As usual. An amazing update. Now we get a scope on zoyas misery as well. My heart goes out to the poor girl. So she is the "reason" her jeeju got killed. And she has to live with that sorrow! Poor girl!! And the cutting part was so beautifully written. I know ppl who have done that to themselves and they say exactly the same thing. It's like releasing the pain out of ur body. I'm loathing sameer right now. What an evil character
Loved the whole part. Asad a speech felt heartfelt and genuine. And zoya got what she desired, a background for asads behavior.
Zoya ignoring her grandparents was just what they deserved!! They don't deserve her in their life.
Asad ayaan talk was so warm and if feels like that's the most Asad has spoken aloud about his feelings.
A darker update, but it was absolutely brilliant. And lengthy for us readers who can't seem to get enough of ur story.

What a long and lovely update Daisy!
Poor Zoya! This sameer is such an asshole. Typical MCP with zero respect for women. Hope he gets the thrashing he deserves. Can you please make Asad castrate him? And he killed Faizan too :(
Can't imagine the kind of guilt Zoya has to live with

Speaking of guilt, I am so mad at Dilshad for playing a part in stealing Asads dream. But I love that it made her character so human. My heart broke when I heard his story. It did clear up a lot of things though. So I'm guessing Asad and ayaan met in London and probably got trained or something to be part of the brotherhood.

Okay another thing I'm guessing is that Zoya is Zainabs daughter. I think zainab, gafoor and Malik were in college together when this might have happened and zainab is maliks unrequited live interest.

Akrams reentered too :( why are all these weird men after Zoyas life. I'd be worried for her but I know her knight in shining armour is ALWAYS around her.

Asad has blood on his hands?!? :O I guess azlan is taking about pari's mother. I heart broke right along with Asad and azlan when they had their brawl. Poor things. They really need to hug it out and get over this once and for all

Naina is playing with fire. She's going to destroy ayaans heart. Never thought humeira would be so negative. Guess she does have some of her mothers genes.

LOVED the ayaan and Asad scene at the end "too soon? Too soon"

Itching to read more. The pictures you put up were fantastic. Can't wait for Asya to spend some moments in asya's corner

Please please please update super soon. I'm obsessed with your FF

Awesome Update
Loved it totally
finally asad's patience broke and he took out his anger on zoya
the criminals attacked on the place where the king went for dinner
zoya also reached there and second time she met the stranger
she obeyed his order and run from there
Dilshaad is such a sweetheart who can take risk of her son's safty for a girl whom she know from small time
loved their bonding
so 's' guy saved the king
zoya wore the chain again
she tried to apolosised but he did even hear her
zoya's cake making scene was so funny
Malik give azlan to guard asad intentally
zoya will never change
she danced infront of the couple to make them more angry
why zoya's nani and nanaboo came towards her
and why the great shazia now regertful
Zoya and her love for ps4
poor asad cannot even sleep peacefully in his own home
but zoya is not going to change
love their bickering but now i want understanding between them as friends
zoya went to concert against asad's wish
asad's another painful memory from past
ayaan put zoya in trouble after telling asad truth
azlan and ayaan fought again
asad's anger toward zoya was so high that he ruined the cup cake made by her
loved the update

Part 14: Phir Se Ud Chala...

Back at Kasauli Police Station:

