I knowww! I'm sorry I said you'll get the update today! But studies and life came in the way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So, I'm still writing the chapter, and after leaving you guys on a cliffy I feel really bad not updating! I've been busy with studies and whatnot, so I didn't have time to complete the chapter.
SO, as compensation, I'm going to give you guys a bit of a preview! Hope you guys like it.
Preview! (Chapter: 10)
"Okay. Where do we go?" Asad said taking a step towards Zoya and shaking the hand she was holding out. A tingling sensation shot up his arms as he held her hand. He didn't know why, or how, but it just felt right! Her slender hand fit perfectly into his, almost like it was made for him to hold. He had never done this before, get to know a person. He wasn't sure if he liked it, but Zoya just made everything in the world seem so easy. His eyes shot up to meet Zoya's, who looked like she felt the same sensation he was feeling. Awkwardly, he pulled away his hand, despite not wanting to.
"I know a good joint, it's just a few blocks away. The owner is a good friend of mine!" She said beaming, while Asad found himself getting lost in those adorable dimples. What was happening to the playboy/ruthless businessman, Asad Ahmed Khan?
😁😏
love you guys! And sorry again for being late on updating.

1-2 ghanton mein aa jayegi
So sorry for the late update! I was caught up with my studies and my bestie was going through something so I had to spend some time with her. Here you go with the next chapter!
Lost Without You
Chapter 10A: When You Smile, The Whole World Stops And Stares For A While
Zoya got lost in those chocolate brown eyes as soon as she opened her tear-brimmed ones. They were looking down at her with care and... concern?
"S-sorry." She muttered and awkwardly got out of his grip. She straightened herself and turned to walk away. She didn't have the energy to deal with his shenanigans right now. She'd taken a step away when she felt his warm hand rest on her shoulder. Zoya shrugged it off unceremoniously, misunderstanding his intentions. "Mr. Khan, I'm not in the mood to deal with your shit right now. If you're stopping me just to 'talk' about what happened that night, know that I don't give a damn about the incident, I'm your temporary head graphic designer and you're my boss. I know that even if you DID kiss me, it was just to get me into bed as you have with many women." Zoya lost her temper on him. "Please just leave it at that. You have so many better options than me! You have money, looks, and women fall at your feet! What makes you want ME in your bed when you can have supermodels in there!"
"I-"
"I'm not in the mood to argue and I'm pissed, drained, and fatigued. I swear if you don't leave me alone right now I'm gonna kick you in the balls." Zoya glared at him, to her disappointment, Asad was pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Are you done?" He asked, clearly annoyed with the big speech she just made him listen. Zoya furrowed her brows in confusion. "Listen I'm not in the mood to argue either, you seem to have developed a liking in bumping into me so I was just helping you. Also, you looked like you weren't having a great day so I just decided to check if you're fine, but no! YOU think I'm making a move on you!"
"I'm sorry, I-"
"You're right you know? I can have a supermodel in my bed! Why am I even bothering about you?" Asad said exasperatedly and dragged a tired hand down his face. He turned around to walk away.
"W-wait!"
Wait, why am I even stopping him?! What the hell?
He paused, his heart fluttering. Slowly, steadily he turned around to face Zoya. She was holding one arm up as if she was about to place it on his shoulder.
What the heck just happened?
"Look, we're both having a bad day, and we both don't want to argue. How about we grab a cup of coffee? As good friends?" Zoya asked, holding out a hand for him to shake it. "Or... two people who just met each other?" Zoya didn't know why she stopped him or asked him if he wanted to grab a coffee. The word vomit just kept tumbling out! And she hated it whenever this happened! For some reason, she wanted to talk to someone. Vent out all her feelings, cry her eyes out. She wanted a shoulder to cry on. This is how she felt whenever she missed her Ammi and her sweet sister. She let her miseries out on the most random things! In this case, it was talking to Asad.
Not ASAD! He's Mr. Khan for you remember?
Asad looked at her quizzically and said, "But we haven't just met. We met about two months ago!"
Coffee, alone, with a woman I can't get out of my mind? I think I'll pass.
"Yeah but we barely know each other." She said shrugging. Asad's eyebrows rose. "I-I mean as...people. You know, favorite things, colors, hobbies, that sort of stuff." Zoya spluttered seeing the smirk spreading on Asad's face. "You in?"
Awkwardly, he pulled away from her hand, despite not wanting to.
"I know a good joint, it's just a few blocks away. The owner is a good friend of mine!" She said beaming, while Asad found himself getting lost in those adorable dimples. What was happening to the playboy/ruthless businessman, Asad Ahmed Khan? They both started walking to the place, sharing a few awkward brushes of the hand that sent shivers down both their spines. Asad's mind was once again whizzing through thoughts. This was the first time he'd not felt like a living corpse on his birthday. Yes, it was his birthday, the 13th of November.
Why does being around this woman make me feel like all my worries have just... disappeared? Why does she make me forget all anguish, without even going to bed with me? Why do I feel like talking to her, comforting her, and making the tears I saw in those gorgeous eyes disappear? What's happening to me?
