<staring blankly at laptop, speechless with awe and wonder>
..
..
..
<slowly regaining the ability to type>
..
..
..
And here goes.

A story about Dilsher and Mala? Wow!
And from Dilsher's perspective? Another wow!

I loved how Dilsher drew parallels between the three significant women in his life - how he sees them sharing a love for God and for the pooja-path that surrounds Him - yet he identifies how Mala and Paro are so different - one who disrespected it all and the other who will undoubtedly uphold and honour all her beliefs.

The father-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship is something that is so innovative and beautiful in RangRasiya - deviating from the cliches of saas-bahu altercations on Indian television. And has been portrayed so beautifully in this piece as well.
Her devotion to him, her concern for his health and her firm assertion of a right to take care of him - makes Dilsher unable to refuse her anything.
He is ready to overcome all odds and unhesitatingly does whatever it takes, to keep her smile intact.
It was so sweet, the way he feels that he should fill in the gap of a mother-in-law in Paro's life and arrange for her sargi.

<<The femininity, the incense, the sense of anticipation was palpable.>>

It most certainly was palpable to us readers, what with your description of all the sounds and the feel of a temple, where celebrations of a festival are on in full swing, paying such attention to the minute details.
I have always thought it ironic that the colour red - considered so auspicious - the colour of bridal wear, the colour of sindoor - is also the colour of blood.
I wonder why you used this simile here though...

Dilsher's thoughts on Rudra and Paro were very well-written- how he silently laughs at Rudra's helplessness (empathising with him at the same time) when it comes to Paro, how he alternates between pity for Paro (for having a Jallad for a husband) and pride in knowing that Paro has brought his son back from the darkest dungeons of hatred, how he actually holds a grudge that she dared to almost die, during childbirth.

<<Rudra, as relentless in domestic life as he was in his professional one kept trying to peer into Paro's mind, demanding to know all her thoughts, her every emotion>>

:) This brought a smile to my face - I can so imagine Rudra being this fretting, worried husband - however noble his intentions may be, this restlessness will show in all his actions.

So about the secret that Paro baisa has been keeping, that leaves her pensive and distracted?
Is she on a mission to bring Mala and Dilsher together?

It was an amazing update and I enjoyed every word as I was reading.
Looking forward to more... of Tomorrow as well as Yesterday!

Last but not the least...
Paro and Rudra have twin boys? Awww!!
😃

Love that this is about Dilsher. Really like the Dilsher - Paro bond, both in your stories and in the show.
So this is about Mala's repentance. Like.

Words fail to describe the beautiful way you have written this OS. Just caught up on parts I had missed. The story unfolds so beautifully, and the contrast between yesterday and tomorrow, so well depicted, at the same time you keep all the people involved, in character. How do you manage to do that is beyond me! Its almost like a movie!!! Can't wait for the next update!

Holy sh**. Did that just happen? When this OS was entitled Repentance, I was thinking of something along the lines of Rudra repenting to Paro but never this! You just blew my mind! I can't wait for Part 2!
Thank you for this series! You're an incredible writer.

Loved reading about Dilshers pov but hope their is some Parud coming up, Rudra needs to repent too! Having said that so does Mala, if she actually is in the wrong. It'll be so interesting to read what your version of Mala's story is as the cvs haven't given much indication yet as to why she left her family in the show. I'm sure you will do it absolute justice!

For sure, my child! Trust your napstermonster! But seriously, Yesterday is ALL Rudra/Paro. But for Tomorrow, I needed to start this side of the story, for Mala and Dilsher to re-engage--and affect the the lives of their children. The Tomorrow arc is moving the story further, and the Yesterday one is catching up, so this made sense, story direction wise--there will be Rudra, Paro, and a Karva Chauth in the next installments...and then..YESTERDAY will (i hope) satisfy all the khoon ke pyasi thirsty aatmas here!

Mala and Dilsher- they are the base of the Paro and Rudra story. They influenced both to become what they are now. I was absolutely not expecting a repentance story from the POV of either Dilsher or Mala. This will certainly be a tale. I wrote a short OS on my take of the Mala/ Dilsher story. I wanted to try to see if I could figure Mala out. You are making her into a very pious woman; I had her the other way, lol. Please read my story if you get an opportunity. Anyway, I am very intrigued by your tale and I want to see what happens when Dilsher's adored bahu is revealed as the person who has brought him and Mala together again... I think???? I do like the Paro and Dilsher bond. I also portray that bond in my stories I think it's a very special relationship, especially given the way they met and the way his son treated her and Dilsher always trying to stand up for her. Will wait patiently for part II.

This is repentance of not rudra but mala. Loved the change in both father and son and the love and affection both are showering on paro. For a man who was disillusioned and hated females, this is such a change for dilsher. But will this change extend to his wife, has to be seen.

I read the update bang in the middle of the night, and when I went to reply, the IF "database" was getting updated. Couldn't access the site for the longest time.

Anyway, first things first. I love parallel stories, especially because I'm a creepy little voyeur inside. The Dilsher bond was all encompassing. The vigilant, indulgent man that he is, his eyes gave me the most refined, and lovable perspective on PaRud. I miss this on the show, Dilsher in his element. I'm glad you added the FIL flavour.

By the end... as usual. Whose repentance? This was the question. I appreciate your seamless transition from one relationship to the next, in the most balanced way possible. There was the mother, the daughter, the son, the husband, and the wife- all held together by the narrator. I noticed today, there were no dialogues. Yet, this piece spoke volumes by itself.

It was a long awaited update, and I can happily say, it was worth the wait.

You have amazing grasp on emotions and a way with words. You write so beautifully that one gets inside the story and characters completely. All your characters are mesmerizing and have a depth to them. Thank You for sharing such a wonderful story.
Absolutely loved Dilsher's emotions and how he loves Paro. Much more excited for Rudra's repentance.!!😊