Asad walked through the station more arrogantly than usual, a small smirk and cocky smile playing on his lips as he saw the police officers all staring at him with pure undiluted dislike, and resentment. Holding a brown paper bag he knocked on Malik's cabin door leaning against it with his back as he glared down a police officer who was trying to get an upper hand at the cocky quotient by putting his handgun in full display of Asad as if it would scare him off or show him his 'place'. All it did was make him roll his eyes and want to laugh out loud. These clowns could be so cute at times. Thankfully before Asad's arrogance and the mutual hatred could cause a scene Malik yelled a 'come in' and Asad twisted the knob walking in. Making Malik smile.
Malik - There you are. I was wondering where my boy had disappeared to. I thought you were going to be a no show.
Asad - Are you that insecure? Don't you know me better than that?
Malik- I was just about to call you, thinking you were planning on ditching me last minute as punishment for assigning the Palace boys as your security detail.
Asad - I don't punish children. They don't know better, so they act in absurd ways.
Malik - Ahh. So now I'm an absurd child.
Asad - Of course. (Raised an eyebrow) Why? You want to tell me you didn't do that out of pure pettiness? You showed both me and the Haveli boys, who is 'in charge'. Made both them and me suffer from the whole arrangement. Bruised our egos and sat back and watched the show. (Malik just started laughing heartedly, getting the last laugh in.)
Malik - Ok I admit. It was pretty damn worth it. You ladies are just so entertaining to watch. More than any soap opera or complicated love story, I'd pay to watch an episode of the Azlan and Asad show. (Asad stared at him not at all impressed or agreeable. Instead he ripped open the brown bag, NEATLY & pulled out a shawarma wrap making Malik's laugh die down.)
Malik - (Stared at Asad with wide eye's) Is that a chicken shawarma from-
Asad - DJ's Mhmm.
Malik - Made specially by-
Asad - Nikhil himself.
Malik- You know That's my-
Asad - (raised an eyebrow at him) Favourite food? I know. (Malik just stared at him and Asad calmly took a small bite of his shawarma completely unfazed by Malik shaking his head at him)
Malik - And you didn't think to bring me one? (Asad shrugged and Malik sighed) - Okay, you made your point. I should've known. You would be mad.
Asad - What else did you expect of me? To thank you and go give the clowns a hug and beg them to detail for me? I can protect myself and the entire student and staff faculty on my own better then they can protect themselves.
Malik - (rolled his eyes) as endearing as it always is to see your love for your own self I called you here for a reason, so let's not waste time chit chatting and get down to business..
Asad - (stared at him with his same damned poker face) Why, are you mad? Mad that I didn't bring you a shawarma?
Malik - No. I'm not childish like you are. (Asad shook his head at him as Malik sighed)
Asad - So., what is it? Pease tell me your finally going to accept that this circus is hopeless and your going to retire.
Malik - (sighed) No Asad, that's not it. I know you dream of me retiring day and night but I'm sorry today is not the day your dreams come true. (Asad just scoffed and Malik sighed, a little hesitant and embarrassed) it isn't what you think it is, but yes, it is about the police force. The 'circus' as you call it. Asad, I know you have your differences with the Law system here-
Asad - More like lack of..
Malik - Yes, but it's still a system Asad and it serves as hope to the people of Kasauli. It lets them know that we're there to help them, protect them and bring them out of their worries and dark days. Believe it or not we try our BEST, with WHATEVER resources we have to help the people of this town to the best of our ability.
Asad - (Trying to keep his voice and the underlying anger in check) With all due respect uncle, just in the past week, three orphan kids were shot and their bodies were left as trophies in the middle of town square. Two days ago, there was an attack on the ELITIST of this town by two KIDS. Despite your entire force being present there to prevent it. And just last night-
Malik - That's exactly what it is though Asad.
Asad - What- Uncle please khul ke bolein aap kya bolna chahte hain. I have no idea what you're trying to say.
Malik - (sighed) You remember when the government began cutting funding off from Kasauli Hospital (Asad nodded) remember what became of the hospital? The whole city, us included blamed the hospital staff; doctors and nurses at their incompetency at doing their jobs. Blamed them for the long line ups, lack of staff, service, attention and immediate medical care for those in need of it. Blamed them for the increased mortality rates. Especially the 150 people who died of food poisoning, 20 children who died of hypothermia and the family of 10 in that car crash all in one day because they didn't have enough staff or tools to save them.
Asad - Yes but-
Malik - Do you remember what that day did to you? You saw the news and just went charging in there against mine and Dilshads protests. You said you were going to make them answer you. Pay for what they'd done. You didn't know how you'd do it but you promised that the people of Kasauli would never see a day like that again.
Asad - (looked down) I had had enough. I just couldn't bury another friend. He was only 22 and he had his whole life ahead of him. He could have easily been saved, if they had enough medication but-
Malik - (nodded) you went in there to teach the doctor a lesson but-
Asad - ended up learning one myself.
Malik - Seeing the doctors and nurses sitting in the morgue amidst those 180 bodies, crying, grieving-
Asad - It shook me. They were more devastated then any of us and I absolutely hated it. I then had no one to blame, no one to turn to for help or force them to fix the situation. I was helpless and I hate being helpless-
Malik - (nodded) so you did what you always do. You came through for the people of Kasauli. and for those doctors and nurses who thought they had failed everyone. You may not have even noticed at that time but you not only saved the people of Kasauli, but you also saved those doctors and nurses because the feeling of failure is not an easy one to live with. You once again proved why it is all of us; Me, your mother, your sister, brother, (sighed) brothers (Asad's surprised eyes snapped up to his face) love and pride you so much. We know that in the wake of any trouble, You always come through. We can rely on you-
Asad - Uncle aap yeh sab-
Malik - (nodded) Unfortunately Asad, Kasauli is seeing a similar day again. You saved our Hospital that day by compensating for the funds the Government had recoiled from the Hospital. Saved those doctors, their dreams and their faith in themselves. But now I..I need you to do the same for my home. My dream and my faith in myself. They are taking our funds the same way Asad. They've been doing it for a while now but I thought I could manage. Turns out (shrugged) I can't. The reason these attacks happen and those responsible for it get away is because we can't do anything even if we wanted. Our force has been cut by half. Your accusations are 200% right Asad. We have disappointed our people time and time again. We've let thousands of innocents die, let families be ruined and let those responsible get away with it time and time again. But not because we wanted to, but because we had no choice. We did the best we could and it just wasn't enough. In the wake of growing crime, how do you expect us to retaliate when we're not fully equipped to do so?
Asad - Kabse chal raha hai yeh sab?
Malik - What difference does it make Asad? I didn't call you here for sympathy or to justify our poor performance because funding or not, it is our job to protect the people of this city and we failed to do so. But I don't want to continue failing Asad. I asked you here instead of home for the same reason. I didn't want your mother hearing. I-..I'm just, I'm embarrassed. You intervened that day and saved our hospital before any more innocent lives were lost without even a chance, a fight and I'm asking you to do the same. I just felt like, I could count on you to-
Asad - (held his uncles hand with slightly dampened eyes, But a determined look in his eyes nonetheless) Yes.
Malik - Ye-
Asad - Yes. Uncle, the only reason I asked you since when this has all been happening is because I knew you would be embarrassed and would've kept it from me even though (shook his head) you never need to be embarrassed before me uncle (looked down, his shame visible on his face) not after, after all that you've done for me. You have seen me in my darkest days, at my lowest. I was sinking, drowning and I couldn't see it. Not only did you see it but you also pulled me out from that darkness. Saved me before I drowned. All that I am today, I am because of you. All that I own today is yours uncle. Aapko poochne ki nahin hukam karne ki zaroorat hai aur aap jo chaho main aapke saamne hazir kar doonga. Yeh toh phir ek choti si rakam hai.
Malik - (laughed) Oh I don't know, wait till you hear the zeros-
Asad - It could be all the zeros in the world uncle, it still wouldn't be enough to repay what you did for me. (Malik smiled at him, his pride visible in his eyes and nodded putting his hand on top of their clasped ones)
Malik - Thank You beta. I knew I could count on you.
Asad - But I do have two conditions.
Malik - I knew that too (laughed) Boliye.
Asad - 1) You must understand one thing. I'm doing this for you, at a personal level. See I fund the hospital because I believe those doctors to be for real. They are competent and know what they are doing. You people on the other hand (shook his head) I stand by what I said. You're running a circus, with or without funds.
Malik - (rolled his eye's) and in answer to your second demand. Yes. It will remain our secret.
Asad - (looked surprised) I didn't even say anything yet.
Malik - You didn't have to.
Asad - (gave him a ghost of a smile) So, I'll see you at home for dinner then?
Malik - I guess so.
Asad - (stood up) I'll have my accountant call you, you can set up whatever payment method you find convenient and figure out all the smaller details as well.
Malik - Thank You Beta. (Stared at him with all the pride shining through in his eyes) I don't know what we or this town would've done without you.
Asad - You definitely wouldn't be having shawarma for lunch that's for sure (He winked at him as he placed a paper bag from the ground onto Malik's desk before walking out swiftly lest Malik embarrass him with more compliments or emotions and Malik just smiled shaking his head after him)

Haveli:

Anaya was sitting on the stairs, staring ahead with tears in her eavesdropping onto the conversation in the living room.
Javed - Par Agar Rashid ke kehne se woh maan jaati hai toh iss mein kya burai hai?
Razia - Agar aapko khud burai nahin dikh rahee toh main aapki koi madad nahin kar sakti phir! Rashid uske liye ek Paraya Mard hai, Woh uske bachon ka baap ho sakta hai par woh Hamari behen ka shahaur hai aur hum usse aisi badchalan aurat, Ek dayan ke paas nahin bhejeinge chahe kuch ho jaye!
Salma - Apni zubaan ko lagaam do Razia. Yeh mat bhoolo ke woh aurat ek waqt pe iss ghar ki bahu thi aur aaj bhi iss haveli ke waarison ki maan hai!
Shireen - Nahin Ammi. Iss haveli ke waaris ki maan MAIN hoon. (Razia smirked as the rest stared at her surprised at her courage for speaking up, the venom in her voice but they were also at a loss for an answer)
Maya - Toh aap log phir kya chahte hain? Ek toh aap log Zabardasti YEHI rishta karwane pe tule hue ho aur phir usse jorne ki koshish bhi nahin karna chahte. Aapne suna na ke Haseena bi ne kya kaha? Woh tab tak sagai nahin kareingi, jab tak Anaya ka lehnga na banke aaye. Dilshad ke haathon.
Razia - Humne suna ke Haseena ne kya kaha par shayad aapne bhi Rashid miyan ki tarha poori baat nahin suni. Bas Dilshad ka naam hi suna. Haan Haseena ne bola ke woh sirf tabhi sagayi karne ayegi jab lehnga Dilshad ke haan se banke ayega aur Dilshad ko mananana HAMARI Zimedari hai. HAMARI. Matlab ke hum sab ki. Usne ek baar bhi yeh zimedari kissi ek insaan ko nahin di, Haas taur par rashid ko toh bilkul nahin.
Rashid - (sighed deeply) Bhabi please samajhne ki koshish karein main Dilshad ko sabse kareebi se aur ache se jaanta hoon agar main koshish karoon toh-
Suleman - (lost in thought) Nahin Rashid. Razia shayad theek hi keh rahee hai (they all looked towards him truly bewildered. Did he just side with Razia? Haan yeh sach hai ke Dilshad ko hum sabse kareebi se tum hi jaante ho par iska matlab yeh bhi hai ke usse sabse zyaada takleef bhi tumhee ne di hai. Tum agar uske paas jaoge yeh bolne ke please meri beti ka lehnga bana do toh socho uspe kya beetegi? Baat bane ke bajaye bighad sakti hai. Woh pichle 25 saalon mein apne aur apne bachon pe beeti har takleef yaad karke inkaar bhi kar sakti hai. Issi liye behtar yehi hoga ke tum na jao. (Rashid just stared at him in disbelief. Beyond frustrated with them. Why couldn't they see reason? Without saying another word he got up and walked out of there as the argument heated up further. Anaya wiped her tears when she felt someone silently hug her and kiss her head. She looked up to see Azlan sitting on the step right above her and smile a sad but encouraging smile at her. He didn't say anything and at that point she didn't need him to. He wanted her to believe everything would be okay and she wanted to believe him. She held onto his protective arms and just closed her eyes. Feeling her self respect take blow after blow. First to live with the fact that she had to accept this relationship to be her only acceptable option if she wanted a marriage at all, secondly to live through all absurd hurdles that came up day after day. Be the cause of so much distress to everyone especially her father who had to face his past only to get rid of a burden like her.)

Asha's Cafe:

Sheila caught Zoya just in time as Zoya jumped getting startled by a gust of wind that flew outside and the open door led Zoya's hair to fly all of a sudden, scaring her, which nearly caused her to drop an entire pot of coffee on the ground. Sheila stared at her confusedly. Her eye's wild with worry as she held a slightly trembling and very pale and frightened Zoya. Nothing like the fearless and feisty Zoya she was starting to know and love.

Sheila - Zoya, are you sure you're okay? You're feeling perfectly okay? (Feeling her forehead)
Zoya - (took in a deep breath to calm her hyperactive nerves. Paranoid and afraid that Sameer would show up out of nowhere and try something, and what if she were unable to stop him. What if this time he got what he always wanted and what he set out to get in the first place) (closed her eyes) Yah I just-
Sheila - (shook her head) No. Okay you know what, you're done. Go home. You're done for the day.
Zoya - (her surprised eyes snapped open) What? No, my shift doesn't end for another 2 hours.
Sheila - Well it just ended, so go home. There's no point of you staying here when your not actually here. Go home, eat dinner, sleep peacefully and get some rest. I'll see you Monday. You sure you can get home okay or should I call-
Zoya - (rushed to answer immediately lest she call Dilshad..or worse Asad. That is the last thing she needed right now. More favours or a lecture or scolding session from Akdu) No, No I'll walk. The fresh air will help.
Sheila - You sure? (Zoya nodded) K then, See yah!
Zoya - Bye! (She went to the back and collected her knapsack, books, iPad and jacket before heading out)

She couldn't have been down two blocks on the usually deserted night streets of Kasauli when she felt a chill run down her spine causing her to stop in her tracks. Her whole body breaking into goosebumps and trembling. Her teeth clattering with fear as her eye's darted left and right in fear. She felt the hair at the back of her neck stand up and she spun around but found no one there. Allah Miyan. Only she knew the relief that washed over her in that second. She felt her heart pound in her chest and put a hand over it as she let out a staggering breath. taking small steps ahead.
Zoya - (shaky breath) Allah Miyan! I could've sworn someone was following me (she took a few steps forward when that feeling returned again and she spun around., looking around all four sides this time. Just to be extra cautious and use Zoya logic she looked up in the sky and rooftops too, but found no one. Again Zoya hugged herself tight and took hurried steps forward when then the trauma and shock from this mornings incident came crashing down on her again and the fear and paranoia got the better of her. Before she knew it, she had begun sprinting down the streets, the blocks of Kasauli. Desperate to reach home safe and sound. Praying to Allah Miyan to not let anything happen to her.

He stood on the rooftop of the building, dressed in all black as usual. His leather jacket on and his chains, similar to Zoya's, shining in his neck as he bent down at the edge of the rooftop, smoking his cigarette watching her run away. Away from him)

Khan Mansion - Living Room:

Dilshad - Yeh to bauhat hi acha kiya aapne Malik bhai ke aap khaane pe aa gaye. Main toh warna khud aapko phone karke bulane hi waali thi. Kitni baar bola hai maine aap ko ke raat ka khaana aap hamare saath hi khaaya kijiye, aap apne ghar pe akele khaate hain yeh mujhe bilkul bhi acha nahin lagta. Hamare ghar pe bhi sirf hum teen hi toh hote hain (stared at Asad with a very unhappy look) well actually hum do. (Asad rolled his eyes directly at her and her taunt)
Aisha - Do the, ab toh hum teen hain. Are you forgetting Zoy- (before she had even finished Zoya's name Asad had jumped in)
Asad - (irritated) How could anyone forget her? She's not one to let you forget so easily. Aur (looked to his watch) raat ke 8:30 baj rahe hain woh ab tak ghar nahin ayee..kahan hai woh? Aisha call her and ask (Malik and Aisha stared at him in bewilderment)
Dilshad - Aa jayegi Asad. She probably has a late class or no..(remembering) she-
Asad - (absent mindedly) no she's not at college. I brought her home with me in the afternoon..
Aisha - You, You what? (Asad's eyes widened as he stared at her and Malik, Dilshad's surprised faces, frustrated with himself for being unable to control his tongue)
Asad - Woh actually...
Malik - (smiled) Oh. So the girl sitting on the front seat of your sports car, that was Zoya? (Asad's ears reddened as Dilshad stared at him surprised and Aisha's mouth hung open)
Aisha - You let her sit in one of your sports cars!! Which are the most sacred things to you! You've never let ME sit in your sports car, you always chauffer me around in your dada aboo waali gaadis..
Dilshad - (pulling a sad face) tumne toh aaj tak apni maa ko bhi apni sports cars mein nahin bathaya
Asad - (stared at her with a baffled expression) Ammi-
Malik - Samjha karo na Dilshad Behen. There are rules for these things. Sports cars mein maa ko nahin..k- (before Malik could finish that sentence and they could continue with the teasing A horrified Asad intervened now scared by the truth behind those accusations, by what Malik may say next (afraid it may be true) and by his own impulsive choices. It was true. He never let anyone touch his sports cars because he was so possessive about them. They were his babies. his most prized possessions and yet he had let her get away with destroying multiple sports cars of his and now even let her sit in one)
Asad - Agar aap logon ki yeh fazool baatein hatam ho gaye hon, can you please call her and ask her where she is?
Malik - (looked at the time) Haan. Jokes aside I agree with Asad. It's not safe to be out at this time. Abhi kal raat ko hi..I don't know if you heard but Ayaan ke nightclub se- (Asad and Aisha's eyes snapped towards each other and then to Malik's face) wait, it's probably on the news right now (As Malik turned the TV on a still shaken and even more pale Zoya walked in. Out of breath from her jog home. She really didn't look well, but as always hid her pain, fear and worries behind her smile so no one would find out and, as she craved, worry for her)
Dilshad - (smiled lovingly at her) Look who's home.
Asad - (not looking at her) A bit early..no? (Zoya didn't even bother responding, much to Asad's surprise)
Malik - (smiled at her and winked) Hello beautiful.
Zoya - (laughed, besides her current state) Hell Uncle Handsome (Malik laughed at that much to Asad's annoyance)
Malik - Zoya, bauhat hi lambi umar hai tumhari. hum abhi tumhare baare mein hi baatein kar rahe the-
Zoya - Mere baare mein-
Asad - Hey Malik Uncle (looking at Zoya through the corner of his eye's) can you turn the volume up (Malik turned the volume on the TV up which was running news about some girl being kidnapped and Asad continued looking at Zoya through the corner of his eye's while Zoya read the news. Her face fast losing all the colour and warmth it had regained) so she was kidnapped from Rogue?
Malik - Yah. From that honey Singh concert that happened last night. Her poor parents, they didn't even know she was there. She had snuck out with her friends who didn't even realize she had gone missing. They only realized when her parents started showing up at everyone's houses asking about her this morning (shook his head). I felt horrible for them. The way her mother was crying and her poor father, he was falling apart. He's lived in Kasauli long enough to know how slim the chances of us finding her are. She would be lucky to still be alive. That is if they haven't sold her off for money, organs, prostitution (Zoya's body shuddered at those possibilities. Allah Miyan what kind of a place was this? Filled with so many monsters. She started remembering that girl being forced into that car outside Rogue last night. She shuddered again, feeling someone's intense and very angry gaze on her and she didn't have to look up to see who it was. She gulped nervously knowing Asad was glaring down at her as he stood from the sofa he was sitting on)
Asad - No Malik uncle. don't you know how important it is for some people to go see a Honey Singh concert. Against personal safety, against their PARENTS wishes or even direct ORDERS not to go.
Zoya - (narrowed her eyes at him. Not very happy with his attitude and treatment of her as if she were a child who constantly needed permission and protection to go out) and don't you know Malik Uncle, how impossible it is for some people to understand THEY CAN'T order people around to do as they please!
Asad - don't you know Malik Uncle it's impossible for some people to respect anyone's rules, traditions or values-
Zoya - Don't you know Uncle how hard it is for someone to STOP judging others-
Asad - Don't you know, some people just don't know their limits. Always overstepping lines..
Zoya - and let me guess your problem with that is the lines aren't straight enough and you can't help your OCD (She touched a nerve, especially as the bewildered expressions of Dilshad, Aisha and Malik soon turned in to snickers at Zoya's jibe about his OCD, immediately riling Asad up. A muscle jumping dangerously in his jaw as he controlled his anger by clenching his fists. An angry shudder ran through him)
Asad - You're impossible (saying so, he stalked out of there and Zoya glared behind his back)
Zoya - You are impossible too! (Saying so she also stalked away to her own room. Making Dilshad, Aisha and Malik look back to each other with amused smiles on their faces)
Dilshad - I think that's the most immaturity Asad has ever shown. Even from when he was a child
Aisha - (laughed) even then he used to act like hum sab ka baap (Dilshad nodded)
Dilshad - Well, in that case Zoya ne toh na mumkin ko mumkin kar diya..
Malik - (smiled staring after them both) Waise Dilshad Behen mujhe to lagta hai ke Asad ki zindagi mein bilkul aisi hi ek ladki aani chahiye, jiske andar uske saamne khare hone ki taakat ho. (Dilshad looked in the direction he was with a small smile on her face as she pondered over his words)

A little while Later -
Aisha, Dilshad Zoya walked Malik to the front door..
Zoya - Par Uncle maine jaan boojke thora hi apni aur Aapi ki safety jeapordy mein daali mujhe thori hi pata tha ke iss shehr mein concert pe jaana itna dangerous ho sakta hai.
Malik - (smiled) If you're living with Asad I'm sure he must have warned you at least 91736119 times and Forbid you from going.
Zoya - (pouted, like a child being told off for his mistake) Par aap toh Zille Ilahi ko- (Malik burst out laughing just hearing the name and Asad who was about to walk into the foyer stopped in the hallway hearing his absurd nickname. Taking a deep breath to control his mounting anger) unhe har baat se problem hai. Yeh yahan kyun rakha hai woh wahan kyun rakha hai yeh aise kyun hai woh waise kyun hai aise mat karo wahan mat jao yeh mat pehno aise mat karo..bas..chalta phirta question mark! Allah Miyan woh bechari toh wahan sirf honey ko dekhne-
Malik- (narrowed his eye's) wait a minute. 4 ladke, black gaari. Tumhe..tumhe yeh sab kaise pata? Yeh toh sab details humne bahar kissi ko nahin batayee-
Zoya - (sighed) Jab hum Zile-Illahi ke dar se ghar aa rahe the. I saw 4 guys push this girl into a black car. I don't know much but maybe those are the same people.
Malik - Did you see anything else? Anything that could help us with finding her. Come on Zoya think hard. Anything could be relevant. Yeh sab toh humme club ke security tapes se dikh gaya but..kissi ka chehra-
Zoya - (gave him an apologetic smile) No. I didn't see anything else. They had their backs to me. Gaari ka number bhi nahin dikha..
Malik - Well (sighed) We're just thankful you and Aisha are okay. Zoya, please, I am only saying this because I am concerned for your safety as much as I am of Aisha's. If Asad tells you not to go somewhere try not to go. It's a dangerous city and if he tried to stop you it was for your own betterment (He smiled at Zoya as her eyes returned with that feisty look in them and she crossed her arms stubbornly, just refusing to accept her mistake and that he was right due to her ego) I think you owe him an apology. God forbid, that girl could just have easily been you or Aisha.
Zoya- (looked towards him with sad, empathic eye's) woh ladki bach to jayegi na Malik Uncle? (Malik just gave her a sad smile)
Malik - Let's hope. Let's hope the Son of Kasauli is there to save the day as always.
Zoya - (narrowed her eye's) The son of Kasauli? Woh kaun hai?
Asad - (walked in, calmly..but the way his eyes looked to Zoya, one could doubt if his nerves really were that calm) Malik Uncle, you're still here?
Malik - You sound disappointed.
Asad - I am. Come on, leave already.
Zoya - (refrained from rolling her eye's at him) Aap kuch bol rahe the, about the son of Kasauli..
Asad - (glared at him) I don't have time for your latest childish crush. Go Google him. I have to talk to Uncle about something (Zoya narrowed her eye's at him as he walked out with Malik and she muttered under her breath)
Zoya - Jahanpanah.

