Awesome post. I for one am all for violence. The scenes where he dealt with 5 terrorists single handed in that Dabang-meets-Rajni manner reeked of a desi take on Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds. No where near the original, but that was the first thing that came to mind when Major saahab backed the jeep on to the man. In the real world , Jambasa, he would probably be given a slap on the wrist and nothing more. This is war. No one cares about human rights, sad as that may be, it's the reality of army life. The reprimand would be about by-passing authority. Not about the body count. About the earring- he is Rudra Pratap Ranawat, a Rajput from the sound of his name. Rajput warriors traditionally used to pierce one ear.

At the risk of sounding repetitous, Happy New Year J sa 🤗
And thank you for providing some comic relief to an otherwise work-laden new year day...won't get to watch the epi until much later...
Do I sense much stronger misgivings in today's Take 5 than days past? That bad, huh?

You know - I think I just might be the shrinking violet in this case. Never been able to handle the sight of raqth.

Though I disagree about the slap on the wrist for bitwa - somewhat. Excesses happen, and sometimes they get brushed under the carpet - but the level of accountability is far higher today than it was, say - a couple decades ago.

Love your posts.🤣

All the Indian soaps share the same 'Prop and Wardrobe Company".
TV characters who are single wear wedding bands, other symbolic rings, non-believers wear the blessed "threads" on their wrists so what's an earring in the military. 😆

Jodha Ve - au contraire.

This PH has done good with casting - each and every actor fits their role, and there's zero hamming so far. The locale shoots are absolutely gorgeous and beautifully done - I'm enjoying this glimpse of Saat samundar Paar des.

However, I had serious misgivings about this show when someone said it was a remake of Othello, but am willing to watch - so long as they leave the violence to our imagination, and stay away from what Doc calls bruising wala pyaar.

Those two be deal breakers for me.

Exactly my sentiments...that is what I said yesterday...they have established the barbarism and ruthlessness of BSD/bitwa in the first epi itself...now, they can get the point across for future conflcts by lot of tell and little of show...a little goes a long way.
