ASYA/KaBhi OS: I see you

"What are you laughing at?" Amaya shouted across the garden, she watched as her friend danced around the trees. She leaned back against her chair and observed the way her delicate hands touched the blooming flowers. To everyone, this would seem totally normal. But for someone like Zoya, it meant so much more. This was the way she communicated to the world, through her touch.

"Ammi used to say I have a beautiful laugh whatever that means... I want to hear how my own laugh sounds" Zoya threw her head back, the morning sun shone down at her wrapping her with its warmth. She sighed tilting her cheek against her shoulder before slowly making her way back. She allowed her hand to trail over the oak tree before going over the roses... the lillies... sunflowers... she turned to her right and reached for the apple tree.

"You are crazy Zoya." Amaya got up from her seat reaching her hand out towards her friend; she smiled watching both of her hands sway in front of her before going over the tips of her fingers.

"I know I am. Ammi said that too." Zoya replied with a smile. Amaya pulled her into an embrace.

"Do you miss her?" Amaya asked her.

"Every day" Zoya sighed, "There isn't a moment that I don't think about her. She is my mother after all." She walked over towards the couch and grabbed her bag.

"Do you want me to grab your-"

"Nope not today. Safrina will drop me off" Zoya cut her off. She heard Amaya sigh heavily. "I'll be fine. Do not worry." Her right shoulder felt heavy, she reached for her cheek and stroked it.

"I feel like a cat." Amaya snorted with a chuckle, "You be careful today. Keep your phone on you at all times."

"Stop worrying. I am not new at this." Zoya grumbled.

"I know but your near death experience last week says otherwise. Anyways, I'll walk you to work today." Amaya entwined her hand with Zoya's and lead her towards the front gate feeling satisfied that Zoya didn't put up a tantrum for her act. She knew Zoya hated it when people treated her differently even after all these years. Amaya taking care of her should make her realise that the care she receives from her friends will have to be accepted without questions.

"Good morning Mrs Singh" Zoya raised her voice to greet the woman snipping away in her garden.

"Good morning sweetheart. Have a great day." The elderly lady looked up from her plants and smiled watching Zoya walk past her house. "Tell Safrina I said Hi."

"I will do Mrs Singh, you have a great day too." Zoya giggled hearing Amaya make weird noises next to her. "Grow up" Zoya tapped her head to scold her.

"You are too nice for your own good." Amaya told her stopping near the lamppost.

"Not here, let's cross at the end of the road." Zoya tugged her hand,

"Oops, sorry." Amaya bit her tongue.

"And someone has to be nice when you're all bitter" Zoya pulled Amaya's cheeks.

"I am not bitter" She snorted. "It's just that you're surrounded by flowers all day and I am surrounded by ugly two faced co-workers. Can you blame me for hating people?" Zoya burst out laughing at her justification.

"When is the next fight?" Ayaan asked joining his friend. He leapt up on the bridge wall and threw his legs over. He spat into the air and then watched his spit reach the water below him.

"Does my face tell you that I am up for another fight yet?" Asad pointed to his bruised face.

"Sorry brother. But you kicked his ass and handed it to him last night." Ayaan praised hitting his back. Asad grunted from the pain on his shoulders but Ayaan carried on patting his back.

"I'm tired of this shit. This underground fighting, Han's barking, this stuff... I want free of it." Asad raked his hair thoughtfully.

"You've been doing this since you were fifteen Asad. What's brought this on?" Dred tossed rocks into the river below him swaying his legs back and forth.

"I'm just tired of being told what to do. I just want to do things on my own terms. I'm tired of explaining these marks to Grace. All these illegal dealings and Han. I want to be free of him." Asad closed his eyes.

"You look beaten bro. If that is what you want then pick up your ass and do something about it. Stop acting like a girl about it." Dred told him.

"And I agree, Han has a huge stick up his ass. I hate that guy with a passion." Ayaan fisted his hands.

"I thought your passion was something else" Dred teased.

"Yeah and that too." Ayaan winked chuckling.

"ASADDD!" All three of them turned hearing the loud roar; they swung their legs over and stood upright.

"The heck do you want JK" Ayaan questioned, ready for the impending attack. JK sniggered, he rolled up his sleeves.

"I have nothing to do with Han's dealings JK if that's what you want to know. I only fight for him. So waggle your tail and walk away." Asad waved him off and turned his back towards him.