Outside -

Malik - (raised an eyebrow at him) that was rude.
Asad - Yah I don't care. Listen I uh, I uh wanted to talk to you about someone (Malik nodded) an inspector in your force..(Malik raised a curious eyebrow) Feroz Ansari (An almost understanding, exasperated look casted on Malik's face) who is he?
Malik - A senior officer in our force. Why? Did you have a run in with him?
Asad - You're saying that like it's nothing unusual. Like you've expected it to happen.
Malik - No it's just I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Let's just say he's not the most trustworthy and honourable inspector in our force. He doesn't do things by the book.
Asad - And yet you haven't fired him? I don't understand, if the government wants to cut the force why not get rid of the corrupt ones first?
Malik - Because the corrupt ones are puppets who work for the government. Same with Feroz. Don't take him lightly Asad, he has big connections. (looked to him confusedly) But why are you asking? (Asad shook his head)
Asad - Just had a small run in with him at the college, nothing to worry about..
Malik - I don't know about that. If it's Feroz it's definitely something. He's not one to relent easily. Are you sure it was nothing because if he tried to bribe you or say-
Asad - (shook his head) No uncle, it was nothing. Trust me I handled him just fine..
Malik - Sure? (Asad nodded) Okay then. (pulled him in for a hug and Asad hugged him back tightly) Good night.
Asad - Drive safe.
Malik - (laughed) Learn to listen to your own advice (Asad again rolled his eyes getting the door for Malik) Aww, Such a gentlemen.
Asad - (bit back a smile) Bye Uncle..

Haveli:

Rashid was standing on the grand terrace of his Haveli looking at the mountains in the far distance to where their property stretched and the lake flowing in between, when he felt someone come up beside him. He didn't need to look up to see who it was.
Suleman - (cast a glance in his direction before looking back at the mountains) Naraaz ho. Ke maine tumhe Dilshad se milne se mana kiya.
Rashid - (Shook his head) Sharminda hoon. Sharminda hoon ke maine kissi aurat ko itna dard diya. Himmat nahin hai. Jaon bhi toh kis mun se? Aur woh. Aaj woh itni qabil hai, ke hum, iss shehr ke badshaah iss shehr ke shehzaade, usske saamne jaake bheeg maang rahe hain apni beti ki khushiyon ki. Uske woh sapne jo maine torne mein koi kasar nahin chori, woh poore ho gaye aur poore uske bete ne kiye. Uss bete ne jisko humne ek saath lakhon croron baar haath utha ke Khuda se maanga. Humare pyaar ki nishani. Hamara, iss shehr ka shehzada. Hamara woh beta jisse main ek baar bhi apne in haathon mein (picking up his hands and staring at them) na utha saka. Gale se na laga saka. Woh beta jiske liye main mar chuka hoon (Suleman sighed. Closing his eyes painfully as Asad's words echoed in his own ears. He knew Rashid would be effected by it even if he tried his best to hide it or deny it) Sharminda hoon ke aaj meri beti ki sagai mein meri in sab kamzooriyon ki wajah se, ghalatiyon ki wajah se ek ke baad ek rukawatein, mushkilein aa rahee hain. Sab meri badkismati ki wajah se. Shayad Asad sahee kehta hai. Shayad mujhe pehle hi mar jaana chahiye-
Suleman - RASHID aisa nahin kehte-
Rashid - Na kehne se haqeeqat badal nahin jaati..
Suleman - Aur aise bolne se masle hal nahin, chipaye jaate hain. Unse bhaaga jaata hai. Aur yeh asal kamzoor logon ki nishani hoti hai. Tum agar apni galatiyon pe pachtate ho, toh khud pe taras khaane ke bajaye apni ghalatiyan sudharo. Tum kehte ho ke tum kamzor ho. Toh usko badlo. Asad aur Dilshad se apna rishta phir se banao. Unse maafi maango. Raasta lamba hai par na numkin nahin hai. Abhi mauka hai.
Rashid - Nahin Abbu (closed his eyes, shuddering as Asad's words ran in his ears again) Ab bauhat der ho chuki hai. Aapne dekha nahin Asad toh hamari shakal nahin dekhna chahta, humse baat nahin karna chahta. He's disgusted by us aur aap- aap wahan the aur phir bhi yeh keh rahe hain. Woh kabhi humme maaf nahin karega aur usse poora haq hai na karne ka.
Suleman- Haan. Usse haq hai, naraaz rehne ka. Maaf na karne ka. Par tum ek baat bhool rahe ho. Ek beta, aakhir kab tak apne baap se naraaz reh sakta hai. Woh tumhara khoon hai. Tumhara beta hai. Hamara beta hai. Iss ghar ka chota beta. Iss shehr ka chota shehzada. Dooriyan kitni bhi bar jayen, Khoon ki takat hamesha zyaada hoti hai. Iss khoon ki takat usse ek din tumhe maaf karne pe majboor kar degi beta. Tum koshish toh karo. Kyunki agar tum koshish na karo toh tum sahi maayeno mein kamzor hoge aur iss baat ka pachtava tumhe saari zindagi rahega.

Early the Next Morning:

Zoya raised her hand in prayer, sitting on the prayer mat and began praying to her Allah.

"Allah Miyan, aaj tak meri zindagi mein jo hua maine usse qubool kiya. Bina koi shikayat kiye bina aapse koi savaal kiye. Aapka hukam aapki marzi samajh ke. Aapki raza mein khush rahee hoon. Aapne jitna diya, uske liye shukoor guzaar hoon aur jo nahin diya uspe pachatayee nahin hoon, yeh maan ke ke aapne jo socha jo kiya ussi mein meri behtari hai. Ek maan apne bache ke liye kabhi bura nahin soch sakti aur aap toh sagi maan se bar kar pyaar karte hain apne bandon ko. Toh aap mere liye kabhi bura nahin soch sakte. Aapne mujhe mere maan baap nahin diye, maine qubool kiya. Ek family deke bhi hamesha ek bahar waali hone ka ehsaas diya, maine phir bhi qubool kiya. Logon ne hamesha mujh par, meE khoon par, maan baap par, wujood par mere khandaani na hone par savaal uthaye jinka mere paas koi javaab nahin tha. Maine qubool kiya. Sameer ne mere saath jo kiya maine samjhota kar liya usse. Faizan (her voice cracked) Bhai ko, apne ek farishte ko aapne apne paas waapis bula liya, mujhse door kar diya unhe, meri aapi ki khushiyan cheen lin par maine tab bhi kuch nahin kaha. Koi shikayat nahin ki aur kuch nahin maanga. Par Allah Miyan main ab maang rahee hoon aapse. Sukoon, aur himmat. Allah Miyan bina apne past ko jaane apne aur logon ke savalon ke javaab jaane main nahin reh sakti. (pulled at her hair, with tears fast running down her face) Allah miyan yeh savaal, mujhe paagal kar deinge. I need to know. Need to know where I belong. Who I belong to. Kiska khoon meri ragon mein daur raha hai. Main kiski beti hoon. I'm tired Allah Miyan. I'm so tired. Tired of pretending nothing bothers me. Tired of pretending I'm okay. Because I'm not. I want a family Allah Miyan. People I can call as my own. A house I can claim as my own without a shadow of fear over my heart that one day I may have to leave it. That someday someone will question my relation to that house and those people and I will have no answer. I'm tired of people telling me I have bad blood, that I'm not a good person. I don't deserve respect or honour because I was someone's unclaimed child. I'm not pure enough because I don't know who my parents are or who my family is. I need to find my father and find an answer to my every question. Find my home. My permanent home. I'm tired of being thrown at one doorstep out of mercy to another. I want my family and you have to give it to me Allah Miyan. You have to help me find him and until I do you need to take care of all the problems that can stop me from finding him. Problems like Sameer. You need to send down an angel of yours to protect me from him and his disgusting intentions Allah Miyan. You have to send me an angel like you sent to the city of Kasauli. The Son of Kasauli (her eye's flickered to her iPad and she picked it up looking at tab after tab she had opened about the son of Kasauli and S. She stared at them side by side reading the headlines and staring at the pictures on various articles.)

