That was king Mandhat.
Anaranya
Prithu
Trisanku
Dhundhumar
Yuvanasva
Mandhat
Mandhat was 25 generations before Ram. Thus Lavanasur was very old compared to Shatrughna.

From Akhl's list, starting from Bhagirath to Aja

Bhagirath
Kakusth
Raghu
Saudas
Sankhan
Sudarshan
Agnivarn
Sighrag
Maru
Prasusruk
Ambarish
Nahush
Nabhag
Aj

From Rajnish's list, same range of kings
44. Bhagiratha
45. Sruta
46. Nabhaga
47. Amabarisa
48. Sindhudvipa
49. Ayutayus
50. Rtuparna
51. Sarvakama
52. Sudasa
53. Mitrasaha
54. Asmaka
55. Mulaka
56. Sataratha
57. Aidavida
58. Visvasaha I
59. Dilipa II
60. Dirghabahu
61. Raghu
62. Aja

Why is there such a different list of kings between the 2 rulers? Also, from what I remember, Raghu was the son of Dilipa II (Dilipa I was Bhagirath's father and Sagar's grandson) and succeeded him directly - I didn't know of any Dirghabahu in between, although there may have been another ruler by that name in the dynasty.

And if this wasn't confusing enough, I had a third list, which had the following rulers - I'm just listing Aranya to Rama:

Anranya ->
Haryaashwa ->
Aruoa ->
Tribandhan ->
Satyavrat (OR) Trishanku ->
Harishchandra (OR) Satya Harishchandra ->
Rohit ->
Harit ->
Champaa ->
Sudev ->
Vijaya ->
Bharook ->
Vrik ->
Baahuk ->
Sagar ->
Asamanjas ->
Anshumaan ->
Dileep ->
Bhageerath ->
Shrut ->
Naabh ->
Sindhudwaash ->
Ayutaayu ->
Rutuparoa ->
Sudaasu (OR) Mitrasaha (OR) Kalmaashanghri ->
Ashmak ->
Maalak ->
Naareekavacha ->
Dasharath ->
Idvidaa ->
Vishwasaha ->
Khatvaang ->
Dheerghbaahu - also known as Dileep ->
Raghu ->
Aj ->
Dasharath ->
Raam

Above, Dheerghbaahu is shown to be the same as Dileep II. In Raghuvansha, Dileep is childless and only after atoning for his unintended slight of Surabhi by selflessly serving Nandini is he blessed with a son Raghu, who goes on to become the greatest of the rulers of the dynasty such that the dynasty bears his name from Dasharath onwards.

Exit question: What are the sources of these various lists? My one is taken from the Bhagvatjee site that has a Valmiki Ramayan online, while I saw another list on a Rajput wiki site that had the entire suryavansh and chandravansh dynasties. Are these lists taken from the Puranas, or from Sanskrit literature from the time of Kalidasa? In other words, what point in time can they be traced back?

Mandhat was 25 generations before Ram. Thus Lavanasur was very old compared to Shatrughna.

The story itself - Mandhata was on a world conquest before he decided to take on Indra, and was diverted by him towards Lavanasur. At any rate, he fought a war with Ravan (I'm forgetting whether he invaded Lanka or Ravan invaded Ayodhya). In this battle, he released the Brahmastra on Ravan, while Ravan released the Pasupatastra of Shiva on him. In order to prevent the world from being destroyed by the combined force of these arrows, Brahma got them to recall their weapons, and accept that neither was defeated by the other. As a result, this is not counted as one of Ravan's defeats, while when Indra asked Mandhata whether he had conquered Ravan, Mandhata replied that his battle with Ravan was resolved as per Brahma's desire. Then Indra suggested that he claim Devalok only after defeating Lavanasur. The rest is history.

chandra i dint used here any religious book, i just copied from one of the previous post , i provided the link of that post at the end of my post, also the source of that post too were not any scriptures but a book name 'Ayodhya Ka Itihas' written about eighty years back by Rai Bahadur Sita Ram. Avinash is writing from valmiki ramayan, different scriptures mantioned little differently, bhagwad is also a source as there is mentioning about much of them in bhagwat. internet sources may differe sometimes from original

Lord!! cant believe!
So, how old was Ravan when he fought with Lord Ram!
In those time, ppl usually had long lives, but....

He should have treated Sitaji as a daughter, at least!! or grand grand grand ....29th times.....grand-daughter!!

It was all Prabhu's Lila.

might be the difference aroused from ruler and ancestors🤔. just checked srimad bhagwatam which mentioned all this name as ancestors (prithu F\o vishtaraswa f\o ardara.........) might be possible some of them were not rulers but valmiki ramayan mentioned rulers ( Anaranya ruled then Prithu ruled then Trisanku ruled ). cant say as i am now so confused too. someone plzz correct me🤓