"You work for Han, that is more than enough for this. Come on boys" JK stepped forward and grabbed Asad's shoulder but before he could spin him, Asad's fist came swaying beside him and landed on his ribs making him fall to his knees in pain. "Motherf**ker" He grunted jumping back on his feet and throwing punches. Asad blocked most of them but some hit their target. He winced at the pain not having healed from the wounds received the night before.

"You've pissed me off now." Asad barked, not in the mood to play with anyone.

"Zoya, that was a call from work. I gotta go." Amaya informed her putting her phone away. "We're at Jane's shop. It's just the next turn and then passed the bridge... your favourite bit. You going to be okay?" She asked worriedly.

"I'll be fine. I have been travelling these roads for over eighteen years. I'll be fine. Go." She smiled pushing her friend away.

"Okay, gosh. No-one appreciates anything nowadays." She rolled her eyes. "See you at home." Amaya ran back in the opposite way towards her workplace. Zoya sighed breathing in the fresh air. She loved Thursday mornings as the roads were less chaotic on those days. She couldn't hear much commotion today. All in the world was right for once. She reached beside her for the lamppost listening carefully before crossing the road and then turning left towards the bridge. She walked slowly making sure to remain against the wall; she could hear the water from where she was passing. She walked a bit faster towards the bridge with a smile adorned on her face; she loved standing in the middle of the bridge where the cool breeze passes through her. She loved it when she touched nature in one form or the other. Before she could register any noises of discomfort or a fight, she hit someone's side making her rebound backwards. Zoya shrieked stumbling a few steps back, she panted heavily being able to hear curses and grunts of a few men, she tried to step away from them but she hit someone else. She dropped her handbag not understanding what was happening before someone grabbed her wrist and yanked her away. She gasped in panic going spinning forward, she felt someone's hand support her waist as she drew uneven breaths with her body half bent forward.

"What the hell, are you crazy?" She heard the man's rough voice tear through the panic rising inside her. She stood upright, her hair covering her face. The man let go of her waist slowly, Zoya took a few hesitant steps back and almost fell misplacing a step. She felt the same hands go around her waist and hold her up. Her hands grabbed his shirt for support. She blinked a few times, her throat felt dry; her heart thudded loudly inside of her.

"I'm sorry..." She whispered softly, her voice was low.

"I think the word you're looking for is Thank you." Asad smiled at her, his eyes ran over her innocent face. Her eyes were emerald green, her skin was so fair, she did not have an ounce of make up on her face but she was still one of the most attractive woman he has ever set eyes on. Her deep brown hair framed her face perfectly as most of it swung below her. He admired the vintage knee length chiffon dress on her; it had all sorts of flowers on it. He lifted her slowly making sure she stood right.

"Be careful" He warned her before turning around and blocking the punch that was coming his way. He raised his knee into his face before throwing him back. He ran over towards Ayaan and helped him up before elbowing the guy coming for him. He turned around and saw the guys storming towards her in an attempt to run away from them. "MOVEEE" He shouted at her demonstrating his hand in front of him but she stood facing in one direction. He ran towards her and grabbed her hand to move her out of the way. Both of his hands wrapped around her protectively as he spun around a few times with her. Zoya held her hands against her chest protectively; her breath hitched being wrapped around a strong wall of muscles. She could smell his aftershave and blood. She could also feel his sweat against her cheek. He slowly pulled away from her before grabbing her shoulders and shaking her.
"Are you crazy? Can you not see that they were going to stampede all over you? " He yelled at her in frustration. Zoya's dry lips parted but no words came out. He used his indent finger to poke the side of her head. "Use your head next time. You could have gotten hurt." He stared at her waiting for her to reply but her eyes remained on his chest. "Are you listening to me? f**k, don't tell me you've gone into shock. Hello" He waved his hand in front of her.

"Thank you." Zoya said softly tucking her hair back. She felt numb, all her senses were running over one another in a frenzy.

"Thank you?" Asad snapped.

"ZOYAAA!" A young woman ran towards her frantically before pushing Asad away and grabbing her into a hug. "Oh babygirl, you're okay." She rubbed her back to soothe her.

"I'm fine Safrina." Zoya whispered softly. Asad watched her eyes glisten with unshed tears, he tried to move his eyes off her but he couldn't. Not once has she looked in his direction, either she was too scared of him or too ashamed of her actions. Stupid girl. She seriously could have gotten hurt. How on earth did she not see the fight and walk right into it?