"Son of Kasauli saves Kasauli from burning at the hands of R.A" "Who is the son of Kasauli?" "People claim to find mysterious money appearing at their doorsteps every week. Is it possible the son of Kasauli has returned?" "Where is the Son of Kasauli and why is he hiding" "Son of Kasauli, Is he good or bad" and then she skimmed through the articles of "S and the brotherhood.

"The brotherhood saves a truckload of 10 girls from being smuggled out of town" "The brotherhood saves Sunday church goers as a mass fire breaks out during the service" and then the last article "S responsible for the death of 3"

Zoya stared hard at the picture of the little boy whom she had seen 2 goons give a packet of drugs to in her initial days in the city and her face paled.

Zoya - yeh Kaun log hain Allah Miyan (clutched at the chains in her neck) Saari raat inke baare mein par kar bhi andaaza nahin hoya ke yeh kaun ho sakta hai aur yeh kya chahta hai (Shook her head as she stared outside her window at the grey gloomy weather and slight drizzle) Allah Miyan, aap meri madad kijiye and I promise main hamesha ki tarha badle mein aapke logon ki madad kardoongi. Aap mere liye ek farishta bhejiye aur main..(stared at her Ipad) Aap ke logon ke kiye, Kasauli ke logon ke liye ek farishta sabit hoongi. Please Allah Miyan. You have to help me. You're All I have. Mere sukh, dukh, dard sabhi mein ek aap hi mere saath ho. Please iss baar bhi meri madad kijiyega aur meri hifazat bhi (She got up and opened the French doors in her room which lead out into the veranda and backyard. She walked out into the covered veranda, oblivious to her surroundings as always. And finally a real genuine smile graced her face upon seeing the rain. Rain always made her super happy. Why wouldn't it? It was Allahs blessing after all. She finally felt happy after what felt like ages. Taking in a deep breath she inhaled the smell of wet grounds after rain with a serene smile on her face as she put out her hand catching the light drizzle. Unaware of what her smile, her small innocent actions and just her overall presence was doing to Asad's heart. She had been so preoccupied with her thoughts and then her happiness over the morning showers that she had missed sight of Asad standing by one of the pillars in the veranda, nearby where she was standing, smoking a cigarette and watching her antics. Her attire taking him by surprise. Pleasant surprise. She looked so radiantly beautiful in that simple white shalwar kameez. So simple, so young, so innocent and so absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Despite not having slept a wink all night and her eye's being red with bags beneath them she still looked ethereally beautiful to him. The most beautiful girl in the world. She pulled at his heart like no one else had managed to. From the time she had walked out and his eyes had settled on her, he had been rendered incapable of looking away. His heart beats going a mile per minute as he saw her wet strands stick to her face. He found his fingers itching to run through her wet locks, or stroke and kiss her face like her tresses were at the moment. The longing in his eyes, stronger than ever. That smile playing with his heart, his sanity. Testing his self control. It was just so pure and so beautiful. He found it to be so endearing how she could find so much joy and happiness, smile so bright just by something as small, simple and mundane as a light drizzle. It was one of the things that captivated him the most about her. Her simplicity in every form of life. Having lost himself and his senses to her so easily he didn't even realize when his cigarette burnt his finger causing him to let out a small hiss. That hiss finally broke Zoya out of her little trance and she turned to look at him, completely taken aback. Her surprise visible on her face. Yes the fact that he was there the whole time probably watching her antics was startling for her but what surprised her more than that was the way he looked even at 6:30 in the morning. Like a Greek God. His hair tousled and unkempt, standing there in a white t-shirt and sweats. Allah Miyan. Were there no limits to this man and his sexiness? She watched as he looked away, feeling her gaze on him for a change, causing him to burn with awareness and his ears turn red. He avoided looking at her as he tossed his cigarette and immediately put another one between his teeth which made her narrow her eye's at him disappointedly and click her tongue in disapproval just as he was about to light it. Causing his gaze to go flying back to her face. He nearly dropped the cigarette from his mouth and grasped the railing beside him as his hear skipped a beat at the sight of her staring at his mouth, biting her lip even if she was doing it subconsciously. She didn't know the mayhem her innocent little action was playing with his heart)
(Zoya looked up at him and her innocent eye's, the way they looked at him and the way she bit her lip like that wanting to say something but refraining herself had him losing his heart to her. Fast evident by the considerable softening of his eyes and the way they looked at her, as if she was the single most desired thing in his life. The most beautiful and the most forbidden. Finally unable to control herself she spoke and said what she had wanted to all along)
Zoya - You shouldn't smoke so much you know, you're purposely denying a blessing, Allah Miyan has given you. The blessing of life. Maine online para tha ke one cigarette takes away approximately 7 minutes from your life. That's 7 minutes less from the happiness and love you can share with others and 7 minutes more of grief and pain you are causing someone. Someone who is afraid to lose you. Like your Ammi. (Asad's surprised eyes snapped to her face) I know that quitting isn't easy and you can't just quit all at once so I have a mathematical solution for you (smiled at him) I also read online that smiling and being happy can prolong life. Now, if you do the math. 7 minutes less you get to be alive by one cigarette will be balanced out by 7 minutes more you can live just by smiling a bit. So if you want to smoke a cigarette, just make sure to smile for ATLEAST 7 minutes a day Mr. Khan. Aap ko toh iss formula ki BAUHAT zaroorat hai. (Shook her head) this formula can help you live for 7 more minutes (giggled) 7 minutes you can spend playing 7 minutes in heaven with a beautiful girl.
Asad - Let me guess, that beautiful girl would be you (Zoya's eyes snapped towards his face in pure shock only to see Asad looking just as shocked as her. His mind immediately conjuring an image of the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and the words escaping his mouth before he could think straight. Both their cheeks reddened at the same time. Zoya's also over the fact of how hoarse and deep his voice was so early in the morning, and that voice calling her beautiful...Allah Miyan!)
Zoya - Allah Miyan! Did you just call me beautiful!
Asad - Don't flatter yourself. The only thing I would ever call you is a musibat. And you're one to talk, give lectures on life when you knowingly more your life in danger even when others tell you NOT to. (Zoya remembered last night and Malik telling her about the kidnapping, how right Asad was and how she should apologize to him. She pouted and was about to apologize when instead she saw him open his mouth a little and exhale exaggeratedly even though his face remained indifferent as ever. Letting rings of smoke into the air staring pointedly at her making his point known. So much for Zoya's lecture. Zoya narrowed her eye's dangerously at him as he began walking away from her! Seriously! The audacity of this man)

