Chapter 2
The night seemed very short as both woke up realizing to be in each other's arms. Each wanted to be there in that position for eternity but knew that it was not possible. She knew it was hard to earn his affection and that his hug last night might have been a result of those incidents that had happened to her. She still inclined to keep her eyes closed, to be in his embrace for a longer time, until he woke up and distanced her deliberately. Till then it was her safe heaven.Rudra woke up and realized the position. His heart was having a hard time to battle with his mind, owing to the fact that Paro lay just a gap away from him, in his arms.
"What the F***! Am I hallucinating? This alcohol is seriously getting over me these days!..Now it has almost brought her in my arms. But thanks to it, this looks so beautiful although being fake. Atleast I can have her in my arms in my dreams. "
Rudra had forgotten to smile ages ago, way back in his childhood when his mother had left him, but today after a decade his lips slightly but surely broadened at the thought which seemed to him like a dream.
"Stop smiling like a Fool Major Rudra Pratap Ranawat! You are not dreaming and she is truly in your arms. Last night your heart won over your mind and you hugged her and both ended sleeping in each other's embrace. Have you forgotten everything? Now don't let yourself ruin more because of her."
His mind seemed to be too stubborn to give to his heart and he pushed her backwards and stood up abruptly as if waking up from a bad dream.
Paro knew that this was coming her way along with all his scorns and abuses.
"Why have you come here? What do you want from me?" his voice was cold and firm.
She knew it was time to confront him and for that firmness in her part had to be her essence.
"The Thakur has destroyed my life. He has finished everyone who was a part of my life. I have nowhere to go.The only place I know now is this, your quarter." saying this she lowered her eyes expecting another harsh answer.
"Can't you see she is in pain. Her face is completely wet with tears and instead of consoling her you are tormenting her with your questions. Just hold her again and tell her that she can stay here as long as she wants. Its her home.."
"This isn't your home and I don't entertain idiotic females like you. If you would have obeyed me and given your verdict against that Thakur on time, may be your kaki would have been alive today. But No, how could you listen to a BSD officer?.." His voice roared and he shook her with full force not to make a difference to her but actually to his own heart so as to stop giving him its lovey-dovey weak advises.
"Now leave from here. M getting late for my office."
He says this and leaves to take a bath. Paro was deserted and disheartened. She knew it won't be easy but how would she make a stone melt. He was right when he once told her in a fit of anger that a beautiful woman like her could not melt this stone man no matter what she did.
But here we were speaking of Parvati, the lady who had brought the crime of Raja Thakur to light. The lady who had justified herself and stood strong, even after the trauma of being declared a criminal by her nation. She would not give up so easily.
She sat on the floor near the bed and waited for him to show up. Rudra was surprised at her still sitting in his room and twisted his lips in annoyance.
"Don't you understand simple and plain language? I had told you earlier to leave." He opened the door roughly and indicated her to leave
"I won't go..." She spoke with a hesitant soft voice but clear enough to be heard by him. The words brought a shock to him and to clarify if he had heard right he turned towards her and held her mouth tightly with his fingers.
"What did you say? Speak again? " he commanded with fiery eyes. Her mouth completely under his control yet words flowed on her wish a bit shakily.
"I wwwon't goo." He was shocked and anger was hovering around this tall figure. He could not believe that a calm sheep like voice was raising her voice and opinion in front of him
"So you won't go. May I have the permission to know that why only this place is your only choice for home. The home of the JALLAD"
He turned his head away from her, hate and anger evident in his voice. it was not easy for him to forget whatever she had said in the past for him.
"Because you are the reason of my destruction. Its because of you and your BSD that Thakur killed my Maami sa. If I would have not answered against him then may be my Maami sa would have been alive today. Your BSD had promised to give protection to me and my Maami sa during the time of that case. But as soon as it got over, you forgot your promises since your work was done. BSD forgot about us and the dangers that we had to face all because of you. " She spitted out every form of anger she had. She knew somehow BSD might not have been to be blamed totally for her loss, but then if taken necessary precautions, everything could have been under control.
"Now its the responsibility of the BSD to give a future to me, to plan for my shelter and everything. Since you are a major I can only come to you for help. I don't know the others of your team. If you don't let me stay here, I will raise my voice against the injustice that you have done against me"
saying this she again went back to sit on the floor. Dilsher had just arrived from the ,market with Danveer's support and the much controlled smirk came back seeing a shocked Rudra in front of him.
"Rudra saw Dilsher and regained his composure but everything was already enjoyed with the good news that came along; His favourite "Round Rotis" and "Aloo ki sabzi" was on the way for his delight.
"This girl always amuses me! Another chance to make her my Bahu. This time I won't lose to Rudra Dev" the thought itself was enough to bring a smile to his lips.
