On the flip side though, she is supposedly a naive, gullible and simple girl who has barely seen any world, and has hardly any exposure to male company. Its legitimate that she is confused about appropriate reactions. However, that theory is also debunked because at other times, she shows iron resolve and will power to fight a much more powerful man like Rudra.

All in all, Paro's character is a highly unspecific, and contradictory narrative. I don't think the makers have thought through her character beyond trying to set the stage for forced physical proximity between the leads and pass it off as hot romance. This is hardly new, all "intense" love stories follow the same formula.

I totally agree with you SJ on Paro's characterization. Having seen their earlier serial, I know these CVs are very good in shaping up one of the leads elegantly, while totally ignoring the other... I am afraid to say many things about Paro since I don't want to invite the wrath of fans... In the last serial (controversial), I have always taken the female lead's side in all the fan wars because I empathized with her more... I could not understand what the male lead did many times... But here they have done a good homework on Rudra's character. I personally understand what he does and why he does it, including the latest "sexual harassment"... I am not glorifying his actions, but I can understand why he is doing many things (at least so far...)... What is Paro thinking? I am not sure... For the life of me, I cannot understand the way paro behaves under the current situation... I have to ask myself the question again and again "Now, why is she here in Rudra's house???" Then I have to force to myself the explanations given by her (CVs)...

Leaving that aside, I think it is futile to discuss too much seriously about who is right, what is wrong etc. Only because the makers just create scenes that will appeal to the mass without putting too much thought into it... So if I don't think too much, I can just enjoy the scenes and satisfy the needs of an eternal romanticist in me...

I agree with not thinking too much about the characterizations or scenes. I find both Rudra and Paro very nebulous and even other characters in the story if we think very deeply.

Asking for a big wedding with all the rituals seems to go against his BSD duty to safeguard Paro. So, his getting back at Kakisa seems to take precedence of his need to protect his witness. He is losing his plot between being a BSD officer with a goal, getting back at his aunt and the pain of being an abandoned child. There are scenes which are contrived to fit the story and not the other way round. When Paro sang the same song in hospital it did not trigger memories but yesterday it led to a breakdown, knowing fully well mom-son track is coming next.

The earlier plan of letting Paro go to her village in a public bus after the charade of the jeep blast to protect her was so ill conceived and was done just so Thakur could renew his search for Paro. If we go with a microscope pretty much every character defies logic.

Remember Rudra will do anything for his uniform. Like he said in one of the previous episodes, his work is the only thing that he lives for. He has not crossed the boundary yet; he is slowly with his actions trying to make Paro feel uncomfortable so she can sign the papers.
Paro on the other hand is very innocent. The reason she is putting up with his tactics is she knows she is right and there were no smuggling of guns or dealing taking place between her village and her goom's people. She has never been this close to the opposite sex and is feeling or sensing the attraction but she hates him so much that she will never acknowledge these feelings.

But i believe there is a very fine line between hate and love and Paro will not realize when she has crossed that line.

If this is a method Rudra is using to get information or confession from a suspect - then I don't think we can say that it is wrong.

Intimidation is a universally used means for the law enforcement officials .. and there are several methods of intimidation -- like physical and mental torture, solitary confinement, blackmailing, trade off etc etc. Depending on the character & nature of suspect, the officials use them. So Rudra's using physical intimacy as a means of intimidation is just his strategy and he knows, given the type of woman Paro is, this particular method might give the best result.

Of course, question remains whether Rudra's considering Paro as a suspect is justified or not. Since that is not the topic of discussion, I won't go there..

Regarding the unspecific characterization of Paro: Sketching the character of a female lead(in most of the romances on desi tv- movies or tv series) has always been in accordance with the male lead...she is there to legitimize is attractiveness, virility; if he is a dark and tortured hero, she is to be innocent and is meant to suffer to bring him back to happiness, she is supposed to be the victim of so called romance (often a veiled form of intimidation, sexual harassment). Hence it changes accordingly from an admirable mature lively woman, to a silly clownish girl
Here Paro's confusion is an evidence of Rudra's mastery. the story wants her to be strong girl (for now) to keep up the tension, and harassment romance keeps our eyes glued.

What irks me often is that our storytellers can hardly dissociate between romance/wooing and plainly harassing the girl at very step till she gives in.
