The Truth About Everything

This was a very important day for Sanam. In the Kohinoor Party she needs to expose Tanveer's dirty acts. As soon as she had rushed into the party, she had immediately asked her sister Haya to send Aahil to her so that they could have a talk. Unfortunately, Tanveer got a hint that Sanam was here and she did whatever she could to stop Aahil from meeting Sanam. She went to meet Sanam instead.

As soon as Sanam heard the sound of footsteps, a wide smile came across her lips and she turned around. She was shocked when she found out that it was not Aahil but his mother standing there instead. "You?" she asked, obviously taken by surprise by Tanu's appearance.

"Of course, hon" Tanveer replied, with that evil grin of hers. "Were you expecting someone else..?" she asked, as if she didn't already know the answer.

Sanam ignored her and tried walking past her. "Stop!" Tanveer said as she took Sanam's hand in a tight grip.

Sanam's eyes were wide as she said, "Please let go of me, it hurts!"

"Do you think I care??" Tanveer hissed at her, as she pulled Sanam back in front of her.

"Look girl, you'll have to sign that paper anyhow.. so why are you wasting yours and my time?" Tanveer said.

"I won't" Sanam whispered, just loud enough for Tanveer to hear.

Sanam saw the rage that took over Tanveer just then. "Sanam look, you are nothing in comparison to Aahil, I suggest you leave him alone."

"No" Sanam replied back firmly. "What would you know about love? I will not leave the person I love, not until my last breath." "You couldn't even stay loyal to the person you called your son. In fact, you killed his father!"

"What- you-" Tanveer stumbled upon her words, shock taking over her on hearing what Sanam had just said. "How do you know this, Sanam?"

"I-"

"No matter, now that you know let me tell you that if you utter a single word against me, then I will not spare Aahil or your life" Tanveer said, interrupting Sanam. "The choice is yours."

Tanveer waited patiently for Sanam's answer, but Sanam only left the place without saying anything further.

As Tanveer sensed that Sanam had left, she picked up her phone. Either way she would have to kill Sanam. This girl knew too much, which wasn't good for herself.

"Kill Sanam." Those were the two words she spoke into the phone. Immediately after that she hung up and walked out of the room. She had to go see what Aahil and Sanam were up to.

As soon as Tanveer left the room, Sunehri and Rehaan come out from behind the cabinet they were hiding in. They had heard everything.

"Sunehri, we have to save your sister" Rehaan told her. Sunehri looked back into his eyes and nodded, remembering how she had found out the truth (flashback):

"Got it?" Razia asked Sunehri. "You are to take Sanam's place."

"Yes yes old woman, I got it all in my head" Sunehri replied coolly. Razia was getting on her nerves. As Sunehri noticed Razi observing her, she snapped, "Now leave! How long are you going to stand here and stare at me?"

"You know, you look exactly like your mother" Razia told her.

Sunehri who was patiently waiting for Razia to leave with her eyes closed, immediately snapped open her eyes. "What did you say, Paan ki Dukaan?"

Hearing these words of Sehr, Razia came back to her senses. "No, I mean nothing." Razia fumbled with her words. Sehr wasn't convinced and sensed something fishy.

"Okay whatever, you go" Sunehri said gesturing for Razia to leave. Razia let out a sigh, which didn't go unnoticed by Sunehri. As Razia left, Sunehri decided to do a little bit of exploring.

She was just turning around just when she saw a lady wearing a burkha and sitting in a wheelchair. Dilshad's hand was outstretched towards Sunehri.

She didn't know why, but she immediately felt a connection between herself and that lady. She took slow steps towards the person who was actually her grandmother.

She lifted up the cloth so that she could see the person's face and saw tears rolling down Dilshad's face. Sunehri smiled at her kindly. "Anything wrong??" she asked Dilshad smoothly.

Dilshad just shook her head and wrapped her arms around Sunehri. Sunehri was surprised but she felt indulged to hug the elderly lady back.

Once, they pulled out of their embrace, Sunehri once again asked her, "Anything wrong??"

Dilshad tried to speak but no words came out. Sehr..' she mouthed.

Sunehri was getting very confused with every passing moment. "Oh I see.. you can't talk!"

Dilshad nodded and she motioned with her hands to bring a paper and pen.

Sunehri agreed and returned with a notepad and pen. She handed it over to Dilshad, who started scribbling on the paper furiously.

Sunehri patiently waited for the lady to finish writing.

Once Dilshad was finished she handed the notepad to Sunehri and rolled away in her wheelchair.

Sunehri watched Dilshad go away before she started reading what Dilshad had written.

" Dear Sehr" Sunehri read out loud. "Why is she calling me that?" she wondered. She continued reading aloud. " I am your grandmother Dilshad. I know that you must be doubting me but believe me, it's the truth. I will explain more to you about it later. Also, you have a twin sister named Sanam. It's the very girl you are thinking of replacing. Please don't do this with your sister."

