Part 8

Shaan is wearing his vest and a track pant, towel around his neck, drying his hair from one hand. He can hear a girl's sweet voice, he raises his head to see, and he sees the back of a girl, whose long hair is teasing back of her kurta. He is shocked to see her in his room but at the same time happy, that she wouldn't be able to avoid him now…

He just leans on the wall beside the door, arms folded across his chest, he's smiling. She's still on the phone; she ends the conversation and cuts the call.

Khanak: Aayush (turns around) She is shocked to see him there, her eyes wideopened.

Shaan: Hello Khanak (with a mischievous look)

Khanak: aap?? Aayush kaha hai??

Now she looks at the room, she takes in the huge bed, comfortable couch, the glass table everything, including Shaan's photo on the bedside table. The room is elegant and beautiful, she shakes her head as the realization hits her. She realizes that its his room, as the photo and the things thrown around tells her that it's a man's room…

Khanak: im so sorry, I tkink I entered into a wrong room (looking downwards)

Shaan: I don't think so Khanak (he's smiling)

Khanak's eye flee towards him in shock. She starts pulling the edge of kurta and crushes it. Shaan sees her nervousness, he's enjoying it, he slowly puts his hands in his pockets and starts moving towards her.

Khanak: I think I should leave now (she starts moving towards the door, but shaan comes in front of her, she stops in her track, both of them are about 3 feet away)

Shaan: Khanak!! (bending down, as she is looking downwards)

Shaan: Khanak what's the problem??? Why are you avoiding me?? (worried but softly)

Khanak (takes a long breath) : nahi, aisa kuch nahi hai, shaayad aapko galatfami hogayi hai (looking towards the door, which is open)

Shaan: agar aisa hai, toh why are you not looking at me and why are you not talking to me??

Khanak (she can hear his voice, which sounded like he was worried) : I should leave now (tries to pass beside him)

But once again she's stopped by Shaan, but this time he holds her hand as she passes beside him. He's facing inside of the room and she outside…

She wasn't expecting this, her heart is beating as fast as it can, time is like as though its stopped. She closes her eyes. His hold is tight and firm, her hand is soft and cool, but no time to appreciate it…She turns around and looks at his hand holding her hand. Shaan looks at her aand sees the hand and releases her hand from his tight grip.

Shaan: im sorry Khanak, please talk to me!

Khanak: its ok (holds her hand, she looks at him finally, Shaan is relieved that atleast she looked at him)

Khanak: shaan I think I need some time…

Shaan is confused, he's about to ask WHAT??? But Aayush comes in, he's in the towel

Aayush: Mom, aap yahan ho, where's my clothes???

She hands him his clothes which she had kept it on the bed.Aayush takes it from her and leaves from there. Khanak's back is at him

Khanak: im sorry Shaan if I've hurted you (concerned) She doesn't wait for him to respond, she had walked out. Shaan is extremely confused and upset…

Khanak is in the living hall with his parents. Sunil had returned from work. She had composed herself after those words with Shaan, she didn't wanted to do that, but Shaan had left no choice for her. If he had given her some time, may be she would have behaved normal. She had seen his eyes sparkle when he had seen her, she didn't wanted to take it further.

She's talking normally with Sunil and Madhvi. Sunil is talking to Aayush, who is sitting between Sunil and Madhvi. They are having their coffee or tea and Aayush is having his milk. Shaan comes out of the room wearing T-shirt and sits opposite to Khanak. He can see her, he tries to read her face, he was confused what she had told, but with her intentions it was clear that she's avoiding him, and he had felt her body tremble when he had held his hand. Her hand was small and soft like a butter. He looked at his hand, which had held it, he had enjoyed the touch, but Khanak was moving far from him, why she was doing that?? He had no idea. Yesterday when he had met her, she was normal and also she had shown signs but what had happen in a single night…

He was disturbed when he heard that they were leaving. They both had bid bye to his parents, Aayush had said bye to him ,Khanak did not…

Shaan in his room, he's thinking, he had never felt like this for a girl, but he wanted to know her from in and out, what she would do in her free time, everything about her, her likes dislikes everything, but she's running away. He thinks for a moment, something flashes him, he suddenly smiles and rubs his hands..

Shaan (to himself) : ab dekthe hai Dr. Khanak Mishra, how will you avoid me (his tongue pressing against cheek)

He takes his phone and calls….