"Come on, let's get you inside the shop. Too many thugs about." Safrina shot Asad a disgusted look, Asad rolled his eyes. He didn't care what anyone thought of him. Before he could speak to the other girl, Safrina wrapped her around her shoulders and guided her around Asad.

"Safrina, my bag fell somewhere here." Zoya informed her friend. Asad looked on confused as the bag lay a feet away from her in plain sight.

"One second." Safrina let go of her and picked it up before walking back towards her. "Let's go, I've got the bag." She watched Zoya reach out for the bridge wall before following it forward. Asad wiped the blood from his forehead with the back of his hands. He stilled finding the girl turn around and smile.

"Thank you." She shouted at him.

"You're welcome." He shouted back at her.

"Why are you thanking him for" Asad shot Safrina a dark look, she closed her mouth and grabbed hold of her friend and took her away into the nearest florist shop.

"Who was that chick bro?" Ayaan panted staring into the distant at the shop.

"I don't know." He shrugged his shoulders.

"That's Zoya." Dred told them.

"Yeah we all know that." Ayaan rolled his eyes. "That other chick practically announced it to the whole village." Asad ignored his friends as he stared at the shop intently, not being able to forget those eyes and her angelic face.

"Forget it bro. She looks too innocent for you." Ayaan placed his hand over his shoulder. Yeah, she was too innocent for a thug like him. She was light and he was darkness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Safrina looked up hearing the doorbell jingle; she was surprised to find the guys from the bridge entering the shop. She watched their eyes widen seeing the mass display of flowers around the shop, decorated by Zoya. She straightened her back and crossed her arms, raising her brow to make a point.

"Can I speak to the worker here?" Asad asked her awkwardly, Ayaan and Dred fixed their collars looking around the shop in awe.

"I'm the worker here." Safrina answered narrowing her eyes at him.

"Manager?" He tried again, Safrina didn't back down. Her lips twitched.

"I am the manager" She smirked. Asad pressed his temples in frustration.

"For f**k's sake, what's left. Owner?" Ayaan snapped from behind Asad. Asad looked over his shoulder, Ayaan faded into the background.

"Zoyaaa! You have a visitor!" Safrina shouted loudly, without removing her gaze away from him. Her eyes ran over the huge male in front of her, dressed in blue jeans and a black shirt. The sleeves were rolled up to his elbow revealing his tight muscles. She noticed a tattoo starting on the left side of his chest from the two buttons he left undone on his shirt. She had no doubt what that shirt covered underneath; she could see the defined outlines of his abs. More tattoos were peeking from his right arm. He was the hottest man she had ever set eyes on.

"Sorry sorry, give me a second" Zoya's voice came from the other side of the room, Asad turned towards her soft melodious voice. His eyes grew small trying to sneak peeks of her back through the bundle of flowers on the table. He watched her turn around and make her way through the maze of flowers, she was holding a bouquet of roses in her hands hiding her face. He drew a breath as she lowered it to reveal her face, dressed in a black maxi dress with spaghetti straps; her hair was left out in natural waves flowing effortlessly over her shoulder. He could see yellow flowers pinned in her hair, she was glowing. Again, not a speck of makeup on her face but she looked breathtakingly beautiful. He felt his heart rate speed through the roof.
"This one is done" She placed the bouquet on the table; he was disappointed not finding an ounce of recognition on her face as she ran her eyes past him. "Who's the visitor?" She whisper yelled at Safrina placing her hand over her mouth, Asad watched her amused.

"Thugs from the other day" Safrina replied blowing her nails.

"Safrina, behave. They were no thugs." Zoya frowned at her friend. Asad coughed to get her attention, she faced him suddenly.

"I wanted to apologise for the other day..." Asad started, Zoya shook her head recognising his voice.

"Oh no, don't apologise. I should be thanking you for helping me. I could have gotten hurt, you were right I didn't see them coming, I don't know what happened to my senses, I froze" Zoya shivered remembering his touch; she felt something inside her that stirred with her senses. She smiled at him, Asad followed her gaze over his shoulder, he felt uncomfortable finding her eyes on Ayaan.

"I shouldn't have been so rude to you."

