In the meanwhile Khanak is disappointed hat he stopped himself and couldn't stop from thinking...he still angry...I really can't tell him the truth about the letter ..or what happened that day...I dont want to creat misunderstanding and contention between Shanatanu and his mom....Please h please God...just let him forgive me and accept me as a friend and help me in getting him back in my life. She was still shivering from the after effects of the near encounter with Shaan..who nearly kissed her...her stomach was still doing somersaults...and she so wanted it to happen...her first kiss...she so wanted to know how it would have felt to be kissed by him, the person she loved so much...but she understood his decision too...he was still angry with her...but she was proud of him too..for stopping...because she knew she wouldn't have stopped him at all...and she did not want him to feel guilty after it...becasue she wouldn't have but she knew Shantanu would have felt guilty for sure.

She did not have anything to wear and she was completely wet...she hesitated before telling her problem to Shantanu...but she did need a change of clothes...hesitatingly she opened the door and said "Shantanu"

"Khanak" said Shantanu at the same time...."Yes" he asked.

"Nahin..app kuch bol rahe the" (you were saying)...said Khanak

"Nahi, tum bolo" (No you say what you had to first) said Shantanu.

"Woh mere pass phane kay liye kuch nahi aur mere puray kapre bhig gaye hai" (I don't have anything to wear as my clothes are completely drenched)...said Khanak.

"Hain mein woh hi leynah ja raha tha, tum nahe lo" ( I was going to get that for you, why dont you take a bath) he replied adn left.

Shantanu left from there , as being close to Khanak...was killing him, not smiling at her, not touching her, and he hated himself from hurting her with his angry words. What he really wnated to do was just ho,d her tight and never let go..he wanted to tell her he loved her and no one else, he wanted to beg her not to leave him, to love him, to stay with him forever...but he couldn't do it...he couldn't bear to see her laugh at him...or make fun of him or reject him again as she did that day crushing his hopes, his dreams all in a single blow. H eshock his head and headed to the reception to ask if there was any clothes shop in the hotel. On asking he found out that ther was only one and they catered nightsuits only.

He knew Khanak did not wear any of the stuf they had...he looked for a decent one for her modesty and his sanity and purchased the only one that fitted that criteria..adn left from there because he wanted to see her in all the other ones that were there.

"Not again Shaan", he chided himself..."Not again...Focus dude Focus...you are still angry with her for her betrayal" he told himself adn went back to their room. He knocked on the door of the washroom and gave her the package sayimng "Yeah hi tha unke pass dukan mein"

Khanak opened the door on his knock and took the package from him, she opned it and saw that it was a gown the kind of one Khusboo bhai wore. She felt slightly uneasy wearing it...but had no option ..so she wore it looked at herself in the mirror and noted it covered her completely and left the room..feeling slightly shy.

Shaan just couldn't take his eyes of her she looked so lovely in pink...the colour suited Khanak to perfection, he notices that she was looking down and was feeling shy..he wanted to put her at ease but stopped himself. He had already removed his wet shirt and had put it on a hangr to dry off in the room..and was in his vest and jeans. na dhad already occupied one side of the bed. Seeing her..shyness...and uncomfortableness he decided to give her time to herself and left her alone in the room going to the washroom giving her space.

"God I need a cold shower" ...and did that and got ready back in his jeans and vest, thank God that they remained dry after the shower incident in the washroom earlier. He came back into the room and noticed that Khanak was sitting on the opposite sode of the bed facing away from him.

"Hum ko ek hi bed per sona hoga, becuase yeahan per koi sofa nahi, agar tum ko koi problem nahi ho to or tum mijhe per bharosa karti ho to" said Shan sitting down on the oppisite side of the bed.

"Ji" replied Khanak without any argument.

Gathering all her courage back together she decided to brooch the subject of them being friends again and hesitatingly asked "Kiya hum apni dosti ko ek aur moka nahi dey sakte?"

Shantanu turned and looked at her ...and thought about it. The whole day she was behaving oddly, was talking oddly, and did not even fight with him once even after all those hurtful stuff he told her. God is this a sign that she is changing...that what I saw in her eyes is love for me or is she falling in love now, did he rush her without talking to her first....after pondering all this..he said I will let you know tomorrow..and closed the light and slept on his side facing away from her.

Khanak was disappointed that eh did not answer immediately but then she coudl not force him could she...and prayed to God that he would say yes in the morning, she had tried all that was possible to show him that she cared for him, loved him, wanted him back in her life...now it was all left in his and Gods hands. Thinking this thought and praying to God for a miricale she went to sleep.

Shantanu was still contiplating what he should answer to her question..because friendship was not what he wanted as he loved her...but ..he so wanted her back in his life, he did not want her to go..he did not even want her to leave his room as she did...maybe he had rushed her, maybe this was Gods way of giving him another chance to woo her properly this time to take it slowly to show her how much he loved her, how much she meant to him, and what her life would be with him forever and forever...with renued determination he decided to use this friendship to love her to woo her to make her fall in love with him and never let her go ever. He smiled to himself at last at peace with himself and thanksed God for givng him this second chance.

Suddenly he felt a warm body bump into him, he turned slighlty and notice that Khanak in her sleep had moved over to his side. He couldn't stop looking at her, she looked like an angel. His saving grace, his angel, his love, his life and his best friend. He moved the hair that covered her face slightly from her face and traced a finger from her temple to her cheeks to her lips. The same lips that only a few hours ago had beggd him to kiss them. He moved his finger slightly over thier fullness. She twiitched again moved her hadn over her face to remove an imaginary speck and after doing so her hand landed on his left hand. She caught hold of it and cuddled more near him. His breathing hitched as she was so close, he could feel the rise and fall of her bre*st...feel her breath on his neck hear her heart beat. He curled his right hand into a fist...as he was controlling himself from touching her again... from breaking her trust in him that she showed by sharing teh same bed with him. Thus looking at her the whole night and with her snuggled close to him he went to sleep..and a most peaceful sleep at that.

In the morning..with the first ray of light....Khanak opened her eyes and saw that she was snuggled too close to Shantanu...with her one arm aroud his waist the other clutching his other hand and her legs slightly on top of his and that his one arm was on top of her waist. She did not move at all ...her breathing stoppe dan just stayed still to savour the feeling of having him this close to her...if he was back in her life as her husband..she would wake up like this ..in his arms forever, never letting go, feeling so loved and cherished.

Shan tnau began to stir and noticed that is arms were over her waist and removed them not disturbing her thinking that she was still asleep..but then notice that she was awake and looking at him..with such adoration and love...it had to be love......he pulled himself away from her and got up...sitiing on the bed...Khaank did the same..and both ended up saying.."sorry" together.

They smiled at each other and Khanak coudl not hold herslef from asking him his answer, asnd asked "Aaap" and Shantanu...who had thouht all night long..coudln't wait to tell her he accepted her friendship offer said at the same time " Main .."

"Ji aap kiya khena chate hai" asked Khanak. (What do you wna tto say)

"Nahi tum phele bolo" replied Shantanu (No you go first)

"Woh aap se poochna that kay aap ne meri raat wali baath ..." and she trailed off. (I wanted to ask about the question I asked last night)

"Mera jawab chaiye nah tumhe" asked Shantanu (you want my answer right)

"Haan" replied Khanak with waited breath (Yes)

"Mera Jawab....." taking a deep pause..to creat drama...looking at her face adn seeing her reaction....he said "Haan hai" (my answere is yes)

And they both look at eachother with smiles on their lips, love in their eyes and love and hope in their hearts.
