She was scared of height since she was a child. Shantanu brought her to this cliff and started to declare his love for her.

She clung to him in fear as she stammered," I am afraid of heights Shantanu!"

She turned for one moment and in that one moment her life changed yet again. He had stumbled over the edge.

"Shantanu!," she yelled.

She crept towards the bars to look to see if he had somehow not fallen too far. She prayed not be widowed again. She could barely see what was before her as her tears clouded her vision. Suddenly there was a ray of hope.

"Khanak!,"

She quickly wiped her tears with her dupatta and saw to her both relief and dismay Shantanu clinging to a ledge for dear life. Now she had to overcome her fears to save him.

" I am coming Shantanu," she called out to him.

Khanak prayed as she looked around for something to pull Shantanu up with. He outweighed her by at least 36 kilograms. She found some old rope nearby but it was a bit short. She took her dupatta and tied it to the end then threw it down so Shantanu could grab it.

After Shantanu was able to grip it, Khanak pulled with all her might. It was by God's grace Shantanu soon made it back up. The last tug caused them both to land on the ground together, with him on top.

Their eyes met and she caressed his cheek and then on his forehead where he had a small gash on it.

"Aap theek toh ho na?." she asked meekly.

Shantanu nodded and swallowed hard. They had been so close to being separated.

He got up and then reached out to help her get up.

As they returned to their cottage, it began to rain hard. They rushed inside. Khanak went to get the first aid kit to dress Shantanu's wounds.

He whined like a child. She simply shook her head and continued to patch him up. Once Shantanu had changed into fresh clothes she started to get him ready for bed.

"Khanak you always take such care of me. You sure you didn't get hurt anywhere?," he inquired.

She smiled slightly.

" Shantanu main theek hoon. Just please don't ever scare me like this again. I was so scared," she stammered.

He tried to hold her close to comfort her but then noticed she was wincing.

"Khanak kya hua?," he asked concerned.

He realized she must had hurt her back so helped her sit with her back facing him. He noticed a small spot of blood and moved aside part of her blouse to reveal some bruising.

"Khanak you are hurt too," he stammered.

"Nahin Shantanu aap ko zyaada lagi hai," she insisted.

She tried to wiggle away but he held her firmly.

"Who is being the child now? Let me take care of you now Khanak," he stated firmly.

He brought the first aid kit and a dry nightgown for her to change into.

Khanak decided to take a warm bath first.

"I might feel better after a warm bath. You can go to sleep Shantanu," she said.

"No we will sleep at the same time. I'll be here if you need me," he said.

She nodded as she went into bathroom.She went into the water and soon tried to relax.

A few minutes later she opened her eyes as she felt someone's warm breath behind her. She felt warm hands on her shoulders. She turned to see Shantanu there.

" Aap yahaan?," she exclaimed.

She tried to make sure the bubbles were covering her body.

She blushed.

" Shantanu wait for me outside please," she urged.

He smiled mischievously and kissed her cheek.

"I'll be waiting for you," he hissed.

She blushed again.

Khanak had forgotten her nightgown on the bed outside so had to cover herself with the towel. She was hoping Shantanu would be sleeping.

Instead he whistled at her suddenly as she was about to pick up her clothes. He stopped her from going back into the bathroom just for a minute so he could apply ointment and bandage to her wound.

She then hurried to put on her clothes and then returned to the bedroom. He was already laying down. She slipped in besides him and placed her head on his chest. He wrapped an arm around her waist.

They were both happy to still have each other.
