I don't know what Paro understands...I find it hard to understand how much she understands...maybe you can interpret her feelings better for me😆

Yes, Laila was an informer for Rudra who used to spy on various people for him to get info...

Hey, they talked today na and he broke down. Now if Laila is there, that also won't happen! 😛

LOL..Ok I think Paro understands part of it. Not that they had an affair of 8 yrs. But the fact that Laila was the only person who was close with him..who he opened up to and talked on his wounds with her..All this picked up from the haldi scene. 😆So they were very close 'friends' for 8 yrs she understands. This picked up from today's scene. 😆 But they had physical relationship, hmm, I don't think she even thinks that far. So that is the key here. The day she knows that, she will plan to leave him with Laila!

I honestly don't know what to say...I guess people just can't digest the fact that a man can also have his weak moments and cry over them...that doesn't fit into the IMAGE that people have in their heads of the quintessential "macho" hero...

To me, the moments when Rudra breaks down are rare insights into the depth of the turmoil going on inside him that he otherwise tries so hard to keep at bay...it makes him more human to me, I connect more to his emotions then...he doesn't become any less in my eyes simply cuz he cries.

Over dramatic? What show are we watching here then? Where exactly is there NOT drama in this show? The whole premise is larger than life and theatrical...hence the breakdowns will be like that too.

Also I must say it's funny that people complain so much about his breakdowns...Half of Shakespeare's classic heroes are busy crying over their misfortunes and confusions through most of the plays...

I don't understand what the problem really is...the fact that Rudra is human enough to have moments of breakdown or that people think Ashish isn't doing justice to Rudra's emotions by not crying in a more MANLY way😕😆...how exactly does one show these kind of emotional/breakdowns then? By shedding one solitary "macho" tear with a stoic expression?

Ah. No, don't get me wrong. I don't have problem with him crying. In fact, I love it when he opens up.I loved the first part of the episode where he shared his past, his pain with Paro, held her hand and cried. It was amazingly done in my opinion. It was all fine till he started walking to the door. Maybe the camera angles? And then that "dhina din" music later! 🤢 For me, that part was over done. Everything else after and before was fine. Maybe if I watch the episode again, I might change my opinion but that particular scene wasn't as enjoyable to me as everything else in the episode.

I do agree that this show is over dramatic but despite that I have always enjoyed all his scenes till now. SO, I don't know what was off in that scene. My mood or the scene itself!:/

Promo scene finally plays out and how beautifully. I must say writers is one good bunch in RR. for me, story is real hero. they got diverted in between but are back it seems.
This bit where you say
"The way he tells her how he's spent his entire childhood waiting for his mother, then spent the rest of his life shutting her out from his life and not wanting to ever see her again but she turns up after all this time to laugh at him and his inability to move on. "
is such an irony.. He is unable to move on. just when he starts to open up to Paro, another past comes glaring at him on his face.. Laila. A relationship he never valued more than his comfort, is there to shake the foundation of another relationship where he wants to move ahead, the minute he started letting his guards down, there comes the past.. challenging him to go ahead.
I think Laila's entry has come on precise moment.. where it has potential to bring out Rudra's insecurity for Paro to Not know what place Laila held in his life. for he fears to lose Paro's love, trust.
all in all, Ashish rocks. He makes RR worth watching. such brilliant acting. 👍🏼

Thanks!

@bold: Totally agree...from a writing standpoint, this was an apt moment to introduce Laila into the mix...these are the demons that Rudra has to battle...he's hesitant to open up but whenever he starts to, something shows up to haunt him again...this time it's Laila...Mala will show up later I guess to haunt him again😆

I also want to see how he handles his past with Laila now showing up in front of Paro.

LOL jitna aaj milaa hai, I'm grateful for that...who knows when they'll have a heart to heart like this again...Laila or no Laila😆

You know another bit I liked in the scene? The way he was rubbing his finger over her hand while holding it and crying...nothing static about that scene...so many emotions that pull you in.

