Since this forum no longer has DOTW, I like to do it now and then. Last time, I made a discussion on whether we will ever marry a mamma's boy. This time the topic is whether being a dark-skinned girl really a big sin? This topic is inspired from Nikhat's issue. I know this issue passed long ago in Season 1 but I don't care as long as its related to Qubool Hai😆. In Qubool Hai, we saw how Nikhat was always insulted, taunted, degraded due to her skin tone. Her fiance Imraan who claimed to love her never stood for her. Nikhat still did not hated him for not supporting her. No one except Ayaan supported Nikhat in her house by getting angry and fighting for her sometimes. My skin tone is somewhat between medium and dusky so I am not much dark. But I was comparatively darker from now having dark brown skin tone from the time I was 10-11 year olds to my mid-teens. During those times, sometimes I was commented by some classmates for being kaali which used to hurt me a lot. But there were some students who were more darker than me. During my mid-teens or when I turned adult, my skin got some tones lighter. Still, I am dark than many people. Now, I don't care much about my skin tone as its not much dark. But when I am out, my skin gets darker after some hours as my skin is sensitive and little oily. So, I get worried sometimes. Enough of talking about myself and coming back to the topic. If you have dark-skin do you really get worried and what do you do if someone comments on you? Will you marry someone in the house that comments on your skin tone and your so called love not supporting you? Will you tolerate all the insults and marry that man so as not to hurt your family? Nicole Faria not only won the title of Miss India Earth in 2010 but also wnt on to win Miss Earth in the competition among all Miss Earths of all the world and she said that her dusky skin is the winner. Scarlett Rose who was the winner of Splitsvilla 7 was the only dark contestant among the girls and she went on to do modelling and some shows. So, is having dark-skin really that bad or we should be proud of ourselves?

Your Post is sweet and thoughtful 😊 ..I find a darker, wheatish or tan complexion more attractive than fairer ones!..imo makeup sets really well on that skin tone rather than fairer ones :)...But yes people r of this opinion that a girl should be fair 🥱 🤔 ..

But its definitely not a Sin..Almighty has made everyone beautifully..Be it fair or dark..One should be proud of what she/he had and Ignore the rest 😎

its not sin but sadly many people still exist who does not treat dark skinned girl well. many men want to marry pretty tall fair girls. so girls want to marry handsome rich tall boys. sadly ppl dont consider personality. most ppl do this including me. it will take a long time to change. and indian tv show makers should not make mockery of such sensitive social issue in name of social message coz they actually care for trp not message. shows like Balika Badhu Diya Bati Udan sometimes goes so disgusting. they actually dont show the message and how it can be changed. rather they drags the issue forever in disgusting way always showing evil winning. i remember there was a show on zeetv afsar batiya. on this topic. i heard they did good and ended the show rather dragging it.

People think that girls must be fair , beautiful , have perfect body , perfect legs and all , if they want this all then they must go and buy Barbie.

Or give us a guy who is like zayn Malik.

People expect a lot. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.

And people who differentiate between white and black or dark color are such racist.

I'm a fair person that doesn't mean I would treat others badly? I don't. I hated the way Haseena used to treat nikhat , check her color , give her fair and lovely and all.

it definitely is sin. I am always compared with in my family and their friends. sometimes I do feel suffocated but then I tell they don't know me n I am better than them. I can't have such bizarre mind and thought. I happy for what I am right now

Great topic.
Its NOT a sin. Allah has made every human being beautiful. Everyone are different but still beautiful. But our society is so harsh and i hate mentality of people who look down upon dark/dusky people. God has made us. If someone is fair and beautiful, then there is nothing to be proud of ,she/he did not made themselves. I think the important thing is interior beauty which lies in your heart and character.
I am also fair but still i find dusky people very attractive.
