I respect your opinion but would like to politely disagree. It's true that ShaNak scenes are often cute and funny but i think Khanak is still a powerful role. Look at all the change she has brought in Shaan's personality. Something that Natasha and his whole family couldn't do in years, she did it in one month! How much more power does she need to show? Maana that her power isn't like Arundhati/Jejamma where she is yielding swords and killing with power and sacrificing her life to save the people of her town. But that's not the point of the show. I think it's more about showing the effect she has on Shaan and the change she is bringing in the form of a love story. Statistically speaking, there has to be romance and fluff in the show in order for people to like it. So the point may be lost at times, but i still feel the inner essence remains. 😊

@ bandicoot
I would also like to respectfully disagree. This criticism can be leveled at all shows on the telly right now...most of them struggle to show a 'poweful' woman! And how we define what is powerful depends on who we are, where we come from, education etc etc.. we have to go into the ways the characters have been depicted and see if the portrayal has stayed true to the original premise.

Khanak is quite strong I feel... she is not easily impressed with Shantanu, in spite of his wealth or looks. Makes him work really hard to get her back home... tries to make the best of the situation by learning English etc.... is able to respect another woman's feelings for Shaan.... is trying to honour her commitment to her late husband's family...she is supposed to be 19/20, not highly educated, from a village, etc... so, considering that background, I would say Khanak is doing pretty well...

@tvr
hope you are doing well...long time :)
lol if my ID confused you or u dont remember me(hint: BVD forum)

I am not a regular viewer of odhani... all that i try to do is keep up with the written updates and catch up scenes as and when they arise... what is see is the essence of the drama diluted from being a serious one to a romantic comedy

kanak maybe a strong character..I like her no nonsense attitude a lot..especially when she responded for the way she was pulled up shaan for laughing at her lack of english fluency..

shaan to me looks weakly written...

sometimes script writers do seem to go tangential to favor the theme of the channel in which the drama is being displayed.. the saawariya bit seemed utterly unnecessary

this drama perhaps is the most underrated on Stone TV.... and i felt might be something to look forward to...but the comic situations simply dont seem to gel with me

the oft repeated JWM, Saawariya...seen that already...and seems forced into the script but that is me ofcourse

The Saawariya part I kinda agree with. It does seem unnecessary.... Shaan lovers don't hit me!! *ducks* 😆 I love RBO but I don't think it was the best route for Shaan to admit and embrace his love. They could have come up with better scenarios...

LOL
blackdaughter..thanks for agreeing

no offence .. aand i clearly intend to clarify that i didnt jump into the forum to bash anyone..and thanks not for jumping on me

KT has a good body..but there is no point in pointlessly displaying it right.. he did that in his previous drama too...
one of my fav ppl on IF loves shaan too..or two of my fav ppl..

somewhere all these soaps fall behind in consistency

I wish they all had a bound scipt before starting to shoot

somewhere while i dont expect everybody to be mourning kanak's love(the first one)..the paradigm shift seems too much...but yea this is probably the least chindi-fied of stone tv dramas

so in that case I am happy

I do remember seeing Arundhati siggies on BVD forum but can't place u! Sorry... forgive me... old age... memory fading!😃

RBO is under-rated... don't know whether that's a blessing in disguise. I have not seen the other shows but I hear they are not strong on storyline, so this is good probably...

Abt Saawariya song, well, we spent lot of time debating it and have now decided to sit back and see what happens... it will be a blip for us serious fans... we are interested in what happens after the song....

Abt Shaan's character being weakly written....hmmm... really? why do u say that? I think it's pretty well-written and backed well by KT's acting!

do u remember a strange ID called caro who jumped in for a while and disappeared😆

LOL tvr, it is a blessing in disguise indeed...that you do not have extreme fans.. yes the others are not probably very good on the story line..pretty flaky and very stretched....

saawariya...well mostly i discussed saawariya Off-this forum and kept telling my friends that i would one day discuss the topic with the same title

KT is a good actor... i meant it as a comparative statement. while i dont expectr khanak/shantanu to be in moaning/denial over the whole incident that brought them together..some how maybe that is the way i perceive it, i dont see the strength of character...or i may have well missed a few episodes😆
sorry if my last line threw you off my knowledge of rbo..as i already stated..for me it is mostly written updates..followed by a friend who raves it

oh and I will tell you why RBO is underrated in comparison to other dramas on the youth ki channel

lesser promotions, lesser articles and less fancier costumes... I dont want the costume part to change... because i always like a well clothed actress.. and ya lesser trip-fall scenes when compared to other dramas

you dont have eyelocks stretching half the episode as well

so the crowd is different

bvd never had that big of an audience as well