"You were right. Honestly. Thank you for telling me off." Asad couldn't help but smile back at her. He watched her nose twitch before she stretched her hand forward. Ayaan and Dred froze with their silent battle before focusing on Zoya's outstretched hand. "I'm Zoya..." Asad ran his eyes over her hand before going back to her face. He felt like someone had punched him in the guts and he was struggling for oxygen. He watched her eager face, that smile refusing to move off her lips as she waited for him to take her hand. He swallowed hard before slowly looking at Safrina to confirm what he was thinking. She nodded at him, her expressions soft. "I know you're still here, don't tell me you don't shake hands." She teased, Asad ran his fingers through his hair before taking a step towards his left and coming face to face with her. He took her small delicate hands with his larger one and shook it.

"I'm Asad." He smiled before placing his other hand and capturing hers between both of his.

"Nice to meet you Asad. Do your friends have names too." She tilted her head towards Ayaan and Dred.

"Ayaan." Ayaan pushed Asad out of the way and took her hand. "You are absolutely beautiful."

"And I'm Dred. I'm the handsome one out of them." Dred moved Ayaan out of the way before taking her into a hug and lifting her up. Zoya giggled at his enthusiasm. "Sorry, I'm a hug person." He put her down and turned around with a sloppy grin on his face. Asad glared at him.

"Oh I'm sure you must be sweetheart." Zoya gave him a beaming smile, Dred sighed before playing his eyebrows at his friends. "Would you guys like something to drink?" She asked them all. Ayaan came forward but Asad shook his head in a no.

"No thank you, we have to get going." Asad replied firmly, his tone of voice warning his friends.

"Oh no problem. Do come again." Zoya's hand traced the side of the table before walking around it. She grabbed three roses and came back around. "These are for you." She held the three roses out towards them, Asad took them from her making sure to hold her hand for a second too long. Zoya felt something from his touch, Asad captured every inch of her face in his eyes before walking out of the shop. Zoya waved hearing the jingle.

"She's sweet. I like her." Dred announced once outside the shop.

"She's full of happiness yo." Ayaan patted Asad's shoulder who was silent since they left the shop.

"She cannot see." Asad said softly, "But she was a lot of light in her man. I don't know why but... I feel this weird connection with her, her touch" He looked at his hands. "I should stay away from her..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

I should stay away from her.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

Asad threw one last punch before holding the punching bag still; he took deep breaths to calm down. He closed his eyes; sweat fell from his forehead like he had just come out of a shower. His heart slowly steadied seeing those emerald green eyes sparkling back at him, her twitching nose and those soft pink lips.

"Zoya Zoya Zoya" Ayaan danced around the room singing her name out loud, Asad grunted placing his forehead against the bag. "Zoya, Oh Darling Zoyaaa" He sang in a high pitched voice.

"I swear Ayaan, the next time you're going to sing is in your grave to your buddies in the graveyard if you do not shut up." Asad threatened in his calm voice.

"You should take some flowers and go make her your friend." Dred flipped through the magazine stretching his legs out on the coffee table.

"She's a florist." Ayaan remarked.

"Yeah so?" Dred shrugged, "She gives people flowers, or sell them whatever. When do you think the last time someone must have gifted her some?"

"You are one smartass MF" Ayaan said impressed. "Asad bro, you should take her flowers."

"And do WHATTT??" Asad growled throwing the punching bag away and turned around towards his friends.

"Chill out yaar. We were just-"

"WHAAAT?" He raised his brow, unwrapping the white bandages from his hands.

"You may be involved in all this shit but you are a good guy Asad." Dred spoke in a serious tone. "You wanted to get out of Han's clutches, she could be your motivation to finally get out of it." Asad's hand stilled, he looked up at his friend.

"I'm not good for her." Asad continued unwrapping and threw the first blood stained wrap in the bin.

"You may look like a criminal bro, but you have a soft heart. At least she won't judge you via your appearance." Ayaan threw in his two cents. Asad looked down at the tattoos on his bare chest.

"Yo, stop acting like a girl and go to her. Get to know her. Give her flowers and shit... and then live happily ever after." Dred went back to his magazine. Asad kicked his legs off the coffee table and headed for the showers.

Zoya sipped her coffee sitting on the table outside the shop. She sighed taking in the fresh air and soaking the warmth from the sun. She loved days like this; she liked listening to her surroundings. She hummed separating the orchids and snipping the edges off them. She placed them into the small antique vase in front of her.

