Earlier in the Day- 9:30 am.

"Aao Khanak, dekho hum kahaan aaye hain" Shaan said taking Khanak into which was previously known as Gangubai's house, now owned by Adi and Simran.

Khanak walked hesitantly into the house, clutching Shaan's hand fearfully. Why had he brought her here, she thought.

"Hi Khanak, kaise ho tum" Adi smiled walking near her next to Simran.

"Yeh log... kaun hai?" Khanak asked Shaan.

"Khanak yeh... Adi aur yeh Simran. Humari dost, bahut acche dost. Jab hum Mumbai mein akele rehne waale thay, in dono ke saath is ghar mein rehte thay." Shaan said.

"Haan Khanak, hum dono ek saath ek room, mein rehte thay, aur humari saath ek aur ladki bhi rehti thi, uska naam Khushi hai, aur bhi tumhari dost hain," Simran said looking into Khanak's confused eyes.

"Mujhe... kuch yaad nahi aa raha hai...", Khanak said as her lip quivered.

"Koshish karo Khanak, yeh jagah, yeh mauhaul isse tum jaanti ho. Tum yahaan rehti thi, meri saath, hum saabke saath, " Shaan said pressing her shoulders slightly.

For the past month, Shaan had taken Khanak everywhere of which she might remember something. They had been to Dhulwadi, by the mandir where their marriage had taken place. By the area, where Khanak danced in the rain along with him. They had visited Duck's caf, where she had spent countless amounts of time buying his favorite Black Forest Cake. He had requested Khushboo Bhabhi and Madhavi to send their hate towards her, so she could remember who she was. None of these things worked, and Shaan had brought Khanak here, maybe just maybe, she might remember he thought.

"Nahi..mujhe kuch yaad nahi aa raha hai, yeh dono kaun hai, main nahi janta hoon!" Khanak said as she sobbed slightly.

"Khanak roo mat, dekho itna bhi mushkil nahi hai, yaha dekho," Shaan said as he wiped away her tears and walked towards the direction where their rooms were adjacent to each other.

Khanak felt her head start to throb slightly, she felt helpless, and was very upset with herself.

Adi and Simran went to go get some of the things that might be useful to Khanak's remembrance, when Shaan's phone rang.

He picked it up, realizing it was Khanak's doctor, and turned around from Khanak, so she wouldn't have to hear their conversation.

Khanak tried hard to remember, she squeezed her eyes shut, forcing herself to at least remember something. If she had truly loved Shaantanu, then why doesn't she remember? She sees the pain in his eyes, and can't bear to look back at him. She felt dizzy, and needed fresh air, as she stepped outside. She felt the world around her spin, and she knew that she needed to be left alone, so she left.

Shaan turned around and saw that Khanak wasn't there.

"Khanak...KHANAK!" he called, stepping out to see if she was there.

Somewhere on Marine Drive 10:45 pm.

"Khanak...kaha ho tum? " Shaan wondered aloud running his hand through his hair. He sat on a nearby bench, and revisited his memories of the past 3 months.

It was a Monday morning and Khanak had stepped to visit Sam who had just returned from America. Dharam Bha was out sick, and there were no cars left to take. She walked out onto the streets hoping to catch a taxi, as she turned around to cross one, she was hit by a drunk driver, completely out of his senses. Khanak was hospitalized, for nearly 2 months. She wouldn't respond, and she wouldn't wake up, but her heart still beat, every day. Then one day, she finally responded, waking up. Because of her being unconscious for so long, she was in a partial coma, where if she hadn't responded for awhile longer, she would be in a coma. Khanak's left brain, had not received oxygen from when she was hit, and had somewhat shut down, as she was in the hospital. Because of this, she no longer remembered her love for Shaantanu. For her, he was the man who killed Suraj, and had married her so he wouldn't die. He was the one who yelled at her everyday, and who had spent his entire time with Natasha. This marriage didn't mean anything by law, and it didn't mean anything to her.