A little while later -

Asad was showered and dressed in jeans and a dark grey sweater going out the front door when Aisha came running down the stairs.
Aisha - Hey have you seen Zoya?
Asad - (immediately irritated again) Unfortunately this morning..
Aisha - (narrowed her eye's) what happened this morning?
Asad - (sighed in defeat over Zoya and her brain) I don't even know, she was going on and on about 7 minutes (Aisha stared at him weirdly) long story. Don't worry about it too much, you know she's a little (Signalled that she was crazy and Aisha nodded understandingly. That being a sufficient explanation to anything and everything Zoya said and did) You look nice where you going..work? (Aisha nodded smiling a little too much) I see that you seem to be enjoying your job.
Aisha - Yes I am! (Asad smiled, his adoration for her shining in his eyes)
Asad - I'm so happy for you. Allah Knows you deserve this and so much more. You deserve to be happy and to continue smiling just as much (leaned forward and kissed her forehead just as Zoya came out into the foyer and stopped seeing their interaction. As Asad pulled away he gave Zoya a small glance and then looked away both making faces at the same time. Zoya then began narrowing her eye's as she saw him pull out a pack of cigarettes and exaggeratedly slowly proceeded to pull one out and place it between his teeth, finding a lighter as he continued staring in Zoya's direction) Do you need a ride Aapi?
Aisha - No, I have an hour to spare so I'll go with the driver (Asad nodded as he lit his cigarette before stepping backwards, his eye's right on Zoya, barely managing to keep his smile in check seeing Zoya breathing fire. Her eye's furious and dangerously narrowed, almost like she would pop a nerve because she knew he was taunting her lecture from this morning)
Zoya - ALLAH MIYAN..WHY HE IS SO--ARGGHH!! (Aisha stared between them both and then shook her head giving up on trying to understand them)
Aisha - Where do you think your going Missy?
Zoya - (still staring furiously after Asad) Going to brunch with Aahil Bhai and Ayaan the bandar. (Finally looked at Aisha up and down. She raised an eyebrow at her) but forget me, you're the one who seems to have plans. Where you going to looking like that?
Aisha - I'm going to work.
Zoya - WORK? Aren't you a little overdressed for work? (Seeing Aisha all dolled up in a red Anarkali, heels, makeup and jewelry)
Aisha - (rolled her eye's) Zoya. Just because you believe in living life in your jeans and sneakers doesn't mean we all do. Make sure you're back here in time (Zoya stared at her confusedly) please tell me you haven't forgotten you need to help find an excuse to smuggle me out for Aahil's party so Asad doesn't find out (Zoya's face fell as she remembered) OMG you forgot Z-
Zoya - No Aapi. I didn't forget. I just thought, maybe after what happened last time with the concert that you may not want to risk upsetting Mr. Khan and decide not to go.
Aisha - That's different. I have to go to this. Aahil invited me so sweetly, how could I say no to him. Besides, this is out of Kasauli. No danger. Asad ko pata bhi nahin chalega! He's even picking me up himself (Zoya's surprised eyes shot up to her face and she was surprised to see the way Aisha's eyes were shining. Almost dream like. The blush on her face and the way she smiled when saying Aahil's name causing Zoya's heart to sink to her stomach) So please, Zoya you promised! Say you'll help me Please! Please! Please! (Zoya just gave her a small smile seeing the hopeful look in her eye's. How could she say no?)
Zoya - Of course! (Aisha let out a happy squeal and hugged her tight)
Aisha - Thank You! You're the best! (Zoya however was just worried. This was NOT good)

Asha's Cafe:

Zoya stood up and hugged a smiling Aahil who had walked in. The entire cafe was empty apart from these two.

Aahil - I must say, as proud a I was when I heard you got yourself a job here. Working for Dilshad Aunty, I'm also happy that you chose to work here. Dilshad Aunty trusts you enough to give you a key and so it gives us a place to meet and hang out in the city without Daadi throwing a ruckus that someone will see us and raise questions about our relation to you or more yet she herself might see us and throw a ruckus that we broke our promise to her of staying away from you (shook his head)
Zoya - (stared at him intently) Would you?
Aahil - (stared at her confused) Would I what?
Zoya - Would you have stayed away like I promised her I would and had decided to honour my promise completely. Not sneak around town and meet up.
Aahil - What? That's ridiculous. Of course not. You're my sister. I love you. I could never stay away from you. You know that about me Zoya. I can't stay away from the people I love.
Zoya - and Aisha? Can you stay away from her?
Aahil - (narrowed his eyes at her) and what exactly is that supposed to mean Zoya?
Zoya - It means exactly what you think it does. Don't think you have me fooled for even a second Bhai. Don't think I missed the loving and longing glances you cast at her at the wedding, the slips of your tongue, the desire of your heart. Don't think I missed it for a second.
Aahil - (laughed) this should be interesting. What is it that you didn't miss? Or well, you think you didn't miss?
Zoya - Bhai I'm dead serious. I know you feel something for Aisha-
Aahil - What?!! That's ridiculous Zoya. I'm getting engaged-
Zoya - EXACTLY BHAI! You're getting engaged. To someone that is NOT Aisha! And I haven't heard you even talking about her, let alone smiling the way you seem to smile when talking about Aisha Aapi. I've never seen you make an effort to introduce her to any of us or make her a part of your life Bhai..(sighed) is she even coming for your party today? (Aahil looked down, frustrated and angry at how things changed suddenly)
Aahil - No. I invited her but her family said they don't want her to go out with me till after the wedding.
Zoya - So you decided to take Aisha instead?
Aahil - (angry now) SO? She's my friend. My colleague. We're kind of family. Why can't I take her?
Zoya - You most certainly can Bhai. But if what you're saying is true, if she is really just a 'friend' and you are sure and absolutely serious about going ahead with this engagement, then please, show us your serious. Stop leading Aisha on Bhai, because right now your sending her the wrong signals. (Aahil stared at her surprised and unknowingly a little happily too. Which made Zoya smile a sad, bittersweet smile. Even if he didn't know it himself he sure as hell was falling in love with Aisha)
Aahil - She said that to you?
Zoya - She didn't have to.
Aahil - I-.I- .(Zoya put a hand over his)
Zoya - I'm not blaming you or accusing you Bhai. I'm saying this out of love and concern. I just want you to be happy. If that's with your current fianc, great. If not, If it's Aisha that's the one, make sure you realize and do something about it before its too late. Because it won't just be you or Aisha that'll be hurt. It's a matter of 2 whole families and 3 hearts. (Aahil pondered over what she said for a few seconds before his mind began firing a million questions as did his heart, confusing him and frustrating him. So he chose to forget about the debate for now and think on it later with a more relaxed mind. Instead he smiled at Zoya)
Aahil - I didn't know you to be so mature and sensible Pari. Now forget about me and my heart you tell me what you guy's serve here that's good.
Zoya - Hey! I'll have you know Mr. we serve the best quality food at the best prices and best service over town. Everything on the menu is a winner.
Aahil - (raised an eyebrow at her) already changing loyalties are we? What're the khans feeding you? (Shook his head) No but seriously, it was your idea to have brunch here. Tell me what I should get?
Zoya - Get the most expensive item on the menu and get 2 of them.
Aahil - (laughed) Why? Is Dilshad Aunty putting extra 0's on your Paycheck for being cute?
Zoya - No, but I think she should (Aahil laughed) it's actually because (smiled devilishly and put a credit card on the table. Aahil stared from the card to her face with wide eye's)
Aahil - Ayaan's credit card? How on earth did you get your hands on that?
Zoya - (shrugged) are you kidding me? I swiped it on Monday when he dropped me off to college and the buffoon still doesn't know.
Aahil - (laughed) Good one! (They hi5d laughing) How many times have you swiped it?
Zoya - Ooh, a few dozen. (They laughed again)
Aahil - You mind lending that to me for a day? I'm thinking of getting myself a new watch.
Zoya - Sure!
Aahil - Where is the idiot anyways? He told me he'd meet us here an hour ago. (Zoya looked over to the door as it opened and saw a still very tired and sleepy looking Ayaan walk in. In his pajamas. Aahil and Zoya shook their heads)
Ayaan - (Acknowledging their presence) Churail. Sup man? (He plopped down, yawning) this time I let you talk me into this (slapped Zoya's head) but next time we are not meeting for any meal that doesn't spell Dinner. You hear me! Now show me this menu and you go get started on the meals!
Zoya - Excuse me! The cook will be in in 10 minutes! He'll be making the meals and don't (slapped his head too) don't order me around. (Looked to Aahil) I'm going to go start on the coffee.
Ayaan - None for me. I don't trust anything you make. Next thing I know she's put pepper in it instead of coffee beans.
Zoya - HA-HA! I wasn't OFFERING YOU Anyways! (She glared at him shoving him so he nearly fell off his chair before walking away to the counter and Ayaan went back to his menu)
Ayaan - By the way Churail! I want my credit card back. (Aahil and Zoya stared at each other in surprise while Ayaan calmly continued reading the menu. He actually noticed it missing?)