"Safrina, take your lunch break darling. It isn't busy. I'm going to sit out here." Zoya shouted from outside the shop. She heard Safrina reply and then minutes later emerged outside with her bag.

"You want anything for lunch?" Safrina asked. "Ohhh your favourite orchids." She smiled seeing Zoya arrange the orchids into a vase.

"No, I'm not hungry now. You go ahead lovely." Zoya waved her off before going back to her coffee. She heard footsteps in the distant making her face up. "Yes? Can I help you?" Zoya smiled. There was no reply but she heard the footsteps get closer and closer. "Asad?" She smiled instantly.

"Heyyy" He greeted her foolishly, rubbing the nape of his neck nervously. "How did you know it was me?" He sat down on a chair next to her. He admired her dressed in a white knee length cotton dress; her hair was braided to one side.

"You have your own scent." She blushed, her cheeks turning a shade of pink. He chuckled.

"My own scent?" He grinned.

"Weird combination of sandalwood, berries and something else I cannot quite figure out. But my mind has registered it as your scent." She placed her hand over her mouth, feeling embarrassed.

"You don't have to be embarrassed Zoya, I'm glad you recognised me." He told her.

"Even though I have lost my eye sight, most of my other senses are enhanced. It's how I carry on with my day to day to duties." She explained, her hands searched for the scissors. He reached for them and placed them near her. She smiled when her touch fell on them but then she paused. "What's that?" She touched the base of the object he placed on the table before caressing the flowers. "Sunflowers?" She creased her forehead in confusion.

"Right again. I brought them for you." He answered.

"Flowers for a florist?" She burst out laughing, Asad joined in with her admiring her laugh. She laughed so openly, so freely. Another trait added to the list of things he loved about her.

"Yeah, well... I was guessing someone should buy flowers FOR you." He justified himself.

"It is sweet. Thank you so much." Her hands caressed the flowers; Asad wondered how it would feel for her to caress him like that. The love and care she showed to the flowers amazed him, her every touch said something. This woman in front of him was like an open book, she wore her heart on her sleeves. Love, care and warmth come off her in waves and people lucky to be close to her get showered with it. She was definitely the light in this big dark world.

"Thank me after you find out my ulterior motive." Zoya shook her head and continued to separate the orchids. "I want you to become my friend?" Not seconds after the words left Asad's mouth he wondered how gay and eager it sounded. Since when did he start wanting to be friends with girls like this? This girl did not match his bad boy attitude.

"We are already friends Asad." She said softly, Asad's heart did something hearing the way she said his name.

"You don't know me Zoya." He felt protective of her; he wanted to protect her from himself. She shouldn't easily become friends with guys like him, not that he would let her be friends with anyone like him. Not if he can help it. Zoya reached out for his hand, Asad let the tips of his fingers touch hers before allowing her to hold it. He felt like a child under her touch craving for her to hold his hand and comfort him. "I'm not a good guy. You shouldn't become friends with a guy like me so easily." He knew he was pleading for the wrong party.

"You're a good person Asad." She faced him, "I know I cannot see you but I have felt your goodness. You helped me that day and you told me off for being careless. You have a lot of good in you Asad, I feel it." She smiled to reassure him and comfort him.

"What if I told you Safrina was right in saying that I'm a thug?" He asked her.

"Then I'll tell you that thugs don't buy sunflowers." She beamed at him.

"What if I deceive you?"

"It's a risk I'm willing to take with your friendship. Ayaan and Dred doing okay?" Asad observed her as she drifted off into a normal conversation with him like they have been friends forever. He leaned back against the chair and crossed his arms, a huge smile plastered on his face watching her, admiring her, capturing every detail of her. Her innocent voice, those long eyelashes, her soft lips, her mesmerising laugh, the care in her every touch, the grace in her every moment. She was being engraved into his heart and she didn't even know it. He felt guilty for feeling such things, but he couldn't deny that he was falling for her. Or maybe he already has. The day he held her in his arms. The moment he laid eyes on her, he knew he lost an integral part of him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Could you tell me where you are taking me Asad?" Zoya squeezed his hand; they had been walking for the past five minutes after parking his car in silence. He wasn't telling her anything.

"Few more minutes Zoya. Patience." He chuckled seeing her pouting.

"You know at times like this I wish I could see." Zoya joked, Asad froze on the spot making Zoya collide into him. "What, why did you stop." Her free hand traced his arm.

