Karan Singh Grover opens up on Qubool Hai 2.0 reminding of Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger. Shot in Belgrade, Serbia, the series is set to premiere on Zee 5 tomorrow, March 12.

How is Qubool Hai 2.0 different from Qubool Hai?

The character names are the same and also the characters are the same. Asad is exactly like Asad was, the same family, the same background, everything is the same except for the fact that he is not into architecture now. Now he is a world champion shooter. Zoya's character is also the same. However, her back story has changed a lot. Her family is also different. We are the 2021 versions of Asad and Zoya, not very different character-wise but we are in a different universe. It's like the alternate universe of Asad and Zoya.

You mean there is no difference between OG Asad and Asad 2.0?

No, everything is the same. He is still sadu and khadoos. He still has an obsessive-compulsive disorder. We actually have a few scenes that are the same as last time but obviously in different locations and different universe. He is still the same person. Just has another edge to him, now that he has been recruited by the government because of his shooting skills. He is very very angry all the time.

How was it reuniting with the old cast after seven years (Karan Singh Grover quit Qubool Hai in 2014)?

I shot only with Surbhi because the whole story is set in another country, in Belgrade, Serbia. I didn't shoot with Shalini (Sagar) or Neha (Laxmi). I met Neha one day. She was shooting in Bombay. I was happy to meet her. Shalini and I haven't met yet. I am waiting to meet Vaquar (Shaikh) and everyone.

It must have been a challenge to shoot in Belgrade, Serbia?

It's a beautiful place and it was beautiful being there and shooting there. It is bone-chilling cold but that is something we can manage. It's not a thing that we need to fear. It's just cold so just wear more clothes. It was good to not sweat. We are so used to the heat and humidity and sweat while working out. On my day out one day, I worked out for 45 minutes and I had like one drop of sweat on my forehead and I said 'hey I am sweating'. And, as soon as I said that two seconds later, the sweat froze. But it was a lot of fun. There is no frame that is not beautiful.

Seeing the trailer, one can find a resemblance to Ek Tha Tiger. Is it inspired by the film?

No, it's not inspired by Ek Tha Tiger. I am sure it has been inspired by a lot of scripts, a lot of films because in the whole world we have only like 10 stories to tell and we all tell the same stories in different ways and different languages. So, I am sure some things will remind you of other things but no specific inspiration from Ek Tha Tiger.

Qubool Hai 2.0 is ready to release. Have you all started working on the second season?

It's still being written. I think the broad story has been written. The break down will happen, then pre-production will happen and then we will start shooting in about 4-5 months.

So im assuming in july - august shooting will start and maybe before end of the year we will get part 2...how much we willhave to wait😓.i guess it will be good for all when we see the whole cast together
