What an apt post!

Don't know what to say to the ones who think Paro's character has been butchered.

Firstly there are too many comparisons being made to Sanaya's previous character, which is so wrong to do. I would call it an insult to the actor for she definitely chose to do RR to try and do something different.

And now many are finding it difficult to accept this new first time ever CHARACTER of Paro.

I was glad where in one of the SBS segments she refused to act like Khushi when told by the journo. She stated she had forgotten how she played the role.

And that is what needs to be done here by many, Disengage oneself from her previous role. Don't look for a Khushi in Paro. The minute we do that we will find the character of Paro as being first of a kind...close to one of the mythological ones...set in a modern day setting.

I believe ST has chosen his Paro to be the way he has visualized. Its unique, rare and something that can only be seen and experienced on screen.

About Laila - I mentioned this on another post yesterday.

Tough luck if ST chose to ensure RR rejected 8 years of Laila love. Uski story uska choice!

Once again a wonderful post 👏

This is the best post that I've read regarding Paro's characterisation and the reasons behind her actions. I did have some issues with Paro being too stubborn and showing no sign of anger even when Rudra questions her character but now after reading your post, I completely understand Paro's POV. For her, she understands Rudra is saying all these out of anger. She will never leave his side without him understanding her.

Exactly. Paro knows that Rudra doesn't mean any of what he says because his actions contradict his words. When he tells Laila that he doesn't love her, she can see it in his eyes too. But when he tells Paro that she is no one to her, Paro sees the opposite in his eyes and thus her insistence to stay. I am glad I could help you think in a positive way :)

Completely agree with you. People need to look at it from Paro's perspective, keeping her culture, and values in mind. Please do not evaluate this from your perspective.
This is set in a village where the norms and cultures are different.
Paro is a village girl and her believes are logical and rational from that perspective.
We need to change our lens when we view her.
The CVs are showing us things that happen.
India in the villages is different from India in the cities.

Neither is she despo nor is her current behavior out of character. Her behaviour is in keeping with her character.

The profound simplicity of her mind is beyond the understanding of our complicated analytical mind. Her simplicity has a logic, it has a reason and more than all that it has crystal clear clarity with an unshakable conviction. A kind of conviction that our questioning minds cannot comprehend.

Paro is not from your land...please travel to her place to understand her.

Thank you for the thoughtful addition.

I didn't know about the comparison bit with her previous character. But to me Paro is far more dignified, confident, and sensible than Khushi. The only reason people started pointing fingers was when Paro decided to make Rudra see what she sees. Khushi wouldn't do such a thing because she did not have Paro's mindset at all.

In the villages people have very different cultural values. They could die over saving their relations even though that would look so naive to our sophisticated, individualistic mindsets. Just because they are different doesnt mean that they are less civlized. We have to understand that these are just two different modes of life and we are no one to judge others.

Very beautifully written.
Paro's behavior cannot be seen with worldly eyes.
She is the epitome of faith in the unseen, and is way above ego and self respect.

I love this characterization and is un-typical of the regular angry man-bubbly girl having ego battles and nok-jhoks. Been there, seen that so now I am enjoying this new kind of love story and portrayal of the faith driven FL.
