hey NB
i sort of disagree
not once did i feel they showed paro is physically attracted to rudra
there were some confused scenes where she was not angry enough(my favorite madumaki scene)but attracted no
i just see her trying to stay sane , calm and not react because she is not at her home or with her family

i have a issue with the guy hurting the girl multiple times and realizing later she was innocent and guilt changing him track i dont know if that is what these guys are planning to show

i ffind his advances highly inappropriate and meaningless , because obviously there is no attraction or love
even if he is attracted makes it more wrong

i liked the song connection though ,recollecting about his mom with her presence(bad execution) i think these are ways to connect you entirely different people
hatred is as strong as love can keep people bonded and mind share just as in love

here she knows it is wrong ,
in the former the parents or the people involved in the 'forcing' ensure it is right for the child (most cases) a more cultural factor
as i mentioned not a fan myself but i dont think it is even comparable to this story

If you forget that it is a show with Paro and Rudra as leads and we are waiting for them to start romancing and if Rudra was not this handsome that we wish he was romancing us, what he did to her was wrong (mildly put)... I would abhor him if I were in that position...
But since Paro challenged him and said that she is ready for marriage if that is what it is going to be, then she needs to be ready for this. Right? I for one will not be ready for something like marriage, that means a lot more than what he did that day, in a similar situation... She is sacrificing for her people.. Then she has to be ready for what comes out of it, I guess... She did not sign up for a verbal duel but marriage that involves physical intimacy... of course then one can argue that she has no choice... But I disagree...

To sum it up (Not taking any sides)- I think what he did was wrong but I also think she can stop it if she wants to...

I agree, she needs to explicitly ask him to stop sexual advances.

On the flip side though, she is supposedly a naive, gullible and simple girl who has barely seen any world, and has hardly any exposure to male company. Its legitimate that she is confused about appropriate reactions. However, that theory is also debunked because at other times, she shows iron resolve and will power to fight a much more powerful man like Rudra.

All in all, Paro's character is a highly unspecific, and contradictory narrative. I don't think the makers have thought through her character beyond trying to set the stage for forced physical proximity between the leads and pass it off as hot romance. This is hardly new, all "intense" love stories follow the same formula.

What Rudra is doing to Paro is called sexual harassment.

Unwanted sexual advances, not reciprocated, encouraged or liked by the recipient, who is in a weaker position in the power equation.

We know Rudra is the next best thing to happen to Paro, but Paro does not know that. To be in a strange house, with strange people and forced to go into an unwanted marriage and deal with sexually charged advances of a overwhelming man. it has to wreak havoc on a supposedly 21ish year old girl.

Ofc, we don't want to call it that because then it breaks our nice little romantic bubble. Time and again we romanticize and justify unwanted male attention as a prerequisite to love story (movie RRajkumar for instance).

Had Rudra been a bald, ugly man, none of this would have been very appealing to any of us

Your post is BANG ON SJ.

There is nothing appropriate about sexual intimidation or sexual harassment. It is not, never was, and will never be anywhere close to romantic...and I for one don't enjoy any scenes like that...irrespective of how attractive looking either one of them is...or how sensually the scenes is shot for a viewer ... as I already wrote in my post, as well.

While it is true that not everything that the characters do will be appropriate ...They should be careful not to offend the viewer's sensibilities in such a way that turns people off. One way to move, where the character has to do something inappropriate for the story is to make the character aware that what they are doing is inappropriate and not be so blase about it...

I don't think we need to analyze and read between the lines. If we start analyzing every single move made by the characters it will be hard to make serials or movies. We are not expecting any social reformaties watching this serial. We want to entertain ourselves watching shows that have potential. When we know the lead role intentions is just to intimidate to achieve his moto is to make her sign papers and avoid marriage, we just have to see how it goes.

I couldn't agree more, lets leave it as entertainment and draw no conclusions or lessons for real life. However, viewers do like to talk about the show, some via hilarious posts, some via fanfictions, some via analytical discussions and some via fangirling.

all part of forum ecosystem.

It was wrong but they atleast didn't show it as a love scene by playing the Rangrasiya theme song during the scene so I was personally okay with it. If the RR theme would have played then I would have complained such things shouldn't be shown off as a love scene.

Paro didn't pick a fight with him nor yell or overact because I fell she knows it well he wouldn't cross his limit and this marriage is a punishment for him as it is for her.

exactly my issue , always the male character is very well sketched to an extend the audience almost have a clear reasoning to each of his abusive reaction , dark past , abandonment, dad's non attention and what not
with almost 80+ %female audience how is it justified that the entire attention is always on the male characterization, i dont find difference between paro and the girl in any other regular show of any channel that has ever been aired(except the actors ofcourse)
who is this girl what does she believe in what is she calm what is she thinking except the titali ofcos
we just know she is meant to be patient , compassionate and sweet and change rudra take his darkness away seriously ?????

not a sustainable model
