The CVs lifted the veil off very many characters today and gave us an insight into what drives them. But they also showed us some alternate roles that a few of the characters could have excelled in.
Rudra's New Role: It's uniforms all the way for Rudra Bhaisa. Just exchange the olive fatigues for the white coat. Rudra was so convincing as a medic, that he didn't even need a stethoscope or thermometer to shore him up. His two-handed pulse-check was admittedly outside the norm. But who's to say it was less effective? And the temperature test was super-quick so that he'd barely touched the patient before she pronounced herself recovered!! History-taking, however, could do with attention.Rudra's Revelation: He was going crazy with worry for Paro. After all, she'd already showed her face in the village. There was danger. What if something had happened to her? That's why she needed to account for her movements to him, even if she was only going to the loo. On second thoughts, maybe not the loo... Did they actually say this 😆Paro's Revelation: Unfaltering trust in Rudra's abilities to keep her safe. The revelation disarmed the Major, and us. Rudra need not worry, because Rudra would keep her safe. The logic may have sunk the Titanic but it floated Rudra's and our boat. 👏Sumer's New Role: Junior Interrogator. He does all the dirty work, but then rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty can be soo satisfying! Sumer's fluid back-handed slaps across the face smacked of great proficiency. There was a certain elan as well in the curl of his lips as he got to grips with his alternative career, which hinted at hidden talents. Unfortunately, his superiors remained unimpressed and tended to micromanage.Kakisa's New Role: Chief Whip. Yes, I know it doesn't seem so much different to what she does normally. But it's the nature of what or whom she's whipping, via minion, that makes the difference. Finally, her talents are being applied beyond the immediate family circle, with equal impact. Which hints at potential for much wider usage. So what if she micromanages - "don't make so much noise" - she's a perfectionist.Thakursa's Man's Revelation: That Paro is like a daughter to Tejawat, who's searching for her, for what reason he didn't know. In all fairness to him, it wasn't the cheek-rouge that loosed his tongue. He gave freely of his words thinking that he'd receive some in return. But how was he to know that the value of words as a currency had outstripped the dollar, sterling and the Euro put together. He was never going to get a single one that counted.Thakurain's New Role: The Spy Who Returned, Briefly. A variation on The Spy Who Left Them, a role which she has played successfully for 15 years. Which accounts for her unsurpassable skills - her ability to extract information oh so casually, to vanish like a ghost into thin air, to help the down-trodden without being busted, to run fast, to keep face when caught, to remember the questions in a tight spot, and to see herself to her own car...Dilsher's New Role: As Keeper of the Thakurain's Conscience. Based on his stunning ability to find the Thakurain's soft-spot "Won't you even ask for forgiveness for what you did?" being a particularly potent twinge, effected even while unaware of the Thakurain's identity.Danveer's New Role: As Bouncer. He was successfully able to evict the Thakurain without having to lift so much as a finger. Just a murmured "Will you see yourself to the car or..." was sufficient.Kakisa's Revelation: Jealousy and sibling rivalry!! A lifetime of these corrosive emotions against her much more popular younger sister (surprised?) are what give us this evil witch!! That's why her two-fold happiness when her sister ran away and in one fell swoop became the object of everyone's hatred. The doting husband, son, and the parents who clearly favoured her over Mohini. And yes she has another axe to grind against Dilsher.Laila's New Roles: Alternatively as Head-Mistress and Potential Fiancee. Unfortunately, neither role appealed to Rudra. He would not be called to account for his actions, or offer a word in explanation. Fiancee, he dismissed out of hand - he'd no right over her, nor she over him. And he owed her nothing, and neither did she owe him anything. So Laila rubbed his face in his mistake: she may not have before, but now she would owe him and Paro something...nasty.Thakur's New Role: The Cuckold or The Husband Who'd Lost His Hold. Or so he thought, excusably, after all why else would his wife leave him to head out in the dead of the night if not to visit either a lover or find Paro baisa in Chandangarh? And he played it old-style, but inimitably, oozing class, designer clothes, dishevelled hair, and with drink at hand.Thakurain's Revelation: The biggest one today - that she'd gone to visit her son in Chandangarh. The son who was getting married. The son whose name was Rudra Pratap Ranwat!Lots of fireworks today!! The PaRud equation is changing. She trusts him more than he does himself, and he's already crazy about her before he's even married her!! Profound shifts, if only PaRud would not turn their back on them. The Rudra-Laila shift is clearly evident to Laila, although Rudra still thinks nothing's changed. But Rudra is now aware of Laila's potential to cause trouble.Kakisa was revealed today as not just the sharp-tongued, power-crazy, disenchanted house-wife, but as a woman capable of murder. Shades of Iago and Lady Macbeth in one. Tomorrow, this murderous woman and the delusional Thakur will join forces to flag-off the juggernaut of destruction against poor PaRud. My hopes now lie in a double-cross, or of course in forces beyond all their control. In showing us these new sides to their characters, the CVs gave us a few delightfully humourous moments. Such as Paro's "Bathroom??!!" and Kakisa's "Quietly, don't make a row!" to Sumer. 😆 Compelling acting everywhwhere, although I thought both Ananya and Ankita overplayed their roles at times. But Ashish, Sanaya and Tarun were sure and measured. And Sadiya is beginning to grow on me. Kudos to Team RR for a truly dhamaakedaar Tuesday! 👏👏👏Waiting for the big explosion tomorrow!!
Thank you Jaz. 😃 It was a brilliant episode. Too much going on to cover at length all in one place. But also plenty of moments that touched my funny bone.Awesome review tvbug, I would say more but to tired. You summed it up ever so brilliantly
