Time flew by in a speed, Khanak & Shaan didn't even talked or met each other since Valentine's day. Only regrets, pain & deception remain in their hearts, it's not easy to forget about a dearest friend or even to forget the best & even the worst moments you had with them. Khanak was used to see her friends & family members who abandoned or betrayed her but for Shaan it was not the same case. There was a time where he had many friends but over the years he was choosy about whom to trust & with whom to hang out, he only kept in touch with Natasha & Amit, his closed friends since his teenage days. Amit went abroad & now Shaan is only in touch with Natasha, at work & home he's closed to his brother-in-law who's like a friend to him. And then he met Khanak to whom he got attached to in a short time, it was hard to avoid her as he cares about her a lot. But maybe it was better to let her go even if he had to hurt her cause if not so he would keep feeling guilty about that terrible accident. He didn't wanted anymore to face with things related to that accident that too cause this truth will deeply affect Khanak having a huge impact on their newly found friendship.
Both of them were moving on with their own busy lives & family. Khanak's father was slowly recovering from his health issues & she often went to visit him at home things didn't really changed between them but at least her father respects her choices & she didn't dared to oppose if he said anything which upsets her as she didn't wanted to avoid arguing with him. At least he wasn't mentioning her about marriage but yes he really insists about her come back at home. For the first time he was worried about how she handles things herself, he was actually worried for her which made Khanak smile, she felt really good about this. She was ready to make efforts with her dad to rebuilt their father-daughter relationship as promised to her dearest mother.
One day Khanak got a meeting at her new client's house, it was Natasha's place & Khanak knows her by her face as she is a friend of Shaan but never got the occasion to talk to her as she was busy with her concerts. After chatting with each other Khanak showed her via the presentation she did for the interior design of her client's new house. She suggested to create concept of a chic yet romantic Italian atmosphere mixed with Indian items in the living room & the bedroom. Natasha was really impressed by her work & she agreed for her ideas as she exactly showed her what she wanted to have. Natasha was reluctant to ask her anything about her & Shaan as she aware of what happened between them & the truth that Khanak ignores about Shaan's involvement in her accident 8 years ago. But while praising Khanak's work she indirectly mentioned Shaan's name as he was the 1st person to suggest Khanak for the interior design of her new house. Natasha then apologized of mentioning him.
Khanak: - It's ok.
Natasha: - He used to talk about you a lot, praising your work & your unique personality.
Khanak: - As you already know we are not in touch anymore.
Natasha: - Haan.
Khanak: - By the way...How he's doing?
Natasha: - Both family business & music program are going well.
Khanak: - Good. Ok, then I'll contact you to talk about the start of the project, I'll leave now.
Natasha: - I'm looking forward, thank you so much Khanak. You came with a car or,
Khanak: - Yes there's a car for our agency, the driver & one of my colleague are waiting outside.
Khanak was about to leave but her attention was on the song that Natacha was humming, she remember that she once heard it before with Shaan.
Khanak:- This song...what's the name of that song?
Natacha: - Oh...it's Tu...Tu something, sorry it's an old song.
Natacha thought that she better not know about it, even though her stage name back then was not her real name she didn't wanted Khanak to know about the past of her music group with Shaan, Amit & Sam, she was afraid of the consequences for Shaan's sake. Khanak then leaved the place, she was thinking about that song, it came up on her mind that she heard it before when Shaan was driving one of the family car. She liked the melody & the lyrics of the song, there was something special in that song for her.
For Khanak's father's birthday, their family gathered together for a special Italian lunch, both sisters, Khanak & Ananya prepared it. After a long time there were having a good time together without arguing, discussing about work or their personal problems even Mrs. Mehra for the sake of his husband's birthday & health was behaving different than the usual days which was pretty surprising for Khanak. They started laughing recalling the childhood days of Khanak & Ananya, then the topic changed into Ananya's shaadi, the fun they had together. While talking about marriage Khanak faced another surprising fact, her father was actually asking her if there is someone she likes or even dating.
Mr.Mehra: - Toh batao Khanak.
Ananya: - Papa I'm telling you recently she's so into a guy.
Mr.Mehra: - If he's from a good family & doing a good job then we can take it further talking about the rishta...
Khanak: - Dad please, there's no one like that.
Mrs.Mehra: - Who knows if she's dating secretly, even so if it's serious you better introduce him to us before people start gossiping here & there!
Mr.Mehra: - If there's someone you like don't hesitate to introduce him to us, what matters the most is your liking but yes the family background, education & job matter also.
Mrs.Mehra: - All of her friends are getting married but she's only focus on her career, Khanak you must be aware that finding good rishtas for you is a task!
The atmosphere suddenly became gloomy as usual thanks to Mrs.Mehra, Khanak stopped eating, she was about to leave the dining table but Ananya stopped her grabbing her hand & telling her to take it easy. Their father was unpleasant with her wife's comment, he immediately asked her to stop talking like that, like they used to pressurise her before.
Mr.Mehra: - I don't want things to get complicated again between my daughter & I. Moreover want her to be happy. I'm getting weaker day by day, before I leave this world I want to build a good relationship with both of my daughters, I want to be a good, caring father enough of chasing after money & reputation.