Asad's Bungalow:

Asad was sitting with Pari in his lap while she coloured in her colouring book. Making sure to stay IN the lines.
Asad - But why always batman? I could draw you any other superhero too to colour. Why do you alway's want me to draw you a batman?
Pari - Because Batman is MY superhero.
Asad - (chuckled lightly) Your superhero? How's that my Pari?
Pari - You're batman and you're MY superhero. (Asad smiled at her)
Asad - If I'm your superhero then you have to be my strength. My power. You must make me strong enough to be your superhero.
Pari - By being your robin?
Asad - Yes by being my robin. But also by taking care of yourself for me. Staying healthy. Eating your food, eating your medicines.
Pari - (smiled at him innocently) oh and like brushing my teeth?
Asad - Yes, most importantly brushing your teeth. (Hugged her tightly, putting his head on her shoulder) You need to stay with me for me to stay strong.
Pari - (giggled) Ow Chachoo. You're heavy. You're squashing me.
Asad - Oh, and what about when you squash me with your hugs? I don't complain then do I?
Pari - No, but you're big and I'm small.
Asad - Hmm maybe then instead of squashing you I should just (he began tickling her and she began giggling and laughing like no tomorrow, making Asad's eyes twinkle with happiness, with his love for her and smile bright at her in the process. In all that fun, Pari coloured out of line and the two immediately sobered up. Their eye's snapping to the page with the same expression. Wide eye's, shocked and in pain)
Asad & Pari: Oh. (They looked to each other and then back at the paper but before they could figure out a way to fix that blunder they heard someone clear their throat exaggeratedly and saw Azlan standing in the doorway. Not looking so happy with their rapport and laughter. He frowned at Asad and Asad just avoided looking at him altogether, lest they get in a fight again)
Pari - Hi Papa! (She waved at him with a small smile, breaking his heart before she went back to her colours and Azlan turned his attention to Asad) Can I talk to you? (Both Pari and Asad looked to him) Not you Pari. You. (Glared at Asad and ignored the annoyed look Asad was giving him. Not at all appreciative of the attitude he was receiving from Azlan) NOW. (Saying so he walked out and an irritated Asad put Pari down and walked out behind him as well, to the backyard where Farida Bi was just meeting Azlan)
Asad - I should get going.
Azlan - (not looking at him. His anger for Asad clear in his tone) You should. But you can't. Feroze followed me half way here. I don't want him to see you anywhere near this area. If he saw me coming close to the slums and you leaving it'll just feed into his beliefs about us sowait it out.
Asad - (Also not looking at him) Feroz Ansari. (Shook his head) Malik Uncle told me that he's quite corrupt and is known for harassing people and going against the book. I don't think he'll stop at anything to get what he want's.
Azlan - (ran a hand through his hair) I just can't deal with this bullshit anymore. I swear it's like one problem doesn't end and another starts. Ek taraf yeh inspector aur doosri taraf aapi ka lehnga. I don't understand how difficult forming one alliance can be.
Asad - Not difficult for all. just you people. Probably shouldn't have screwed up so much eh. That's the thing about the past Prince Khan. It always comes to haunt you.
Azlan - (stared at him incredulously) Are you enjoying this? Our plight? Our misery? You probably told your mother to-
Asad - (narrowed his eyes at him) Causing people to suffer and then sitting back to enjoy is your people's forte NOT mine. And as far as my mother is concerned, she doesn't owe you and your god damned family ANYTHING. She is not obliged in any way to make that damn lehnga for you and Allah Knows she would be right NOT to make it. But NO, I DIDN'T TELL HER because I don't have it in me to be as heartless as the people of the Haveli. And maybe for a change you should stop suspecting everyone to be just as selfish as you are. You should come out of your long list of family screw ups and think about your own screw ups. Like the 4 year old daughter of yours who is expected to start school soon and once again because of you and your family may not be able to unless we can find some way to HIDE the fact that SHE is YOUR daughter (shook his head at him) Just like we had to do every year thanks to YOUR father (Azlan and Farida Bi exchanged worried looks before Azlan glared at him again. As upset about Asad's past as he may be but he was still angry at him and his constant taunts and digs didn't help with that anger)
Azlan - Before that we need to decide where we're going to take her for her surgery.
Asad - (snapped. As if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Even though the way his face blanched told the story of how worried and scared he was) What's there to worry about? I've talked to one of the best cardiac surgeons in London, he'll let us know the earliest opening he has and we'll take her there. Get her the best treatment possible and then she'll be right back here going to school. Which is why you need to get your head out of your father's screw ups and start worrying about your own! (Saying so he stormed out of there. Not even saying bye to Pari while Azlan glared after him and Farida Bi looked worried at Asad's denial and usually emotionally challenged ways of dealing with his fear and pain. Fear over Pari's condition)
Azlan - (muttered) Asshole.
