In today's Ramayan, like in AS Ramayan b4 it, and in DBSK for Krishna, they showed Vishnu up in Vaikuntha discussing something w/ Narada, while Rama is going through whatever he's going though in Chitrakoot.

Do you find that believable at all?? In particular, if Rama was the avatar of Vishnu, do you believe that Vishnu could have been up in Vaikuntha when he had come down to earth particularly to destroy Ravan?

ya i believe that lord Vishnu could have been up in Vaikuntha when he had come down to earth

particularly to destroy Ravan because lord vishnu is our god , he has supernatural power so that

he can easily change his forms , he takes avatar of lord rama ( ramji was avatar of sri hari) but

the lord vishnu was as it was in vaikunth , no doubt , In the same way , lord hanuman was
avatar of lord shiva but he was as it is in kailash.

But then that begs another question - at the end of Rama's reign, why would the devas & Brahma have sent Mahakal to Rama to persuade him to end his avatar - maybe taking a bit more time if he so desired? If Vishnu was always in Vaikuntha, there is no way the devas would have 'missed' him.

In fact, the first 5 avatars of Vishnu - Matsya thru Narasimha - Vishnu just took those forms for a short while before reverting to his normal self (I'm going by the dasha-avatar theory, not the 22 avatar of Vaisapayana) while from Vamana onwards, he actually took human births and lasted for years. I've never read of Vishnu being there in Vaikuntha doing squat - he was always where the avatar was, whether it was visiting Bali, wiping out kshatriyas as Parashurama, or as Rama and Krishna.

In the case of Vamana, Vamana, as a child, visited Bali and reclaimed the worlds from him. Parashurama was long lived, but his avatar may have ended after either his encounter w/ Rishi Kashyap asking him to end his wars, or his encounter w/ Rama after the latter's marriage.

In case of Rama, Brahma sent Mahakal to him to invite him to return to Vaikuntha. In case of Krishna, the 2 curses the Yadavas received - from the rishis and from Gandhari - saw to their destruction as well. In both cases of Rama & Krishna, the devas saw to it that they got a fitting journey back to Vaikuntha, all in all suggesting that Vaikuntha was vacant during their lifetimes.

@Vrish:
May I suggest something?
Are you absolutely sure you understand the Sanskrit terms 'Sarvavyapak' & 'Sanatan'? If not, find out more about these two terms and you'll get the answers. 😊

I mentioned it above. There are 2 accounts of Parashurama's avatar ending - one is that when Rishi Kashyap approached him and ordered him to stop his genocidal war on kshatriyas and he acquiesced, he remained alive, but his Vishnu avatar ended - after that point, he was no longer an avatar of Vishnu, but having being blessed by his father as being immortal, he continued to live. The other account is that after his encounter w/ Rama, when Rama strung Vishnu's bow, Vishnu left Parashurama and entered Rama, and at that point, Vishnu's 6th avatar ended and the 7th one began.

Otherwise, in Dwapar Yuga, both Krishna & Parashurama existed, but nobody approached Parashurama asking him to be an alternate power center alternative to Krishna. Indeed, Parashurama was defeated by Bheeshma in battle over Amba. Does one think that he was still Vishnu's avatar when he was defeated? He had ceased to be one a yuga ago.

I don't know those 2 terms, or how they would explain this.

Great. Well, forget it then. Those who know, I'm sure, have got the point. 😊
