Today I got my wish to see PaRud riding a bike together, her hands on him. The CVs seem to have flung in lots of bike-riding lessons for all the actors in today's episode. Here are the ones I caught:
Lesson #1 for Dilsher: Just because Mohini is down, doesn't mean she's out. That biker babe is going to open up the throttle and leave tracks all over their backs! Not only does Kakasa know his nephew better than he knows himself, he knows his wife too, through and through, and can predict that she won't stop until she's got to the bottom of the problem.
Lesson #2 for Danveer: "You don't have to listen to your elder brother all the time." Sometimes it's okay to say No!! Like when confronted with a leather, feathers and chains riding partner. That one-time refusal can prevent a lifetime of painful...smiles.
Lesson #3 for Samrat-Mythili: Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel. And absolutely no coochie-cooing, especially, when the cops are watching.
Lesson #4 for Sumer: Let the larger vehicles run interference for you, that way you get an easy ride to your destination. In this case, get your mother to get you back your room from the encroachers. Maximum gain with minimum exertion.
Lesson #5 for Kaakisa: Be ready with the power, that is start in a lower gear and when the opportunity presents rev up, change gears, and race past! You may begin by cracking your knuckles, brushing aside minor obstacles like ropes, and throwing open any doors closed to you.
Lesson #6 for Paro: When being towed by a truck for illegal parking, there's no point jibbing at the manner of towing. A bent pedal is par for the course. Also no point asking the destination, you'll get there when you get there.
Lesson #7 for Rudra: If you can't read the surface, then you're going to hit it...hard. So if your aunt is oozing oil and you slam on the brakes with: "Neither son nor relative...This rope wasn't just to keep you out, but to nullify all relationships," then you are bound to skid. Sure enough, Rudra came a cropper with a thud!
Lesson #8 for Dilsher: There can't be one rule for a Harley and another for a Yamaha, even if the Yamaha in question is a louder-than-loud eyesore.
Lesson #9 for Paro: See lesson #6
Lesson #10 for PaRud: Get the risk level down before you start the ride. If that means you have to gnash your teeth, fume, and vent, then do it. Find out who started the rumour. If it was a way to pay you back for all your sins. Deconstruct the reason for your road rage - was it because things didn't go according to your plans or because they rode roughshod over you? Imagine shooting them with your pistol or blowing your top off at the one who suggested it in the first place.
Definitely get the safety gear on. Start with the helmet. Progress to the strap. Use assistance with the buckle...try again...and again...and again like Robert Bruce and the spider until the buckle clicks.
Train up your passenger on the best bike-riding techniques for beginners: tell her how to straddle the bike. If at first she fails, try a pep-talk about getting on bikes being easier than climbing atop camel-high cupboards. If that doesn't work try stern adjurations about not being coy. Stress the importance of holding on - metaphors with splattered tomatoes are usually effective. If that doesn't work, make the bike buck - hands should fall into place.
And finally, check your mirror frequently. That way you won't miss anything important.
Today we felt the aftershocks of earthquake Paro. Kaakisa may have lost the first round to Dilsher, but today she struck back and comprehensively routed Rudra, and evicted him and Paro from the house. Rudra may have fallen off his saddle, but he soon got back on his bike with Paro and was roaring off into the sunset when last we left them.
There were some heart-warming moments in today's episode. Dilsher chiding Danveer for marrying Mohini being one. The moment when Dilsher reassuringly pats Paro on the shoulder and faces off against Kakisa being another.
Then there were the PaRud moments: Rudra starting a slow burn, arm around Paro's waist, pulling Paro in snug to him, as he led her out of the haveli. Interesting that Rudra carried Paro in over the threshold, and he still half-carried her out.
Another sweet moment was when Paro cools Rudra's seething fury with her calm "why are you angry now?" A pointer to the way forward in their relationship, as Paro's cool rain will douse his hot temper. It was touching to see Rudra care enough for Paro, inspite of his anger, to ensure that she wears a helmet and rides safely. The bike mounting lesson...umm...definitely caught my eye, much as it glued Rudra's gaze to the mirror.😆 And ensuring she held on to him, just confirmed my feeling that he really doesn't mind her hands on him.
Can't help but wonder if Paro's in for a wild ride to the HQ 😉😃
