Her wide eyed expression was OTT and there wasn't a great deal of difference in her expression between today's anger and earlier scenes where she's been irritated. If the scene worked at all it was because of good direction with pulling out the knife, powerful dialogues and the right expressions from Ashish. I felt nothing for Laila, Ankita just didn't make me feel even a tiny bit sorry for this girl who's facing her worst nightmare as far as Rudra is concerned. True, I don't sympathize with the character but today I should have felt something for her even if she brought this on herself but instead I found her irritating and would have been happy for Rudra to use the knife on her.

This scene could have been and should have been so much more but for me is totally forgettable. Unforgettable in my view as far as RR is concerned would be most of the scenes that happened in the interrogation room whether they were Paro scenes, Rudra scenes, Parud scenes or the scenes with the supporting cast. Paro's breakdown on the first night, the gun pulling scene and then of course the mirror scene will be among those I remember long after the show is over.
Even as a dancer Ankita has failed to impress especially considering she's a trained dancer. With the first dance I gave her the benefit of the doubt that the choreography was bad but today it's apparent that she doesn't have a dancers grace and that makes her performance at best average or below considering she's trained.

No your not in the minority that is
this thread is in the minority...there are many abound that takes her apart and even ridicules her weight ...

To me however its nothing personal just of what i have seen even compared to her performances before she pulled it off. I think the measure of her reactions and anger were just right if in some places it did spiral out it suited the scene and Ashish assisted quite well...
Yes direction and screenplay dialogue was all good camera and editing all came together today to enhance the scene...but i would not just leave at direction alone for that whipping out the knife scene ...finally it rests on the actors...

Re Dancing I did not find her equivalent to a nautch girl but she was like any other girl I have seen...
you say she is trained ...what kind of dancing is she trained in?

Also its very curious to see so many comparisons to Paro and PaRud scenes i fail to see the connection...and i mean this generally in many who donot think she was good...

Your opinion bro and you are entitled please dont apologize.

I saw the scene you mentioned above but there she fell short for me ...i guess the whole scene really and her acting did not stand out ...

so today worked not only on her acting per say but on many ingredients...

and as for dancing no comments cos while i did not find it fantastic it was not that bad either...(but I hear she is trained and depending on what training ...the evaluation would change lolol)

You misunderstood. I did not apologize. The sorry was a figure of speech. I do not apologize for my opinions. Especially when they don't hurt anyone.😊

I guess we'll agree to disagree - on the acting and the dancing. 😊

I find her best scene to be the first one. Even the one where she's talking to Paro is good. In my opinion, Ankita is good as the seductive Laila. Every actor has a strength, some are really good in emotional, some in comedy, etc. For Ankita, she does the seductive Laila really well. Which is why when I saw the angry Laila today, I wasn't so convinced. So for me, today wasn't Ankita's best. I've seen better from her. Her dancing is fine, it's not horrible but yes for a trained dancer, I expected her to be a bit better. And she has done a certified course in music and classical dancing. There was a really old article on that:

Just watched the epi and I have to say I did not hate Laila today. Laila and Rudra scenes today were needed and it was executed well. The dailoguees were extremely good

BUT that being said I still won't say it was a stellar performance or a extraordinary performance by Anikta, because I still feel that she tries TOO hard but comes across as very stiff in her acting.

You made my day...🤣
Seriously her acting was ott...
I didn't feel a single iota of sympathy for her...
She was trying too hard as an actress...
Her heartache didn't strike the chord with me as a woman or as a human being...Madhuri's performance in pukar has raised the bar too high for me I guess😳
Secondly laila's dance was average...it doesn't feel like she has any classical dance training...
It was ordinary...
But your comment ...extraordinarily funny...I almost spit as I was having dinner ...my hubby laughed so hard when I read comment aloud to him...🤣

finally watched the episode
ankita was good , she portrayed laila's pain ans sense of being betrayed beautifully , this actor has potential
i liked the wedding family bonding also
slightly deviating from the topic
the cvs have really made rudra an irresponsible officer
he wanted nobody to see paro and he had this wedding celebration
inspite of laila saying that she can endanger paro , he didnt feel the need to sort thing out
explanation is the word very critical for his job !!!!!
if he gets thrown out of BSD i wont complain
i say recruit kaki sa , she is smart , she figured something is wrong with that man please note rudra was also present at the same place he didnt notice the man

There have been way too many posts on this forum ridiculing actresses for their weight, either for being too thin or for being overweight. Here though I think part of the issue is if Ankita's body type suits the role and I think that's fair to debate if it's done in a decent manner. Personally, when I think of a Laila type of character I think of someone earthy looking and beguiling, someone who emotes with her eyes and someone with a dancer's grace and figure and I don't see any of those in Ankita but that's just my opinion and personal preference.

To me however its nothing personal just of what i have seen even compared to her performances before she pulled it off. I think the measure of her reactions and anger were just right if in some places it did spiral out it suited the scene and Ashish assisted quite well...
Yes direction and screenplay dialogue was all good camera and editing all came together today to enhance the scene...but i would not just leave at direction alone for that whipping out the knife scene ...finally it rests on the actors... whipping out the knife is one that I would give totally to the creative team because how it needed to be done was up to the director and the concept was great, for me it fell flat with the dialogue delivery and look after the knife was on Rudra's throat. The anger and pain needed to be portrayed as though Laila was spiraling out of control but for me it was more Ankita's performance that was spiraling out of control...the lacking was not in the script but in that final step that you mentioned earlier that 'finally it rests on the actors'.

Re Dancing I did not find her equivalent to a nautch girl but she was like any other girl I have seen...

According to Wiki she's certified in music and classical dance though it didn't specify which classical dance form.

Also its very curious to see so many comparisons to Paro and PaRud scenes i fail to see the connection...and i mean this generally in many who donot think she was good...I haven't read through too many of the replies so I don't really know what others have said but for me it wasn't about comparing Laila with Paro/Parud but talking about scenes that mesmerized me, which I think was one of the points you raised. Ankita/Laila has had limited scenes but significant scope for making an impression and for me she's failed to do that. I don't know Ankita as a person and my opinion on her is based solely on what I see onscreen and this is now the third show I've seen her in where she's failed to impress or make an impression.
