TOI: Was Harshad Chopda dropped from Qubool Hai at Additis behest?

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. A saying that comes to mind relating an incident involving actress Additi Gupta, currently in Qubool Hai.

How ? The makers of the show were on a desperate hunt to lock in a replacement for Karanvir Bohra, who plays Aahil. This was before the actor decided to stay back on the show. Among the many names approached for the role was Harshad Chopda, who was last seen in the same production house's Humsafars.


But we hear that it was at Additi's behest that the actor was ruled out as soon as he was approached. Apparently, she put her foot down about considering him for the part. For those in the dark, the two were rumoured to be a couple in the past, and were paired in the show 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil', with which Additi made her debut on television. The short-lived romance ended on a bitter note with Harshad moving on in life. A source associated with the show informs, "Additi doesn't want to share the screen with Harshad. She informed the production house of her decision and that's how Harshad was ruled out."

Both Additi and Harshad didn't revert to our text messages.

last year on 11 feb 2014 they gave a joint iv together on sbs on fan requesr who wish too see them together onscreen.

And harshad is a great actor who will not step into somebody else's shoes and honestly he has had enough of this production.

ppl spread this baseless rumours everytime...once during daastaan it was said harshad rejected brkd offer but that again is not true

One thing this article makes clear is that they were looking for a replacement for KV's role as Aahil! But considering that Shaad was supposed to be the lead of Season 3, why do they need a new Aahil?

I don't know about this. But Harshad is not fool enough to step into a character which has been already established by another actor. Besides this in an interview he did say that he didn't get what he was promised for in Humsafars. And he doesn't blame PH as it gets necessary to change the storyline sometimes due to trps. Some TT Article it was I guess

I am not surprised with the article. It's 80% true.

BTW Sahil1 fans should thank their stars 🤣 If HC had been cast as Aahil then their fans WOULD have made Sahil2 the real couple by making Sanam2 become un-daayanized 🤣 and Aahil really falling and choosing her. 😆

And by the way, the reason no established actor would take it up? It's because they know it wouldn't work no matter how good an actor and big an actor they are. It would only help a little bit, but nothing more, nothing less.
