@TM: I like that you mentioned Gauri..I dislike her as well, but it is biased to say that just because one actor thinks that way, that all actors think that way. There are those who just do not want to watch television or soaps or whatever for that matter. I'm not saying KT is an exception or something..honestly, I could care less if he is. BUT one can't just assume that since he said he prefers to watch sitcoms and that he does not watch his own show..he falls into the category of the other actors and actresses that want to seem "sophisticated" or "cool" by making it seem like they don't watch indian tv. 😆 This falls for every actor and actress out there!

I personally feel each and every step of someone we know...celebrity or not and what we see in reality shows, news, buzz is completely staged, scripted and fake....it is very well planned and executed that it appears real......it's a business for making money darlings....a single wrong word can go wrong against them and stakes are very high.....so every step is taken after giving due thought....!!
I have a patient who was selected for one beauty pageant....she came back halfway when the show was still on air.....and was told to stay quiet till the show gets over.....she told me that in a beauty contest even the winners are predecided.....
so the so-called reality shows hardly have any reality in them....!!

Hey Guys, Just saw this 'Hot' topic and couldn't resist wanting to post and perhaps give my POV since I also live in the States.

You are right in a way but let me just play devils advocate here.😆.Firstly can you trust articles particularly Tellychakkar Articles where journalists basically copy qoutes from old interviwes?.😆

Indian shows are good but are they good enough as their American counterparts?.😕

Tv actors shoot round the clock particularly Indian tv actors so they would like to unwind by watching a good sitcom which unfortunately is non-exixtent on indian tv.I mean those SAB tv shows dont make the cut atleast for me .No offense meant.And you cant compare a Sarabhai vs Sarabhai to some classic likes Home Improvement or HIMYM or even Friends .Lets face it.

Getting into bollywood hmm,dont they all?TV is a platform for them to move up.I dont think KT has ever though that way and even if he did why not? .Others have done it before so why cant he?.Not that he wants to but still.Evryone wants to climb up the successes ladder.KT should not be an exception

But one thing i know about KT is that he loves his show.Let me bring out an old interview of his when he did LNMDJ and when the Q put to him was would you ever watch any show apart from your own he said No.So he loves his work. He loves what he does.He is passionate about it and that is evident from his acting.

And he does watch Indian Shows but look at the dramas that we have on TV nowadays??? Can you blame him?.I am sorry to say but Indian TV has to really make inprovement by leaps and boundas if they can even think of matching up to American Dramas..

And his favourite show used to be Astitva ..ek prem kahani which was actually a quality drama in its prime but which like all Indian quality dramas went off the band wagon.

I am not tryng to bring down Indian Shows.There are some that are actually quite good or else i would not be watching them.....RBO is good,i mean it really is ,but thats the thing.You can count the number of Indian shows that are good.And the ones that start off well always end up in the dump.

Not that American shows are great.I can name some really bad ones...Melrose Place 2.👎🏼,Nikita.....Desperate Housewives???.,Brothers and Sisters...They have their share of bad shows but if you take it as a whole they are miles ahead .Indian TV needs to do something drastic to catch up .That is if they want to emulate western dramas at all.

Am i defending KT?. You bet i am.😆..And not coz i love him or anything .I dont have a blind eye.But what i do know is that he is one of most upright actors i have seen .He doesn't get involved in any off-screen disputes.Have never seen or heard a single bad article on him.He remains clean on Facebook too when some of the TV stars nowadays...read Karan Kundra go on making nasty comments and dissing down other Indian dramas.I mean what can you say about that huh?.He doesn;t have flings offscreen LOL,when evryone is in the news nowadays for all the wrong reasons.I mean i am sure producers are lined up to take him in a number of movies but Karan is a smart guy.He has always chosen wisely.He knows what roles suit him the most and i am sure will think twice b4 taking the plunge.

Give us better shows ,we will watch.And i am sure KT will do to but i dont blame him for not watching.I wouldn't want to relax after a hard days work by watching some of the sensleess dramas we have on tv nowadays...especially Indian TV.

Long time back, I had read a TV celebrity interview where he said that he never watches TV at all...I found it actually funny --- not because it was employing him ( we cannot force a baker to have his own cake) but I laughed because if he doesn't watch TV...why does he expect others to do so??..why should someone listen to him when he is asking them to watch a show that he himself doesn't watch 😕....beyond comprehension for me.

Ifeel it is impossible not to watch TV at all.....so whoever says he doesn't watch TV....is simply trying to APPEAR COOL.......there is something for everyone at TV- news, talk shows, debates, cricket matches, reality TV, there are women in the house who watch soaps and other comedies.......so not watching TV is impossible......I have read how Gauri Khan spotted amrita rao in bru coffee commercial, K jo telling how his mom watches saas-bahu serials, actresses like renuka shahane , pallavi joshi, rupali ganguli saying they watch TV regularly.....i think even they appear cool and true....KT did not say he doesn't watch it at all........
Now , when I think about it....I think when they say they don't watch TV --- means they don't watch anything in particular or specific....they might be channel surfing if at all they switch it on....as that was what I used to do before RBO....!!....and the main issue is continuity....!!
Another very important point is --- we have every right to exercise a choice when it comes to entertainment......especially when we are busy and pressed for time, still want something to unwind, we have less time so less shows to experiment, we can watch only 1 or 2.....here we should not judge someone by his choice...............
My hubby is a very busy senior government engineer, he did his studies at IIT so his IQ is not questionable at all....still I can not understand that the only one show he watches is Big Boss.....for which I nag him every single day......lovingly of course....that how can he watch a show as silly and stupid as BBoss ( strictly my POV.....not to appear sophisticated, but I do find the show ridiculous) .......and he almost daily Tchs Tchs me for RBO........and both of us are like --- "still my show is better than yours....".
If we go on serial bashing....there is no end....If FRIENDS has flaws, Big Boss is insane .......even RBO has some flaws, we can't see due to our love but others can.........I have a close friend who is a cardiologist and she started watching PKYEK......and she is hooked to it just because she can watch it at 11.00 pm repeat and she loves a character Misha........and that is the only show she watches....told me to watch it too......................so let's not decide someone's intelligence by his choice of show because there could be many reasons making him watch the show and later it becomes a habit...........

It's a long post -- summary for those who don't want to read the above crap--- to say that we don't watch TV at all is considered cool but makes you appear a fool........KT did not say so....he just quoted his choices.....which we should respect.....each to his own !!!
