts and make sure such posts remain on the first couple of pages by replying only to these. Seeing these negative post right in the first page is a huge turn off.

Much needed post ... I made a grand mistake once to tread on a certain post which always floats on the first page with same old broken record whining that why Paro is so chirpy and not moping around 24/7 reminiscing her vows and after that believe me I avoid it like plague ... Now only open posts seeing the username
Same old broken record is absolutely not my cup of tea and don't want to ruin my mood by certain super biased irritating posts...

By the way, when will u update yesterday and tomorrow series dear :((( dying here waiting :(((

Oh I get what you're talking about here, I have seen those post and it's now becoming a everyday thing taking lame shots at Paro, those discussing aren't healthy or balanced at all rather irritating. I only open it 2 times and thats it after that I never view seeing the usernames is enough for me to stay away.
I am not that active on this forum at all I just come to read episodes takes from good and balanced members like MKM, Jyoti, tvbug & then take the exit.

I sense history repeating itself here so that's why I'm staying away.

Napster bai sa...Waiting to see where you are going with this...
But
Is there a category called criticizing Paro's character traits...that is not the same as "bashing Paro"?
I am sure you have something more interesting than this simplification...
I am for equal opportunity all the way...male, female, butterflies, camels, praise, criticism...whatever...😃
However, I will also add that criticism has to be done with respect...calling a fictional character "dumb" is offensive to the characters fan base...and this applies to BOTH female and male characters...It is no more OK to call a male character dumb than it is to call a female one so...
Equal Opportunity and Equal Respect!

Hayye meri Sherni! Come here 🤗

I have so much to say about this.

This week, I have found the episodes intolerable. So much so that I didn't watch the show today. It is also possible that the forum, and not really the episodes that makes me bitter and sour. Who knows? But this is also the show that promised me a wonderful story at the start. I might keep coming back, but the forum is simply tiring.

Having said that, I visit the forum for some wonderful people I have met here. I don't want to lose touch because they are smart, witty, sensitive, and sorted out individuals who make my virtual experience worthwhile. I have seen sensible, discursive posts disappear for the sheer lack of maturity on the forum. I have also seen funny posts dwindle because people have issues with sarcasm, "mocking", and "vulgarity". If I'm denied laughs, I cannot remain interested. And what is with Paro bashing/Paro defense wars? It's okay if you don't agree with a character, but is she the only thing wrong in RR right now?

Additionally, one major issue is that people conflate characters with actors. Paro is NOT Sanaya, nor is Rudra, Ashish. So, if anyone says Paro is not making sense, stop assuming Sanaya's acting is getting criticised. Similarly, if Rudra is seeming too mellow, it may or may NOT be Ashish's "fault". Stop shoving the "but-he's-a-method-actor-he-can't-be'wrong" idea down the forum's throat.

And yes, camping makes 0 sense whatsoever. If a single character suffers, the other cannot compensate for that. So, everyone needs to work equally well. It's nice you feel for these celebs, but they are somewhere distant. Fictional characters don't even EXIST. Why the maatha-pachchi?

One may find a scene cute, while it might not work for others because of the creative mess created (masses like me). If one who didn't enjoy the episode posts, it doesn't mean you A) shout them down, B)label them "bashers" C) pass moral judgments on them. I say this because not ALL posts are written negatively, nor are they outright dismissive. Plus, there is just a screen and a few words that connect each member to the forum. Is that sufficient basis to judge the actual people behind the usernames?

If one liked the episode, great for them. Why don't people leave that thread alone, and let the TM and reply makers be happy?

It is everyone's forum. It is also a source of feedback for the creatives, however flimsy that might be. Unless critical posts make an appearance, the gushing and mushing over episodes will lead the show into complacency. (I like to delude myself with the suggestion that they're chasing TRPs).

Rant over. Peace out.

A much needed post ... thanks for taking the bull by the horns, NM!!!
The atmosphere on this forum is becoming toxic, reminding me of another forum which fell to pieces because of the intolerance and fanaticism ... as opposed to just fandom ... of a certain fanbase. So far here it has been limited to a very few people ... but that is enough to spoil the atmosphere of the entire forum. Already I see a decline in activity of the forum, and less fun posts being made ... and this is when the poison is fairly contained in one or two threads at most ... but that's enough to pollute the entire forum with its viciousness.
I can laugh at those people ... I can shrug them off, saying their opinions don't matter to me ... and they don't ... but what they are doing is counterproductive to their own favorite, if they would take a moment to realise it. They're splitting the forum into two ... making members who enjoy the acting of BOTH the leads uncomfortable and irritated, and forcing members to take sides. This has happened before ... I really don't want to see it happen again.
