I definitely agree with you. By definition Rudra isn't honorable, however considering he might have an a skewed perception and definition of honor, I might give him time to redeem that honor? Look at the examples he has around them. Now before everyone jumps to slit my throat- No this isn't justification. But I don't believe everything is black and white. There is always shades of grey. Honor is more than wearing a badge, and saviing a woman several times. Honor is that even though you might be cornered, you are objectively able to fight back, and uphold your integrity, and dignity as well. I believe he posses all the qualities of being honorable, and having integrity, it is just being overshadowed by his bitterness and hate.

Its fiction Semanti... Anything can happen to being them close and together and if the CVs would have looked at the scenes making sense then all the hit shows would have flopped.
Though his act is not honourable in real life. But, the character of Rudra still pleases me. :)All the work is done for TRPs and no morals or limits are involved.. :D
Hey,, but Rudra is not supposed to be '' honourable''.. From day 1 he is shown to be a professional who goes out of his way to perform his duties,,, The means may be not be '' moral'' but ultimately his intentions r quite clear..

Sem interesting discussion. I'll be back later with my thoughts.
exactly...he is asking her to sign against thakur without any valid proof...a great officer thinks before he acts...it's not about acting with power, it's acting with your brains and he definitely doesn't have one...is this the way a witness suppose to be treated...sometimes I feel that I am watching a different show altogether...why would he want to protect her for any other reasons other than he needs her for his selfish reasons? He took the slap because he wanted to defy Mohini...he is a captor and is territorial with his prey...in other words no one has the right to punish his prisoner other than him...his little acts and dialogues are no better than kitchen politics for me. It almost seems that kaki is the new lead opposite Rudra...all I see kitchen politics going on between them.
Yes yes, but plea bargaining would work if Rudra was accusing PARO (even if I leave aside all incongruities of process). Here, he is merely asking her to testify against Thakur. Rudra doesn't have a scrap of evidence against Paro and he knows it. So the question of avoiding a lengthy legal procedure doesn't arise-- which is the whole point of plea bargaining. He is just asking her to stand witness for the State. And has threatened all manner of violence if she doesn't, while agreeing to let up on the intimidation if she does. That is not plea-bargaining.
I agree wholeheartedly. We only overlook this because this is fiction. We'd hardly be having the same discussion if any of this was real. 😆But it is interesting to note how far we make concessions for fiction and how much deviation we allow.
Probably no point making this post...because we all are in such bad mood since Tuesday that we are ready to completely wash Rudra's character...nothing I say will help...And of course the screen play is never so tight to tie all the loose ends...so if we get into the details...there are many things that may be found...BUT let me try...before we all conclude that there is only one side to this and that is all negative...By pointing just a tiny litle detail about the story they have made isRudra is keeping Paro in his house ...to keep her safe from the attempts on her life...His plan was to send her back to her village after she testifies...but the plan backfired and the entire village refused to recognize her...something he wasn't expecting...and he found no cooperation from Mr. Singh...hence the last resort to take her to his house...Now there is no end in sight of this impasse...while he is at the verge of losing his job...without proving the cause he has been fighting for...accepting that all the loss of life was in vein...The situation at home is volatile and not sustainable...the marriage pretense was something that happened without his knowledge or approval...So he is pressurizing Paro as the last resort...to get the truth out...with a time limit...He has neither abused her sexually nor does he intend to...He has not harmed her in any way and actually has stayed as a shield between her and all harm...So, the picture painted by your questions is one sided...and has no consideration for any of the above...If you flip the question on its head...Is is a dishonorable thing for Rudra to try to break Thakurs ring of prostitution under the pretense of false weddings and arm deals? Is it a dishonorable thing for him to keep Paro at his house under the circumstances? Is it dishonorable to play along the pretense that they are engaged? Is it dishonorable to try and break this status quo? While I understand we want the hero to be the super human to accomplish everything without hurting anyone's feelings...perhaps a little leeway to the character will help us all...Just my opinion...l
