So far the show hasn't disappointed me. From their first meeting, I knew that no matter what happens between them - even though Rudra killed Paro's husband and they hate each other - there is a softness they have for one another and the show is showing that well now. That is the USP of the show, after all. I also expected that a family would become a central force, as it is a Desi show and you can't have the lead actors alone the whole show and you need to try to play up the TRP audience.

Basically, my expectations were not high in the sense that I expected something totally out of the box or even up to par with non-Indian shows. I know that Indian shows have/need a certain formula to become popular, so I was prepared for that. My expectations were high for acting, character development and costumes/set design and so far, I haven't been disappointed. I basically wanted to be engaged and RR engages me everyday with the myriad of emotions that the characters go through. None of them are perfect, but that's why I'm tuning in.

i think the pace is a bit slow its abt 21/2 ths n the pace hasnt picked up the cvcs have to speed up to get initial trps n then they can slow down i love the show but the fact is trps are saying sonething else n it wld be a sad thing if the show is taken off bec of poor trps since the incident where paro lost her husband the pace has slowed down cvs please speed up trps should at least be 19 n slowly go up to 2

"Did the makers expect too much out of the TRP audience?"

THINK.

IT.

OVER.

Heart of the matter. Correct. 👍🏼

i loved the performances n d premise...the cinematography was top notch, the music was great but sumwhere they arent showing exactly what they promised!
there has been too much of unnecessary drama n d family thing...also it was promoted as a love story n targetted at the younger lot! i think sumwhere d urban youth who hardly watch hindi tv ,cant relate to the premise n d dialect!
personally i cant, i cant begin to imagine this kind of a lifestyle or situation n it all seems so backward!
the intense love stories that have worked b4 like geet,IPK n MB were more youth oriented but RR in its entirety seems like a show which would cater to av BV , DABH type audience...had it been marketed n promoted that way, the show probably would have done great!

its my personal opinion, i while watching it found the acting to be top notch,i discovered how much hidden talent that gut ashish has but overall for me at least the plot, the thakur business n the rural culture is a big no-no.
i think the mixture of the 2 genres isnt working out as both these genres cater to a widely different audience!
so for me its a decent show but in no way can i follow it up on a regular basis or obseess over it like i did for a dmg or a geet or an ipk...my attraction is purely the performances n d behind-d scenes effort which is very visible on the show!
having said this, i would also like to say that maybe im expecting a change in the tv viewing experience n am disappointed as there is currently no show on these mainstream gec's that r able to hold my interest for more than a span of few seconds...other than a frequent watch on channel v, for me at least this stagnant n regressive nature of the tv industry has taken away my patience...so my comment might seem to stem from a result of frustration over not receiving good content!

My expectation was bit unrealistic till the first promo, but after I saw the promo, I got an idea regarding the nature of the show.

To be honest by the time CC ended all i prayed to gods was for another love-hate story with Sanaya in it cz that seemed to be the only genre i was willing to digest. I didn't care if it was the old wine in a new bottle or new wine in an old bottle! I just wanted to watch a love-hate story with a good actor opposite her! BAS! I didn't have a single other expectation of this show. I was willing to take anything provided the above things were in it! I just wanted a show I would want to watch for the show too and not just tolerate cz she was in it.

And yet I was pleasantly surprised by RR, the feel was great the concept and treatment was good. But well actually what had me delighted was that Paro was NOTHING like Khushi! I have been honest that this show equals Sanaya for me and everything else I got was bonuses.
So to see her taking up this completely different role and seeing her acting put to test and stretched to extreme and seeing her getting in to the character was my own treat. And I cannot say I have been disappointed even once with Paro's character sketch. I love Paro!

And then Ashish happened and i loved their jodi and he is a fab actor and is matching her well. So another box checked.

Now came the supporting cast and the treatment. Honestly after coming from a show which was a shoddy product put together in a rush to say the least, the production values of this show being good took a different level altogether.
And I love the whole ambiance to the soul stirring sound tracks designed for the show. So another check box ticked.

So then came the TRPs and the necessity of a family. They need a side-saas bahu track, which forgive me for comparing it with Sanaya's other love-hate story.. just like there they kept the main leads out of the direct path by not having a MIL for the female lead. There is always a limit to the influence an elder female saas can have if she is not the ML's mother. And thank god it was maintained here!
And better yet they got it a step ahead by not putting a ML who respected that woman an iota! So Paro having no choice but to listen to the saas or bowing to that other woman doesn't arise.. So on the side the saas has her own bahu.. now that is good too! Let it be there for the TRP aunties who like those.
Plus a special mention about the creatives for writing Masala chachi in a way that I who detest such characters actually am enjoying her scenes despite wanting to go in and give her a slap! I thankfully don't feel like fast forwarding her parts which would have happened if they wrote another Kokila ben or Bhabo!
So another plus for me.

Then comes the whole different angle that has not been explored yet. BSD-Thakur-Thakurainsa.
This has been put on pause as Tarun Khanna who essays Thakur is on paternity leave. So I think he is back and they can move this story forward now on that side too, which adds the unique flavor to this show.

And thank god they r suspending Rudra from BSD! I was wondering why no action was taken as its only realistic to expect him to have to face the consequences for his actions!
cz we know and Rudra knows that he was correct, BUT the crux of the situation is that he doesn't have a single proof. So i expected him to be punished. And its happening. This being late is i can assume is due to Tharun being out as the whole set of them r needed to move this plot forward.

Also it has been 7 days in the time of the story from the moment the border fight happened despite it been so long for us. So its actually realistic time for that part to happen..

So overall, I am not saying its a perfect show. It can speed up at some points as far as screenplay is concerned. But the thing is what they show makes me enjoy the show. I like it. Even if they don't change even a bit of it, i would still like it more than any other show on air right now.

Anyway once again telling, I am relieved I can love Sanaya's new show for the show itself and not only cz she is in it.. And that was my last wish too coming true.

So well this is in NO WAY an unbiased POV.😆
But then u asked about our own expectations and these were mine and as they have been fulfilled completely i am one happy viewer! Cz as u can see i didn't want the sun and the moon from this show, i had some very simple expectations and they have been fulfilled by the makers..

I just wanted to love another show by Sanaya again.. n its happening :)

You said it all. Started to watch RR without any expectations so got back more that what was expected.

My expectation was more about Sanaya and her character than about the show itself - which I am sorry to say is dissapointing. I wanted her to shed the benevolent girl look and do something bolder. I would have appreciated her more if she had chosen to do a character like laila as that would have been a real challenge. Her current role is similar to the ones she has been doing from her very first show with lil variation in the surrroundings. Its getting pretty monotonous for me..
Although I do like the co actors and thoroughly enjoy the chemistry between Rudra and his kaaki -as both come across as excellent actors.

I tried to keep my expectations down, but they went sky high after the promos, esp the one that was like a theatrical trailer for a movie. For now, I have no issues with the show. I just hope it never disappoints, that they deliver their promise of presenting something new for Indian telly. And that they dont make too many concessions for TRPs. Sometimes it's important to tell a good story and not look at the numbers.