Mrs.Mehra: - App kamal ki baap ho! You said yourself that your getting weak day by day that's why we should better marry her off before we leave them na!
Ananya: - Mom please, enough of the same topic. Let's just not talk about shaadi & weird stuff. Papa after lunch we are playing carom ok?
Mr.Mehra: - Tik hai, by the way thanks for the lunch, it's even more delicious when it's made by my lovely daughters.
While they were playing carom, Shaan's father came to wish his boss & he also had some home made sweets by his daughter for the Mehra family. Mr.Mehra teased him asking where is his gift. Right then Shaan entered into the garden & reached towards them telling he has his gift. Khanak was stunned to see him, she then looked away with an angry face, Shaan noticed her but he made up his mind that he won't pay attention at her. Mr.Mehra thanked them for the gift & said how pleased he his to see both father & son. He asked them have to some tea before leaving.
Shaan & his father entered into the house but Mr.Mehra asked Shaan to join them for a carom match after having tea & some snacks. Khanak didn't even wanted to sit there with him that too playing carom, she then leaved the garden saying that she's tired.
A few minutes later, Khanak was serving herself a glass of water in her room but she was lost in her deep thoughts about the memories she had with her mother, about the things she said to her about the father that she never got to meet during her childhood days. Her mother never mentioned a bad word about her father but she always used to say that he'll never belongs to her mother, they can live together like a happy family. Her last wish was that Khanak respect & love with her father's family. Someone knocked on the door, Khanak came back to her senses while dropping the glass, Shaan was at the door.
Khanak: - Tum? What are you doing in my room?
Shaan: - Sorry...Sorry I was searching for the washroom.
Khanak: This is not a washroom.
Shaan: - Sorry, you...you carry on.
Khanak was trying to reach the pieces of the glass, she then hurt two of her right hand's fingers while touching a piece of glass.
Khanak: - Ouch!
Shaan: - Tum tik ho?
Khanak: - Just leave, I can manage myself!
Shaan: - Haan haan, who toh mujhe pata hai.
Shaan was about to leave but he turned back to her, he noticed her hand & went to help her. He immediately took her soft hand, he asked where is the first aid box to which Khanak didn't replied. Shaan then looked into her eyes & asked her to reply her as she's hurt. Khanak showed where was it with a movement of her eyes. Shaan started to put some ointment into her wounds. She thanked him, he then took two steps forward to get out of there but he stepped on something, he looked on the floor, there was an ankle under his sandals. He took of his foot & took the ankle while looking at it delicately, Khanak said that it belongs to her. Shaan actually was about to put it around her foot but Khanak stopped him putting away his hand from her. After a long time Khanak looked closely into his eyes, they were full of concern towards her but this time seeing him like that made her just feel bad & angry at the same time.
Khanak: - What else are you gonna do haan? Leave it here & tum jao please!
Shaan saw her nude, swelled feet while putting her ankle on her bed next to her, Khanak was embarrassed & ended up putting the blanket to cover them. Shaan seemed worried about her, he wanted to ask her if she's fine but what to do the situation was such that he just have to leave the room or else Khanak will create a scene. He told her to take care of herself before leaving to which she firmly responded to not brother about her & to shut the door while leaving as she doesn't want anymore strangers to disturb her.
He then went passing by a long corridor to go to the garden & he bumped into Ananya, she asked him about his whereabouts & if he had any fights with Khanak as she doesn't talk about him anymore with her & seemed less lively than she before. He said to her that they had a small rift, Ananya asked him to pacify with each other as good friends always need to communicate to sort things between them. Shaan smiled & before she leaves, he asked her how Khanak was doing to which she answered that Khanak must answer to it.
After spending some time at Mehra's house, Shaan was finally back to work on the radio. Before going on air he thought about Khanak, even if he doesn't want to think about her, he keeps worrying & caring about her. Was she doing fine, how about her foot, the word "stranger" made a strong impact on him, after all he realized how much he missed her seeing her after a long time. Coincidentally today's program was dedicated to the best ever-green friendship songs, a fan called him asking for a song which could help her to pacify with her friend & asked Shaan for some advices.
On the other hand Khanak was lying on her bad & also listening to the radio, she was tuning it & came to Shaan's musical programme she wanted to change the channel but today she wanted to hear it. Shaan answered his fan. Somehow this question reminded him of what Khanak's sister Ananya told him when he asked if her sister was doing fine, he felt as is she was aware of their rift.
Shaan: - Well things won't sort out between friends if there's no communication, if one doesn't go towards the other & giving another chance to their friendship things might turn difficult. So you should take a step forward towards your friend
Khanak was deeply thinking about his answer, then she sighed & was about to turn off the radio but the song played by Shaan captured her attention. That song one of her favorite song ever, it is called Yaaron Dosti sung by K.K. Well it was not an old classical hindi song but Shaan played it at the special occasion. While enjoying the song Khanak recalled her high-school days, her friendship with her childhood friends Karan & Deepti, then she thought about Soni & Shaan. Somehow she missed him, even though she was so hurt & mad at him there are such moments where she can't rethinking about the moments they had together.