"You really wish that Zoya?" He let go of her hand and wrapped his arm around her waist. Zoya frowned feeling confused, her palm rested on his chest, she felt him shake under her touch.

"Wish for what?" Zoya whispered, his scent was intoxicating her, her heart was beating uncontrollably inside of her. Being held against his body was driving every one of her senses crazy. She could feel his warm breath over her face.

"Wish that you could see..." He stroked her cheek, Zoya leaned into his touch. She shook her head in a no.

"If I am honest..."

"Only honesty."

"No. I like living through your eyes. Standing here with you, wherever we are... everything feels so right. I feel safe. I can feel the world." She sighed. Asad pulled her towards him and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Zoya closed her eyes, pressing her forehead against his lips before he rested his forehead against hers. Asad closed his eyes.

"I'll always keep you safe. I promise to put the world at your feet." Zoya shook her head.

"I don't want the world Asad."

"What do you want Zoya?" He cupped her face. Zoya placed her hands over his before trailing them up his arm slowly and carefully, taking her time. Asad moved his head back and watched her. Her thumb stroked every inch of his skin, outlining his veins and his tight muscles before resting on his shoulder. She framed his neck with her hands stroking it softly, familiarising herself with every bit of him. She pulled herself closer towards him; he supported her waist allowing her to carry on with her ministrations. She trailed the back of her hands along his jawline before stroking his cheeks upwards with three of her fingers. Asad tried not to react to her soft caresses; he had never felt so delicate or so special. Her hands were exploring his every feature like he was art.

"I want to familiarise myself with every bit of you Asad." Zoya whispered, a lone tear escaped her eyes as she ran her hand over his forehead and then down his nose before resting on his lips. She brushed her thumbs over his lips.

"Well?" He grinned, she smiled feeling his lips twitch. He took both of her hands and held them flat against his cheeks.

"You feel perfect Asad" She spoke awestruck, his cheeks were defined, perfectly bow shaped upper lip and a full bottom lip.

"I'm going to kiss you Zoya, is that's okay with you."

"Yes." Zoya whispered and the word hung between them before she felt the warmth of his breath over her lips as he slowly aligned their lips. The feeling was so foreign and surreal to her. When his lips made contact with hers, all the sensations flooded her body. His lips brushed over hers a few times, teasing and coaxing before they puckered against hers one last time and pulled away. He took a deep breath, she felt him relax under his hands.

"I've been wanting to do that for months." He admitted to her. Zoya smiled shyly turning into a deep crimson. He pulled her against him; she rested her forehead against his chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around her and kissed the top of her head. He loved the way she fit perfectly in his arms; it was as if she was made to be in that position forever. He inhaled her scent, mixed berries and vanilla, oh he so loved that on her. It has been driving him insane for months and he could finally sniff her openly.
"You know what this means Zoya?" He looked down at her snuggling into his chest. She nodded at him. "You're my girl. My girl." He kissed her head again. Zoya smiled against his chest.

"I think Ayaan and Dred know that Asad. You made it clear to them that I was only your friend for the past few months." She laughed.

"You're more than my friend Zoya. You're my girl. Just mine." He cuddled her, relishing having her in his arms. He lifted her hand and placed it on his cheek. She caressed his cheek. "Do you know why we are here Zoya?" She hummed against his chest. "The sun is going to set..." She closed her eyes and allowed his voice to paint a picture of what the sun set looks like. She could feel his emotions as he described the colours... she could see him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Zoya, I'm off. I'll see you tomorrow." Safrina hugged her back and kissed her cheek.

"See you tomorrow. I need to finish these off before Asad gets here." Zoya wrapped the flowers in front of her.

"You both are so cute. He is so madly in love with you." Safrina told her. "And mad possessive regarding you." Safrina chuckled. Zoya nodded with a smile on her face.

"He is too good to me." Zoya sighed.

"I take back my thug comments." Safrina apologised. "Anyways, don't get too busy. See you tomorrow. Tell Amaya I said Hi."

"Will do." Zoya shouted back before hearing the door jingle. She walked back towards main desk hearing the phone ring. "Hello?" She held the phone in between her shoulder and ear. "Mrs Deen, the flowers arrived today. Sorry I had to change our supplier last minute. You can pick them up tomorrow. Yes. Thank you. Bye." Zoya placed the phone back in its place. She heard the door jingle again. "Yes, can I help you?" She called out into the silence, she heard footsteps nearing her.

