Did we expect too much?

When we decide to watch a new show, we will be having some expectation . .In Indian channels, there is a limit in the concept which can be used for serials or the makers are not dared to deal with an entirely different concept. Sometimes, main concept initially seems to unique .They may claim that the serial is about a girl's dream to be a collector, or it is about the story of a housemaid who becomes a bahu of a rich family, or it is about the love-hate story of two different personalities. But basically most of the Indian serial use three concepts 1. Saas Bahu Drama 2. Love hate story 3. Love story. If it is Love -hate story or pure love story, they may keep on change the cultural background of the story. The difference will be in the community they belong or the state they belong.
What I expected ?
Before RR started we have a lot of articles about its concept. We knew that it is Love hate story. When I first heard the news, I was like why did Sanaya choose a love-hate story again , then I realize that the actors have limited options in Indian channels to choose. So I knew that Okay RR is a love-hate story which may narrate in Rajasthan culture and when the first promo released I got a better idea regarding the serial. I have also heard that the male lead's character is inspired by Othello. So I expected a timid , shy village girl as main heroine and a rude , courageous hero ,which happened as per expectation. I expected a much stricter interrogation, but I think they changed the track due to the TRP. I confess that even if I had a realistic expectation, in between Paro's character disappointed me, but I like her character now. However, according to me, the whole concept and the daily episodes are interesting .

What was your expectation regarding Rang Rasiya ?

* I have seen few comments of the members stating that RR was not up to their expectation , so I am just curious to know what went wrong ?

Honestly speaking, I had sky high expectations when the show started..I dunno if it has to do something with the way the show was promoted, watever. So it disappointed me initially but I came back to reality soon n settled for whatever I was getting 😆
For now the only thing that bugs me is the slow pace of the show. Its entirely my opinion but I would really like the story to revv up a lil, and also be a lil (just a lil more) realistic.
About the actors well Sanaya is the one for whom I started watching this show in the first place and so far I have been really happy with the way her character has developed. Her acting skills have been put to gud use and I love watching Paro! The other actors too have been great in their respective roles.
All in all the show has been a mixed bag for me, some episodes make me clap in glee while some don't stand up to my expectations. Anyway, it's still better than a lot of other shows and so far worth my time.

To be honest by the time CC ended all i prayed to gods was for another love-hate story with Sanaya in it cz that seemed to be the only genre i was willing to digest. I didn't care if it was the old wine in a new bottle or new wine in an old bottle! I just wanted to watch a love-hate story with a good actor opposite her! BAS! I didn't have a single other expectation of this show. I was willing to take anything provided the above things were in it! I just wanted a show I would want to watch for the show too and not just tolerate cz she was in it.

And yet I was pleasantly surprised by RR, the feel was great the concept and treatment was good. But well actually what had me delighted was that Paro was NOTHING like Khushi! I have been honest that this show equals Sanaya for me and everything else I got was bonuses.
So to see her taking up this completely different role and seeing her acting put to test and stretched to extreme and seeing her getting in to the character was my own treat. And I cannot say I have been disappointed even once with Paro's character sketch. I love Paro!

And then Ashish happened and i loved their jodi and he is a fab actor and is matching her well. So another box checked.

Now came the supporting cast and the treatment. Honestly after coming from a show which was a shoddy product put together in a rush to say the least, the production values of this show being good took a different level altogether.
And I love the whole ambiance to the soul stirring sound tracks designed for the show. So another check box ticked.

So then came the TRPs and the necessity of a family. They need a side-saas bahu track, which forgive me for comparing it with Sanaya's other love-hate story.. just like there they kept the main leads out of the direct path by not having a MIL for the female lead. There is always a limit to the influence an elder female saas can have if she is not the ML's mother. And thank god it was maintained here!
And better yet they got it a step ahead by not putting a ML who respected that woman an iota! So Paro having no choice but to listen to the saas or bowing to that other woman doesn't arise.. So on the side the saas has her own bahu.. now that is good too! Let it be there for the TRP aunties who like those.
Plus a special mention about the creatives for writing Masala chachi in a way that I who detest such characters actually am enjoying her scenes despite wanting to go in and give her a slap! I thankfully don't feel like fast forwarding her parts which would have happened if they wrote another Kokila ben or Bhabo!
So another plus for me.

Then comes the whole different angle that has not been explored yet. BSD-Thakur-Thakurainsa.
This has been put on pause as Tarun Khanna who essays Thakur is on paternity leave. So I think he is back and they can move this story forward now on that side too, which adds the unique flavor to this show.

And thank god they r suspending Rudra from BSD! I was wondering why no action was taken as its only realistic to expect him to have to face the consequences for his actions!
cz we know and Rudra knows that he was correct, BUT the crux of the situation is that he doesn't have a single proof. So i expected him to be punished. And its happening. This being late is i can assume is due to Tharun being out as the whole set of them r needed to move this plot forward.

Also it has been 7 days in the time of the story from the moment the border fight happened despite it been so long for us. So its actually realistic time for that part to happen..

So overall, I am not saying its a perfect show. It can speed up at some points as far as screenplay is concerned. But the thing is what they show makes me enjoy the show. I like it. Even if they don't change even a bit of it, i would still like it more than any other show on air right now.

Anyway once again telling, I am relieved I can love Sanaya's new show for the show itself and not only cz she is in it.. And that was my last wish too coming true.

So well this is in NO WAY an unbiased POV.😆
But then u asked about our own expectations and these were mine and as they have been fulfilled completely i am one happy viewer! Cz as u can see i didn't want the sun and the moon from this show, i had some very simple expectations and they have been fulfilled by the makers..

I just wanted to love another show by Sanaya again.. n its happening :)

I didn't expect the action to move into the house, or this slowly. I would have liked a little more authenticity. Greater focus on character development. The romance just dropped out of sky. The progression isn't very believable. But again, what I got is exactly what the daily soap world delivers. So right now I'm asking the same question- what else did I expect? This was bound to happen.
Having said that, I'm open to confer the benefit of doubt. The show isn't yet completely predictable, which I like. That it might turn cliched (or already has?) is another matter altogether. I still think I need time before I judge. It hasn't completely dashed my hopes yet. It is a pretty decent show.

well..it did went as expected..even though i didn't know what i expect from it..if that makes sense..😉 i loved the whole BSD things and how sanaya and ashish potray their characters.. Paro may be shy and timid but she has strong EQ while Rudra may be ruthless but he actually is low in the EQ department... i think it shows that guys and girl shouldn't be stereotyped into guys don't have emotions and girls do.. As to the plot.. i think it's fun especially watching the Kakisa taunts..she is unbelievable and such sarcasm..just wow.. 👏 i just wish it goes a tad bit faster but hey! they do know how to leave us fans eagerly (maybe pervertedly?😉) for this weeks' episode..hehe

I just like to watch the show to enjoy it so no my expectation wasn't high at all regarding the show because I was looking for nothing perfect but just for something to love again.

I personally liked Paro character the way it was there was nothing OTT abot her character it was realistic & I connected to it. And I didn't liked Friday episode it was too OTT for my taste with Mausam aunty drama TRP aunties might have there reason of enjoying a show but I have mine.

Let me reverse this question and I promise to answer it in my post tonight.

"Did the makers expect too much out of the TRP audience?"

THINK.

IT.

OVER.
