i saw in show jai hanuman !! tht when tulsidasji used to write RAMCHARIT MANAS every day HANUMANJI used to listen to what tilsidas ji used to write as tulsidasji used to write RAMCHARITMANAS while singing the dohas & then writing it !!! hanuman ji used to sit on the tree & sometime from behind the trunk of the tree ,under which tulsidas ji used to write RAMCHARIT MANAS without the knowledge of tulsidassji .

it was hanuman ji who asked tulsidasji to write THE STORY OF PRABHU SHRI RAM in awadhi lanuage so tht it cud be reached to the common ppl as VALMIKI RAMAYAN was in sanskrit !!!!

so i both THE RAMAYANS OF TULSIDASJI & VALMIKI JI ARE THE AUTHENTIC SOURCES !!! & SHRI MAD BHAGWAD PURAN !! ASLO !!!

yes both valmiki and tulsidas ramayana version r very authentics

and zee tv ravan is based on ravan wriiten book and ramayana south version

The Buddhist version, or at least the Dasaratha Jataka would cause that problem, yes but not all Jain versions depict Ram-Sita as siblings. They could adapt the Paumacairyu for instance or the Uttar Purana or the appropriate sections from the Trishasti Shalaka Purusha Charita or any of the other versions where Ram-Sita are definitely NOT siblings. 😊

There are also Buddhist versions where Ram-Sita are not siblings, so maybe we could start with them. 😆 The Laotian versions for instance. 😊

BTW, just coz a version is controversial doesn't mean it can't be shown on TV. Whatever happened to tolerating each other's beliefs and all that stuff? The Buddhist and Jain versions should be respected just as the other versions.

Also, it has been debated for the last 100 years now that the Dasaratha Jataka may actually be older than the earlier Valmiki text. It remains disputed. Still, it is interesting. And siblings getting married to each other isn't exactly unknown in world history. It used to happen in ancient times, esp in royal households, to keep the bloodline pure or to keep the wealth in the family etc etc. It may also be that the story is meant to be taken in a metaphorical sense, not literal. Whatever the case maybe, the general public should be made aware that such a version exists. 😉

Respect is not demanded and its not only a matter of belief one should not misuse the freedom of expression. How can contradictory things be shown on TV, if all versions are shown then which is the real Ramayan? Instead of educating them on Ramyan- its relevance and the values it uphelds; one would get confused with all these versions 😉

About Dasharatha jataka: Historian DC Sen makes a statement that it is older than Valmiki Ramayan; this statement is not just disputed as you say but its also REJECTED just like the AIT is rejected.

Again if u read Dasharatha jataka -its a reflection of society where incest was prevalent .It differs from Valmiki Ramayan in many ways also its a no match to the poetic brilliance of Valmiki's Ramayan.
