The Man of My Dreams
Prologue:Darjling... the most beautiful hillstation of India...made up of a mix of people from different backgrounds, culture and states of India and neighbouring Nepal and China too.
Then maybe I was biased as this is the place I grew up in, sigh...she breathed deeply and exhaled. The air was so clean and fresh and the hills and greeny was spread till ones eyes could see. It truly was a little peace of heaven on earth.
"God I am getting late", she muttered to herself. Beeni and Karan her two bestest friends in the world were definitely going to kill her for being late as usual. She laughed out loud on this thought as till now she was quiet alive and in good working conditions with all her body parts in working order...thus proving to all that she was not going to be killed at all.
Beeni older sister Veeni...ah Veena was getting married to Karan's older brother Armaan. Veena had a crush on Armaan since she saw him shirtless...in his tight fitting red with black bordered ghanji. Form them on it was love at first sight for her. After that she pursued Arfmaan with a vengence and as always she got her way, and they were going to get married after dating for 4 years. Armaan was doctor by profession and a good one at that, and his practicing clinic was always full of patients...especially the female ones...who were mostly there to oogle him, talk to him or flirt wiht him: but Armaan with his charmong ways managed it all with no sweat at all.
Now if things worked out according to her plan, Beeni may well end up marrying Karan ..if only Beeni could be as Teancious as her sister Veena a would listen to her and Karan would pay heed to her hints. Though it was hard saying what Karan felt as he flirted like hell, more then his brother and had double the charm to sweep any girl of her feet , which he did all the time to get his way.
When she reached Beeni's home both Karan and Beeni were pacing at the front entrance and arguing too about something. She walked up to them and on noticing her both started yelling at her togetehr " Where have you been?" "How can you always be late?" "Busy day dreaming or busy enjoying the sights thus forgetting where you were supposed to be?"
She put up her hands and covered their mouths simaltaneously.
"Okay , what seems to be the problem?" she asked them.
"Did Armaam bhai at last decided to runaway and get married?" , she asked laughing as she knew Armaan threatened to do that every time he was forced into helping out with wedding preparations or shopping. Veena would go in to one of her tantarums on this and DD aka Nikita Veena's best friend would join her in giving Armaan a piece of their mind about his senseless and idiotic thoughts.
"No" both said together again..."is not that this time at all" againsaid together...and noticing what they were doing we all laughed out loud.
"Okay Karan you tell Khanak, what the problem is" said Beeni.
"Khanak the problem is that the florist has run out of flowers and cant fullfill our order completely, he would b able to deliver those four huge arrangements we ordered for later on" said Karan.
"Why not?" she asked and continued "Did Dev uncle give a reason?"
"Yes he did, you know Sunil uncles youngest son is coming back tomorrow from the States and they had given him an order for flower bouquets and large arrangments for their party way before us but he forgot at that time as his assistant Anand forgot to inform him and now we are in a spot" Beeni informed.
"So how to solve this problem before Veena finds out is the maind problem. Armaan is like she wont notice but I doubt it." Beeni said making a face.
"Oh I had completely forgot about the Homecoming party for Shantanu Khandelwal , thats tomorrow" quiped Khanak.
"Hum...why don't we provide Dev uncle with flowers form our and our neighbour garden and tell him to do something with it" she said. "I think it will work! "
Karan and Beeni both pondered over it and seemed to love it.
"Yes lets do that" Lets go and gather all the flowers we can an deliver to Dev uncle before Veena or DD notice what we are doing." said Karan all excited.
And thus the whole afternoon they all got busy gather as many flowers they could from their won home gardens and their neighbours gardens and some Karan even coaxed the gardner of the public gardens to help them.
They delivered their collection to Dev uncle who was proud of their inguinity and promised them the flowers were more then enough for the arrangements they needed.
"Thank God that done with" Karan said wiping his head on his forehead. "Phew " and laughed out loud.
"So are we all going to Khandelwal's tomorow or not? " asked Beeni excitedly. "Are we? Are we?" she looked at us expectantly.
"Guys!!!!!" Are we?????!!!!!???"
Karan and I couldn't stop laughing at her childish excitement.
"Yes we are" both Karan and I said together.
"We will go togehter and no with our parents, what say?" asked Karan
"Yes that would be perfect. This way we wont have to get bored waiting for each other." said Beeni
"So ladies tomorrow at 8 pm. its a date" said Karan. "And Khanak 8 means 8 not 9 0r 10, okay!" he said pointing at me.
"Yes baba, I will be ready on time. I will be at Beeni's place so no worries she can make sure I am ready on time okay and thus you can pick us both up together saving you time to pick us up separately" I said.
Thus all the way to our repective homes we talked about the Shantanu Khadelwal, the elusive persone that we hardly remebered or ever met and was so talked about by Sunil uncle and Madhvi aunty, their youngest and seemed like dearest son and Dadis ladla.
