The episode of 27 Jan 09 showed the battle between Anaranya and Ravan. So let me write something about king Anaranya. As shown in the serial, he was Ikshvaku-vanshi.
According to Valmiki Ramayan, the following descendancy is given from Anaranya to Ram:-

Anaranya
Prithu
Trisanku
Dhundhumar
Yuvanasva
Mandhat
Susandhi
Dhruvasandhi
Bharat
Asit
Sagar
Asamanj
Ansuman
Dilip
Bhagirath
Kakusth
Raghu
Saudas
Sankhan
Sudarshan
Agnivarn
Sighrag
Maru
Prasusruk
Ambarish
Nahush
Nabhag
Aj
Dashrath
Ram

As you can see, Lord Ram came 29 generations after Anaranya!

The above is written in Ayodhya kand.
The name of king Anaranya again finds mention in Yudh kand:- When the first time, Ram and Ravan fought, then Ravan was easily defeated. Ram asked him to go to Lanka, take rest, and come back for war rejuvenated.

Ravan went back to the city of Lanka. He felt very insulted. He said to the deomns, "All the great penance performed by me became a waste for I, who is equal to Indra, has been defeated by a human. From Lord Brahma, I asked that I should not die at the hands of gods, demons, gandharvas, yakshas, nagas. But I made no mention of humans. I think that Ram, the son of Dashrath, is the one of whom Anaranya born in Ikshvaku dynasty spoke saying, 'In my race will be born a man, who will kill you in battle along with your sons, ministers, army, horses and charioteer.'"

Actually yes, Ravan was quite an old dude 😆
He had become age less due to his 'Shiv-bhakti'
Not all the kings who are given in the list rule Ayodhya; eg Asamanja, Saudasa also known as Kalamashpad didn't rule sine they were banished.
Asamanja whose name itself means- 'dilemma' was a psychopath who used to get pleasure by drowning children in water, hence he was banished
Saudasa got involved in an embroil with his guru Vashishtha's son Shakti and even killed the latter after he was cursed by shakti ( to become a rakshasa) so he too was banished.