Ah ok, sorry if I misunderstood you. I guess I was reacting more to the general comments in the forum where people jump to label Ashish OTT anytime there is a breakdown scene of Rudra's😕

Ok so you didn't like the corridor walk? lol I guess I loved it for the drama of it...they were trying to highlight just how much Rudra is HAUNTED by his past...the DREAD in him as he slowly walks to the door scared that he will be faced with Mala after all this time...so they needed such theatrical tools to HIGHLIGHT that...a simple walk to the door wouldn't have brought that out...and I feel those were actually some of Ashish's best expressions in the epi.

ok i will make a long post here about Rudra/Ashish.
dont we all know that Rudra is inspired from othello ? if we know about it then, we all must know that othello is a shakespear's tale and how shakespear's heroes are tragic and full of emotional breakdowns.

Still judging Rudra's breakdown scenes ? firstly, they cannot restrict him to an intilligence officer of army only, his life has so many angles, and kudos to the CVs for dealing with every angle, especially the one which has affected his life in such a vulnerable manner.
There have been complains on how Rudra breaks down daily, or how he is not allegible to be in the army ? Really ?
the last time he broke down was back when he had seen maala's picture with tejwat, and moreover he was drunk. His father had slipped to coma, mother proved to be the wife of a terrorist, and he should not have reacted ? how does that challenge his balance and intilligence as an officer ?

after that day, his latest breakdown was in tonight's episode, and lemme make sure that his breakdown was not out of the blue, they had set the stage, he was being emotionally manipulated by his father, his collagues, his wife to let go off his fear, to accept his love, didn they provoke him to go all in his knees tonight ?

If he was disbalanced, then why do we think that he would try and push paro away from him ? why would he be curt with his father ? why would he swallow the tag of being a monster and still never allow his love/attraction/affection to dominate over his exterior self and ruin his mission ? WHY ?

let us just imagine/guess, god forbids, if our mom would abandon us, and we would have no clue of her whereabouts, is she alive/ dead, happy/sad, she wanted to take me with her or not, or am i being abandoned because i did not deserve my mother's love ? all these questions just rip off one's soul, tears out the humanity insidem because there is no CLOSURE to the wounds, to the search, to the questions. Rudra grew up like this, he said it tday that how he could never play in his childhood, never live his childhood, but spent it with wait and belief that she would come back. how tortured his soul was, wasn't it visible ?

But still we wnat him not to breakdown ? because he is rustic and has a moonch ? or because that will gain sympathy for him ? or because it is really easy to ignore someone's grief and force him to believe in present and survive ?

Lastly, this show is a drama, Rudra is an author backed role, his role as i had earlier stated, gives an impression about the hero of a novel, a play, and not about a random hindi serial. His role has many layers, and every layer must be explored, and this time it was his grief.
Moreover, he never breaks down randomly, he broke down only in front of paro, and didn't Paro provoke him to do so ? she wanted him to let go off right ?

PS:- whoever thinks that Ashish overdoes it, i cannot imply my POV on them, but one thing i will definitely say is that, Ashish has been ultra convincing and believable with his emotional scenes, his switch off from one expression to another has been so real and flawless everytime. Time again, there is no point in criticising him by calling him OTT, because neither that will take away the essence of his scene or the impact the scenes create. Only because his role overrrides the FL, does not make him faulty here. He has the potential and CVs are utilising it, thats it.

Wow this forum is truly amazing...

Some things I've learnt today.

1) Army men never cry😆

2) "Real" men never cry...ones who cry once in a while over a traumatic childhood are mocked for having mommy issues and called crybabies.

3) If you have a traumatic childhood, better get over it FAST and NEVER have any emotional baggage...especially if you're a man...so what if your mother abandoned you and your father poisoned your mind for the rest of your life?

4) Don't cry, just be "macho" and ROMANCE the leading lady...all is forgiven then😆

these two shots.. let me just grab them again. how brilliant can one be. sometimes life takes more from us than it gives. Rudra's state ws similar, and how well it got conveyed.