He decided to ask his father, the best love guru he'd ever known! Rashid had never approved of Asad's one-night stands. He would always shake his head whenever Asad told him that there were no feelings involved. Asad guessed that his dad would be the happiest man in the world when he would tell him about Zoya. That he can't get her out of his mind and that he hasn't slept with a single woman since that fateful night when they had kissed. Good lord that kiss, since that night his dreams had been plagued by thoughts about Zoya. Her lips had tasted sweeter than any honey, softer than a butterfly's wings, more sinful than a-
"C'mon! We're here." Zoya's voice broke him out of his thoughts. He nodded and followed her into a small coffee shop that was barely noticeable among all the bright lights of other, bigger stores.
"This is the joint you were talking about?" Asad asked, a bit taken aback by the appeal of the place. It wasn't like the usual places which the women he dated had requested him to take them to. This one was more, simple. Unlike the places, he went to, which were all posh and expensive and were crammed with shrewd people. He looked around the place, people were laughing, talking and everyone seemed to know each other. He wasn't sure if he liked it, but the sight brought a ghost of a smile to his face.
"Hey! Is Joey here?" Zoya asked a waitress near an oak wood counter.
Joey? Who's Joey? Is he-
"Zoe! How nice to see you here! C'mere and give your old man a hug!" Boomed a deep voice from the kitchen door and a flash of pastel blue went past Asad and into Joey's arms. Asad felt a pang of jealousy, but when he saw who Joey was, he instantly relaxed.
Joey was a sweet, elderly man with a lot of love to give. He gave Zoya a huge bear hug and she laughed, throwing her arms around him and hugging him back. Asad's heart fluttered when he heard her laugh, it was the sweetest damn sound he'd ever heard. He kept staring at the fairy before him, her dimples seemed to steal the spotlight every time. Her smiling calmed him, soothed him. It made him believe that there was hope in the world. He hadn't felt that way since his Ammi died, he became this sort of, stone-hearted human being.
"Joey! Meet Asad Ahmed Khan, my boss. And a friend." Zoya said directing Joey towards Asad. Zoya flashed a sweet smile at him that made his stomach erupt into butterflies. He politely shook hands with the man.
What is she doing to me?
They both sat at a table for two and ordered their coffees.
"One french-pressed black coffee, no sugar please."
"And one chocolate frappucino with extra whipped cream, drizzled with hazelnut sauce and double chocolate chips."
Asad gaped at Zoya. She ignored for a few minutes, but was soon uncomfortable and broke the silence.
"What?" She said shrugging. "It's my usual!"
"THAT, is your USUAL?" Asad asked, still gaping at her as their order was placed in front of them.
"Yeah! At least, I didn't order black and bitter coffee, like YOU! How can drink black coffee? That too without sugar?!" Zoya questioned him.
"Like YOU can drink coffee with whipped cream and chocolate chips and...whatever!" Asad said flailing his hands in annoyance. No one had ever questioned him before, how did she even have the guts to?
He looked at her, sipping his coffee and observing her enjoy her frappucino, They talked about their interests and hobbies, well, Zoya did. Asad was silenced into listening as she spoke, and couldn't help but smile slightly as he saw her silly expressions while talking about Star Wars and Marvel and whatnot. He didn't understand a damn thing, all he could focus on was Zoya. He noticed how her eyes had this spark in them when she talked about her passion for art and design. Her eyes, god her eyes were beautiful. The lashes fanned her cheeks every time she blinked, the color of her eyes was dark, honey-brown. He swore he could get lost by just staring into them all day.
"Hey! Are you done drinking? I was thinking we should leave now..." Zoya said as she slurped the last of the coffee up with her straw. Asad nodded. Zoya asked for the bill and insisted that she pay, Asad tried to pay as well but earned a glare from her and backed away.
The pair strolled out into the chilly November air and walked back towards their homes.
"So..."
"So..."
"A-Are you going to Mr. Rashid's place or..." Zoya decided to break the ice.
"Yeah. I need to stay there for a few days." Asad said sighing. Zoya furrowed her brows. No telling her to mind her own business? No sexual innuendo? What was wrong with Mr. Asshole?
"May I ask why?"
"Uhm...okay don't hate me for this..."
"Mr. Khan," Zoya said dully.
"Yeah?"
"I already hate you," Zoya said, a smug smile lining her face. "Just in case you forgot."
Asad rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I know. Anyways, it's...my birthday." Asad quickly breathed out and shut his eyes, preparing for the outburst.
"WHAT?!" And there it was. "It's your birthday?! I...I thought you'd be-"
"At a party?"
"Yeah! I mean, I thought you'd be having fun! You know, dancing, drinking, knocking up Tanveer..." Zoya scowled towards the end of the sentence and looked down to her feet. "Anyways, happy birthday!"
"You know, I've never celebrated my birthday after my fourteenth one," Asad said. Zoya looked at his face, he looked forlorn and there was hurt lingering in his eyes. "Every time I try, I just...miss her so much." He said.
Zoya could hear the tears in his voice and saw them as well! She gasped. "Mr Khan?"
"My mother passed away when I was fourteen."
So that was it guysooss! I knowww it's extremely, horribly, gut-wrenchingly short! But I seriously don't have time to write more! I apologize to each and every one of you for this! I'm sorry!
love you guys!
