"Bhaiyya, there's a problem" Shaan said breathlessly as soon as he entered Akshay's room. Khushboo had gone to spend the weekend with her dad and Akshay was doing what he did best. Work.

"Okay Shoot!" Akshay responded, not taking his eyes off the file.

"I kissed her"

"WHAT?! Why would you do that?!!"

"Bhaiyya I just''.." Shaan hesitated "--- I".

"By the way-----who did you kiss?" Akshay asked casually.

"BHAIYYAA??! KHANAK!!"

"WHATTT?!! Why would you do that?!!"

"Bhaiyaa?" Shaan asked impatiently. "Are you even listening to me?"

"Ofcourse I am! You kissed Khanak. Did you like it?"

"Ofcourse I liked it!

"Did she like it?"

"Bhaiyyaaa!!"

"What? You can ask me if your bhabhi liked me kissing her too!" Akshay said with an innocent face

"Eww Bhaiyaa! Okay that's it I'm leaving!"

"What?? What's the 'Eww' about?! She's your bhabhi! Not your sister!" Akshay countered, paused, then said "Okay I heard that!" Shaan made a bhaiyaa-please-think-before-you-talk face.

"Errrrr-----so----yea where were we? YES'.did YOU like it?" Akshay recovered soon enough.

"God Bhaiyaa I LOVED it! Can we move on now?"

"Where the hell do you want me to move on to?! You liked it, she liked it, toh jaoo ja kar kiss her again and let me work! Sheesh!"

" That's the problem Bhaiyya!"

"You're only allowed to discuss one problem with me per day!"

" It's the beginning of the weekend " Shaan reminded him

"Okay fine then. TWO. What's the second problem?"

"I promised her I won't kiss her again!"

"WHATTTT!!? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!!

"Seriously Bhaiyya?!! Is that the only sentence you can use in dramatic situations?" Shaan asked annoyed, but got no reply as he quickly carried on.

"Because----because----Bhaiyya she seemed all uncomfortable!" whined Shaan, getting up and walking distractedly. "And don't tell me I'm a bad kisser because I know I'm not! It's just----maybe she's not ready to move on----I don't know bhaiyya----bhaiyaa?" Shaan's voice became soft "Bhaiyya, I----I think----no not think-----I KNOW----I know I've fallen in love with her bhaiyaa----I have!---but how do I tell her? Main ussay kaisay batao kay main uss say SACH main pyaar karta hoon! How do I convince her that I'm not messing with her like that guy in her class, what's his name? Rishi! I hate him!" Shaan made a fist.

"Shaan dude hang on? Is this because you're jealous of some random guy in her class because if it is then----- well----" Akshay said cautiously.

"No Bhaiyaa! It's not that and you know it!" Shaan said frustrated. " Bhaiyya jub Khanak meray saath hoti hain toh main----main dunya ka sub say khush inssaan hota hoon----jub wohh muskuraati hain toh aisa kugta hain kay meri SAARI problems door hogaee---- jub wohh baaarish main mairay ssatthh hoti hain toh mujhay 'baarish', BAARISH BHAIYAA baarishh Achi lugtiii hainn!!-----jub wohh udaas hoti hain toh mera munn bhareee hojataa haain----jub wohhh ----jub wohhhh meray saamnay nahi hoti, toh main ussay HAR jaga dhoondta hoon---aur bhaiyaaa jub wohhh mujhay mil jaati haain toh jee karta hainn kay ussay kabhee apnee nazron say doooor na honay doonn! In short I LOVE Khanak!" Shaan took a deep breath.

"That's it Shaan! The solution to your problem!" Akshay said excitedly

"What?" Shaan asked confused.

"This! All that you just said! Say it to her!"

"What? Bhaiyaa you think so?" Shaan asked worried.

"Oye Burthann! Go SAY it!!" Akshay said frantically shaking his arms in the air.

"I will I will!" Shaan said surprised at his brother's excitement "And by the WAY! It's 'Burthal' not Burthann!" Shaan corrected.

"Haan haan Khanak nay toh tumko bari Gujrati sikha dee na! Aur usko toh English sikhanay ka kaam Rishi karay ga! "

"BHAIIYAA!" Shaan's blood boiled.

"I'm joking, I'm joking" Akshay said hurriedly. "Now GO! Tell her!"

"Uskee koi zaroorat nahi hain" came a small voice from the entrance of the room. Shaan turned to see Khanak standing in the doorway, blushing profusely, wringing her hands and looking down. There was a silence. It went on for a minute. More than a minute. Akshay purposely dropped his file. That jolted everyone to their senses

"Khanak?" Shaan said still shocked, still standing in the middle of the room with Akshay. "Kya tumnay---mera mutlub hain---Kya tumnay" Shaan was lost for words.

"Mainay sun liyaaa---" Khanak said softly, not meeting Shaan's eyes.

Akshay cleared his throat loudly. "I think I'll just take this darn file downstairs!" He said picking it up and rolling it. " This room is getting too romantic for my taste----- Never happens when Khushboo is around " he added. Reflecting sadly over what he just said, he strode out of the room.

Khanak came inside, still twiddling her thumbs. Shaan looked at her cautiously and sighed with relief when he saw her smiling. He walked towards her too. "Khanak main----"Shaan started and looked at Khanak, looking down. Shaan took her hands in his and said "Khanak, look at me ---please" Khanak looked up. Shaan looked into her big beautiful eyes and felt the world shining upon him once again.

"Don't say it", Khanak whispered.

"Why?" Shaan breathed back, still holding her hands tight, moving closer

" Because----Because after you say it----You will have to break your promise" Khanak said innocently, but smiled.

Shaan smiled too. "Let me" His head touched hers. Khanak shivered.

"'Let you' what? Say it or break your promise?" she asked

"Let me 'both'! Say it AND break my promise!" Shaan's hand moved towards Khanak's waist.

Khanak turned red. "Alright!" She finally managed "Go ahead then"

Shaan's hand's held her face in his hands and finally said it this time meaningfully. This time he didn't have to hide his 'I Love you' in his appreciation for Khanak agreeing to use all his pictures for the karwa chaW*H or in the 'I love you' that he said to Natasha, looking into Khanak's eyes. This time the words were said all out in the open; face to face, eyes to eyes, heart to heart.

"There goes one! Time to break my promise now" Shaan said mischievously and grinned.

"I guess", Khanak smiled and attempted to look down before Shaan grabbed her face again and kissed her, much more fully and comfortably this time.

'That kiss wasn't my last kiss after all', thought Khanak elatedly.

'This one won't be either', Shaan's thoughts answered Khanak's.
