'Nalambalam' is a set of four Hindu temples in Kerala. In malayalam, Nalu means four and Ambalam means Temple.Nalambalam Yatra begins from the Rama temple in Triprayar and ends up at Shatrughna Temple in Payyammal. It is customary to visit the four temples in the order Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna respectively

The "Oottuppura" where Annadhanam ( Anna Dhaan)is performed everyday and the devotees can have the Prasad which is nothing less than a feast.
There is a pattern for visiting the temples during the month of "Karkkidakam"
Shri Ram temple is visited first in the early hours for the "nirmalya darshan" around 3 AM . There is a deity of Shri Hanuman and Shri Subrahmanya adjacent to Shri Ram temple. Devotees visit there because visit of Shri Ram is incomplete without visiting Shri Hanuman. After this, Shri Bharat's temple is visited for the darshan around 5-6AM. Following this Shri Lakshman temple is visited which is a little farther being situated in the adjacent district Ernakulam. It is mentioned in the books that it is Shri Lakshman's test to his devotees if they visit him after enduring the sufferings because the route to the temple was difficult (termed as durgam) in olden days. After this, the devotees return back to Shri Shatrughna Swamy temple at Thrissur district by around 10-10.30AM.
Some devotees also plan their visit to another Hanuman Swamy temple closer yet a little away from Shri Ram temple at Tripprayar and also to "Pambumekkattumana" where devotees worship the Serpent gods.
After visiting all his brothers, Shri Ram is visited by the devotees second time on the same, indirectly a kind of affirmation to have visited all his dear brothers. It is only after this that the "anna dhaanam at the temple at Trippayar becomes functional by around 11.30 AM
In the month of "karkkidakam", Ramayan is read in most of the homes in Kerala. The Nalambalam ( Nalu + Ambalam meaning Four temples) visit was earlier restricted to the holy month wheras it has gained more popularity now in the past five years and devotees visit all the four temples throughout the year.
P.S : Request to not quote entire post ..thanks :)
When Lord Vishnu was asked by devarishi Narad as to why the Lord was not disturbed by the fact that Laxman had been Gravely injured by Indrajit. at that time Lord Shiva answers the sage by saying that Shesha had the power to imbibe both Halal(poison) and Amrita(nectar) and as such could not be affected by the Shakti spear, but because the shakti spear was given to Indrajit after Pleasing Mata Shakti with his penance, So out of respect for Mata Shakti Laxman accepted the attack of the "shakt spear" on his chest.
The city of Lucknow was reportedly the ancient capital of Lakshmana and known as Lakshmanapura.
THANK YOU NEILU...WONDERFUL TALE...ESPECIALLY THE PICS...GREAT...BY BRINGING THEM YOU MADE SOMETHING IMPOSSIBLE...POSSIBLE😃...COULDN'T FIND ANY PICS OF URMILA TILL NOW!!!
For Sita, Rama was her life. She could not bear separation from Him even for a minute. So, she begged to be allowed to accompany Rama to the forest.
What you have to realise or understand today is that the Lord can never be put to any danger. He enacts a divine drama in order to set an ideal to the world. Only those whose hearts are pure can understand His ways. Only Urmila could understand the sacred heart of Lakshmana. Only mother Sumitra knew the greatness of her sons Lakshmana and Satrughna. It is but natural that the mother understands the nature of her sons. This sacred land of Bharat has given to the world the most precious gems in the form of ideal mothers and ideal wives. Many more wonderful and mysterious events took place, but they are not revealed in the Ramayana.
