Some more questions . . .
When did this happen? Immediately after Viraadh's death? If that was so, did Ravan know he will be fighting Ram at that time itself?
If this happened just before the war, I can't understand the timeline . . . (The war raged on for 10 days if I remember correctly and Kumbhkaran was sleeping till he was woken up for war . . . 😕)
I am reminded of the video in 'Om Namah Shivaya' that was posted here 😆

hmm , i read somewhere that to get help of karkati father ravan approached him, he made agreement that he would help him only if he his widow daughter is married to kumbhkaran. so both are married and ravan got the help of his father. she gave birth to a child who was hater of ram as ram made his mother widow twice. he did penance to get power to defeate ram. he was latter killed by lord shiv. i will cheak shiv puran what it speaks and would write latter

I think the video is also posted here. Search from page 55 - that's where the discussion starts.
I have edited my previous post as well pointing to page 55 and 56.

I had no idea it lasted for that long - I was under the impression that it lasted for 9 or 10 days. Chandraketu had posted a day by day events (a brief one) of the events of the war.
I too had read that the war was a brief one and lasted only for some 10 days or so.
I should dig out my books and start reading more about the details of the war.
Besides, why was the war discontinued for 15 days? For the funeral rites, perhaps?

Ok, now I'm backlogged in this discussion 😔
As per this serial, Karkati's family does not know where she had been all these days. And that's why her kith and kin is doubting who the father could be. So unless Karkati says her story here, we would not know which direction the story is taking.
Also I feel she would not be portrayed as marrying Viraadh and then Kumbhakaran even though she is a Rakshasi, bcoz they did not show Tara marrying Sugriv or Mandodari marrying Vibhishan (as per some versions). Hence Karkati may be showed as widow of Kumbhakaran alone.
Also, Rajnish wrt the number of days of the war, I think Valmiki accounts it as thirteen days as per Dr.Vartak (author of Vastav Ramayan). I think he says that on Phalgun Poornima and Phalgun Krishna Prathami, Ram and Ravan arrange their army at strategic points, Angad goes to Ravan's court on Phalgun Krishna Dwithiya, the war commences on Phalgun Krishna Trittiya, and ends with Chaitra Amavasya. Which makes it 13 days from Trittiya thithi to Amavasya. But I may be wrong in my understanding. And I do remember your post wrt 87 days of war. But I wonder if that would have happened taking the fact that it was time sensitive. Bcoz Sita mentions to Hanuman that she would be alive for only 2 more months given Ravan's deadline to accept him.

Hm i went through that post of chandra, its based on Valmiki Ramayana, but it does't gave clear picture of dates and duration of each event. so to know it padma puran is better option but there is always conflicting points between Valmiki and maharishi vyasha. but here i feel vyasha acount to belive as he gave the the exact dates of each events. Also there is many event which is ignored or combined. for instance take lakshman indrajeet final battle which took 2 days and 2 night and we may be counting this as 1 day in our interpretation. and as final battle of Ram and Ravana took place for 18 days as per padma purana. there is many durations too as war was haulted for 5 days when meghnaath made lakshman uncocious. but these all durations is based on Padma purana. As Valmiki version din't give us clear picture of dates. 😕 Also what i belive vyasha version is more authentic then others execpt Valmiki ( where also one cannot say which won over other ).😕

I'll add to the list of Pativratas
Sita,Sulochana,Savitri,Arundhati,Anusuya,Damayanti , Sukanya
Correct me if I'm wrong but the respective husbands of the above listed women didn't have another wife throughout their life and maybe thats why the wives of Krishna specially Rukmini doesn't find place among greatest pativratas. So "Pativratya" has something to do with men also.

Ananya

I overlooked this key point by you - this was something I thought as well - that a pativrata vivaha was only complete when the pati too decided to be a part of it. Hence, it was Shiva (Sati), Rama (Sita), Satyavan (Savitri), Indrajit (Sulochana), Atri (Anusuya) and Kapila (Shrimati) who enabled their wives to go on the satitva list.

Another key part of this was that the women in question never worshipped anybody other than their husbands. Hence, women who did worship people other than their husbands (say, Draupadi worshipping Krishna, or UMS joining their husbands in worshipping Rama) didn't get that recognition.

P.S. Rajnish, I thought you were a Patna based Marathi and your last name was Here (pronounced Hey-ray)😉
