Thats the whole point! She is a good dancer so she danced well. But she forgot to act her character. She danced like a classical dancer, not like a 'dancer' or 'nautch girl'. or even a desi village entertainer. lets face it here. in rajasthan , if you are dancing in a vilage event or such, and also sleeping around, then you are not a person of good repute. such women in the small towns and villages (and this is a very remote vilage) behave in a certain way and definitely dance in a certain way. pls go and check out the original song in the movie. ankita has executed the dance very well as ankita the classical dancer but not as laila the village dancer. also i felt this is a very energetic song, the dance wasnt so energetic. that could very well be the choroeographer's fault too.