Shaan tried every single day, every moment of the hour, to try to regain her love for him. He hated seeing the fear and aloofness in her eyes every time they set upon him. He grew cold every time she called out to him, in a hard, dismissive voice. But he hid all these things, so she could see the warmth in his eyes, and the love in his tone. He tried everything he possibly could, but nothing would bring back his love.

Shaan's phone vibrated as he frantically picked up.

"Hello..?" he asked.

"Shaan, meri paas, who... Khanak mere paas hai" Rahul said.

Next to Khanak- 11:50 pm

Ab hai saamne
Ishe chhuu loon zara
Marr jaaun ya jee loon zaraaa

He didn't need her loving eyes or her playful tone. All he needed was her. However she was, she was his, and that's all that mattered to him. He wiped his tears, and laid down next to her, encircling her petite frame next to his.

Kuch aisi lagan iss lamhe mein hai
Ye lamha kahaan tha mera

Khanak moves slightly, opening her blood shot eyes to an unknown room, having Shaantanu sleep next to him. She jerked awake, moving herself away from him. Why had he done that? Where...where was she?

She realized she was standing in her own room, or the room that belonged to Shaantanu and her after their marriage. She looked back at Shaantanu's sleeping frame, and felt a pang of guilt hit her.

"Kyun... who kyun mujhe itna pyaar karta hai? Main use itna pyaar kyun nahi karti?" she wondered blinking back tears.

She realized that enough was enough, she couldn't hurt Shaantanu anymore. She had to leave, and leave this time, for good.

She ran towards the closet, where her belongings were, as she ruffled through the drawers, she found an old, frayed red odhani fall out.

It wasn't exactly an odhani but a ripped out part from a sari that was placed next it. She felt the sari, a heavy green and red one, embroidered with gold. Was this hers? It seemed like a bridal sari, had she worn it?

Shaan felt his eyes open, he looked around and saw Khanak walk out of the room, and into the main hall.

"Kha...Khanak?" he called out.

He raced down the stairs, grabbing her hand, pushing her back to him.

"Tum..yeh kya kar raha ho?" he asked.

"Please... mujhe chod dijiye... Main, main yaha nahi ra sakhtee hoon" Khanak whispered

"Lekin Khanak, yeh tumhara ghar hai, tum kaha jaana chatee ho? Mujhe batado, main tumhe waha le chalungi," he said.

Khanak shook her head.

"Nahi...main tumhari saath nahi jaa paaongi!" she said crying softly.

"Kyun...kyun nahi?" he whispered."

"Kyunki, tum jo chahti ho, who mein tumhe nahi de sakhtee! Tumhari aankhon mein jo hai, who mere aankhon mein nahi. Tum hamesha bolti ho, ke sab kuch theek hoga, lekin kuch theek nahi hota! Mujhe kuch yaad nahi aata hai!" Khanak exclaimed running down the stairs.

Shaan followed her

"Ruko Khanak, mere liye, please..." he said

"Mujhe maaf kardo... tum bahut acche ho.. tum kise aur se shaadi kar lo, main tumhare layaak nahi hoon. Mujhe tumhe dene koi pyaar nahin hai, I'm sorry..." she replied sobbing.

"Khanak, mujhe tumhare pyaar ki zaroorat nahin hai. Sirf tumahri zaroorat hai." He said facing into her tear struck face.

"Main tumhare liya kya hoon? Aggar main tumhare saath rehta hoon, toh humari kal kaise hogi?" she asked.

"Humara kal jesa bhi ho, hum mil kar usse khoobsurat banayenge. Par agar tum saath na rahi toh na mera aaj hai na ane wala kal." He said kneeling down towards her.

"Bolo Khanak, kya tum meri aane wala kal doogi? Kya tum hamesha mere saath raho gi?" He asked as he held out her hand towards her.

Khanak felt a rush of excitement flood through her. For the first time since she came with him, she felt something warm inside of her, as she looked into his pleading eyes.

Unknowingly she knelt next to him, and kissed one of his tears away. She felt his strong arms, engulf her, as she dug herself into him. Everything felt right. And for once, she knew she belonged here, in his arms.