"Actually, yes you can." She heard a man reply, his voice made her shiver.

"Oh aren't you beautiful." She heard another deep voice. Zoya shifted in her spot uncomfortably.

"Did you want to place an order?" Zoya found her voice. She heard one of them laugh.

"You're Asad's girl, aren't you?" She heard another ask. She fussed with the phone.

"I don't see how that is any of your business." Zoya snapped at him. "We are about to close, can you come back tomorrow morning if you want to place an order." Her shaky voice gave away her fear.

"That's the thing, you can't see." He sniggered, Zoya rubbed the nape of her neck feeling a rush of heat travel up her neck. "You are my business." His menacing laugh cracked through the air. Zoya flinched.

"Can. You. Please... Leave" Zoya moved away from the desk towards the table of flowers. She panted not knowing where they were or what they wanted.

"Your boy needs to be taught a lesson." The first guy threatened, Zoya cried when she felt someone grip her elbow. She tried to fight him off her, she squirmed in his hold.

"Let me go. Please..." Zoya begged clawing his arm,

"You bitch" The guy cursed letting go of her hand, Zoya flew backwards and landed on her ass. She whimpered crawling backwards not knowing where she was going.

"Asad." Zoya cried, the men laughed at her. She felt the guy stand on her toes, she shrieked loudly. He kneeled in front of her and waved his hand in front of her playfully. Zoya remained facing in one direction, her lips quivering. She snapped his hand away when she felt him tucking her hair back. "No no" She cried as the guy pulled at one of the straps on her dress which teared, she could feel the cold air hit her bare chest. Her shaky hands went over her chest to hold that end of the dress up.

"JKKK!" She heard Asad roar somewhere in the background before the room filled with loud grunts and thumps. She continued to crawl backwards before hitting her back against the wall; she wrapped her hands around herself. She placed her forehead against her elbows and cried.

"Zoya?" She heard his shaky voice; she moved her face upwards with trembling lips. "Zoya?" He moved closer towards her, Asad winced seeing her shaking under the table crouched into a ball. "Baby" He touched her feet, he watched as the tears fell from her eyes continuously. "It's me... Asad."He placed his hand on her elbow, she flinched under his touch. "Baby, it's me..." He leaned forward and allowed her hand to touch his face. She stilled for a moment before her face flashed in recognition, he pulled her thighs to slide her out from under the table and into his arms. She broke into a sob.

"Asad. Those guys..."

"You're safe. It's okay." He caressed her back placing soft kisses in her hair. She tightened her grip around him burying herself in him. "I got you. I got you love." He whispered. He slowly picked her up once she stopped crying and wiped her tears away. He fisted his hand seeing the strap of her dress torn revealing her polka dot bra, he looked away grinding his teeth together as the anger in him slowly built up making him wince. He removed his jacket and wrapped it around her tightly. He cupped her face and kissed her forehead. "Let's get you home." He snaked his arm around her waist protectively and guided her out of the shop before locking it.

"Are you hurt?" He helped her out of the car and stood outside of her house. He held her shoulders, trying to keep himself together seeing her state. "Did he..." His phone started ringing. "Give me one second."
"Han" Asad spoke into the phone, Zoya shivered at his tone of voice. "I'm going to take the fight. The last fight. I'm going to win this and leave. That's my condition."

"What if you lose?" Han smirked.

"I never lose." Asad spoke cockily. "I am undefeated."

"So is he. We both know only one person will come out of this fight alive." Han reminded him.

"I'm going to win this Han. If not, I'm going to die trying. I've had enough of this, enough of you. I want OUTTT" Asad spoke bitterly before hanging up.

"Asad..." He closed his eyes hearing her voice. He slowly turned towards her, her tear stricken face made his insides ache. He watched her hands sway trying to reach him, he stepped forward towards her. "Asad, what was that?" She gripped his arms pulling him closer towards her. He tucked her hair behind her ears before caressing her face.

"I'm going to do something for us Zoya. I'm taking my last illegal fight and then I'm out. I'm going to win that fight and then we will be set. I will be free of them." He informed her, Zoya shook her head in a no.

"Illegal fight? Asad... you said something about dying. Please, honestly tell me, what was all that about?"

