Wow, great info from everyone.👏 And thanks Akhl for starting this topic. It's very interesting.⭐️ I noticed some differences in names from everyone's list, but no matter who's right or not, one thing is for sure. Ravan was one heck of an old guy!😆 I wonder how old Indrajit and Sulochana were then? Anyone know?
One more thing guys: I always read that Sitaji was 14 and Shri Ram 16 when they got married. Does it say in Valmiki Ramayan that Sita was 8 or 9?😲 Never knew this...
I wonder why people choose such older actresses for Sita then? Deepika was 24-25 when playing Sita and I think Debina is 24 (not sure). I wonder why they can't choose a 14 year old actress? Maybe it's because younger girls can't portray the divinity......
It'd be interesting if a movie/serial is made in the future with a 16 year old actor for Rama and 14 year old actress for Sita.😳
Or maybe, since most of the Ramayan takes place when Sita and Ram are 20-35, they need to choose older actors.
I'm blabbering, sorry.....😳😆

i think its soo cool how in our religion that everything is documented and can be traced back..

My guru knows so much, one day someone asked him do you know the name of Ravan's sword (they were being smart), and he didnt know..But he researched and found out the meaning and name of the sword...i forgot...but it was cool hearing it..

The story itself - Mandhata was on a world conquest before he decided to take on Indra, and was diverted by him towards Lavanasur. At any rate, he fought a war with Ravan (I'm forgetting whether he invaded Lanka or Ravan invaded Ayodhya). In this battle, he released the Brahmastra on Ravan, while Ravan released the Pasupatastra of Shiva on him. In order to prevent the world from being destroyed by the combined force of these arrows, Brahma got them to recall their weapons, and accept that neither was defeated by the other. As a result, this is not counted as one of Ravan's defeats, while when Indra asked Mandhata whether he had conquered Ravan, Mandhata replied that his battle with Ravan was resolved as per Brahma's desire. Then Indra suggested that he claim Devalok only after defeating Lavanasur. The rest is history.

thanks 4 the story chandra👏. yeh it was mandhata who invaded lanka as far as i remember😊

yup ramji was 15 or 16 and sitaji was 8 or 9 when they got married and fir the reason i think olser girl is chooses for sitaji role because if u choose a 8 or 9 yr girl they will not be able to potray the love and grace which is required during swamvar or wedding rituals as ram sita marriage is best part of whole ramayan