"Only one of us will survive this fight." Zoya stumbled back a few steps, her mouth opened wide in shock. She whimpered.

"No" She shook her head furiously, "You can't do this Asad."

"I'm not a good guy Zoya. I told you that. This is my chance to be clean of them... they hurt you today. I need to do this. Because I don't know whether the next time anything like this happens whether I will be able to control myself. It's either this or I will hunt every one of them down and put a bullet through their head." Zoya gasped.

"No, Asad" She cried.

"You're the light to my dark life Zoya." He pecked her lips before placing a kiss on her forehead. Zoya tried reaching for him but he jumped out of the way. He fisted his hands as he watched her helplessly search for him.

"Asad... don't go... I beg you... you" She spun around. "Asad..." She tried to reach from him; he brushed his tears away and entered the car before driving away. He knew if he looked back, he wouldn't be able to leave her. He looked into the rear view mirror and braked harshly. The car jerked to a stop. He ran his hands down his face.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He furiously wrapped his hands with the training bandages. Zoya's face flashed before his eyes as he tightened it further. With one swift move, he pulled his tee shirt over his head and threw it across the room. He could hear the crowd roaring outside, his heart thudded inside of him. He took deep breaths coming face to face with the punching bag.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

She is my life.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

I love her.

Asad continued to throw punches when he heard the door to his room open. He grabbed hold of the punching bag.

"I thought I said I wanted no-one in here before the fight." He barked, his nose flaring in anger.

"Bro, you have a visitor." Dred informed him.

"I don't care. Get rid of him." Asad closed his eyes.

"That's rude Asad." He heard her voice. He spun around and found Zoya standing in the middle of the room.

"Zoya" He whispered softly, Dred grinned.

"We'll be outside." Dred informed her before leaving the two lovebirds. Asad closed the distance between them and cocooned her in his arms.

"You shouldn't be here. This stuff is dangerous." He told her.

"I am safe if you're here." She pulled back from him placing both of her hands flat on his bare chest. She could feel his heartbeat matching her own. She reached for his face and pulled it towards her. He came towards her willingly; he was slave to her every command. She owned his heart, mind, body and soul.

"Whatever happens today..."

"You will come back to me." She whispered softly, "You are not a bad guy Asad." She held his cheek against hers, "I may be blind to the world but I see you Asad." She kissed his ears before resting nose to nose against him. He kissed her tears away. "When you're in that ring, remember that amongst all those beating hearts, it yours inside me that will be beating the loudest." She placed a kiss on his chest over his heart. "And my heart that is inside of you, don't let anything happen to it." She reached for his lips and played her fingers over them before reaching for them with her own. He dipped his head to make it easier for her.

"I love you." He confessed against her lips before kissing her cheeks and her forehead. "I'll be seeing you." He teased into her ears, Zoya smiled. Asad touched his hands together and bounced in front of her. He walked towards the door and opened it to find Ayaan and Dred.

"Orchids Asad." Zoya shouted at him. He looked back confused.

"Orchids?"

"I love Orchids. For future reference." She tucked loose strands of hair behind her ears, shyly. Asad smirked at her.

"Got it." He saluted her in his playful tone.

"I love you!" Dred and Ayaan hooted in the background, Asad ran inside the room and pecked her lips lifting her up with one arm and spinning with her. Zoya threw her head back and laughed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One year later...

"Come here baby..." Asad whispered into her ears before kissing the soft spot under her ears. Zoya smiled hearing her husband's voice. She felt him place something in her lap.

"Hey sweetheart. You're home." She reached for his face before bringing it closer to hers. She inhaled his scent and kissed his lips softly. "Sun flowers today?" She picked up the bouquet and placed it on the table.

"Yes. Because you brighten up my day like sunflowers." He helped her out of the kitchen chair before walking her towards the back garden. Zoya laughed at her husband's attempt at praise. He always reminded her that she was the light in his life, when he was the one that brought her out of darkness. He attached her to his side and looked into the distant; their beautifully decorated garden was filled with all sorts of flowers and plants.

"Today is such a beautiful day." Zoya sighed. She placed her head on his chest and closed her eyes. His hand went over her growing belly before spreading it flat and keeping it there.

"The sun is about to set." He whispered kissing her forehead. "I see the trees shaded..." He described everything he could see in the distant.

"I only see you Asad. Only you." She told him. She felt his feathery kisses over her eyes.