Sunehri was shocked at what she had just read and she reread the letter to make sure that it was indeed true.

She was just standing there with tear filled eyes when Rehaan came over and asked, "Sanam, you alright?"

Sunehri just closed her eyes and handed Rehaan the letter. After reading the letter, he understood that it was not Sanam but Sunehri or he should say Sehr. "Sunehri?" Rehaan asked to confirm his doubts. Sunehri nodded to let Rehaan know that it was her. "Sanam is your sister" Rehaan mumbled in amazement.

"I want to go see Sanam" Sunehri said at once. Rehaan who had apparently forgotten his and Sunehri's fight at that moment nodded and together they both set off to find Sanam.

That was when they had heard Sanam and Tanveer's conversation and the part where Tanveer ordered the goons to kill Sanam.

End of flashback

"We have to save Sanam" Sunehri told Rehaan, as if it were the most obvious thing to do.

Rehaan nodded and pulled Sunehri along with him. He had no time to be ashamed of his mother. It was time for some action at last. Especially, when it involved his love Sunehri.

Meanwhile, Razia sneaked in switched the papers. She took Tanveer's papers and replaced them with the ones saying that the Ibrahim property would now be Razia's. Razia laughed evilly as she ripped Tanveer's papers apart.

"Now, the whole of Ibrahim Properties will be mine" Razia beamed.

"Sanam, Aahil, it's time for you guys to sign the papers!!" Tanveer exclaimed a few minutes later. She held out the papers for them to take and sign. Aahil hesitantly took it and signed them without reading it over. All the while, he was constantly sneaking glances at his wife. "Here" he told her gently, as he handed her the pen. Sanam smiled nervously and put down her signature with shaking hands. Aahil didn't fail to notice that.

"Sanam.." Aahil began to say, as soon as the papers were signed and the crowd had began chit-chatting again. "You alright..?"

"SANAM!!!!"

And before Sanam could make sense of what was going on, Sunehri was in front of her, blocking her. Sanam covered her ears as she heard a gunshot. "Sanam!" Aahil said worriedly as he saw the tense look on Sanam's face. Sanam opened her eyes and pointed at Sunehri. She was shocked to see her identical unconscious on the floor in a pool of blood. This identical had just saved her life. But why?

Aahil just looked from Sanam to Sehr in shock, but Sanam bent down and started to shake Sunehri. "Aahil" she said looking back up at him. "Please call the ambulance- look no time for questions, just please!" Breaking out of his trance, Aahil nodded and fished his phone out of his pocket.

"Sunehri!!!" came the cry of Rehaan as he came running to her. He had lost sight of her as she had dashed at fast speed in front of a gun to save her sister.

Rehaan pushed Sanam out of the way as he bent down to Sunehri. "Sunehri" he sobbed. He patted her on the cheek gently. "Get up Sunehri" he pleaded. He placed his forehead onto hers and just stayed that way, and crying. He couldn't see his love in that state.

"Rehaan.." Aahil said. "Rehaan, the ambulance is here. Please let go of.. Sunehri" Aahil finished off. With much difficulty Sanam and Aahil managed to pull Rehaan back so the hospital guys could take Sunehri into the ambulance van. "Only one person is allow-" a nurse began to say. "Me!" Rehaan said immediately, and he jumped in to sit besides Sunehri. "Doctor hurry!" he yelled.

-*-

"Sehr, are you fine?" Sanam asked kindly, tears threatening to come out of her eyes. It had been two days since Sehr had been admitted to the hospital and just last night Sehr had come conscious. Sehr had told Sanam all about them being sisters. It was a shocking but a happy feeling for Sanam at the same time.

"Yes sis, I am fine!!" Sehr insisted. "Aahil, please tell your wife na.. to stop fretting!!"

"Who am I to tell her that?" Aahil asked with a chuckle. "She's your sister na.. and you guys have only met, how can you not be able to handle her already?!"

"Jiju, you know Sanam a lot better than I do" Sehr pointed out.

"Hmm.. that's true" Aahil responded as he looked at Sanam. "She really loves arguing, so you'll just have to get used to that, Sehr."

"Aahil!" Sanam said, pouting. When would her husband stop teasing her!

"Sunehri, here's some juice for.." Rehaan trailed off as he entered the room. He paused as he saw Aahil and Sanam sitting around Sehr.

He just smiled on seeing the happy family. "We'll leave you and your boyfriend alone, then" Aahil told Sehr with a smirk on his face.

Sanam gasped and gave her sister an apologetic look. Aahil could be so silly sometimes!

Once Sanam and Aahil had left, Rehaan immediately took his spot by Sehr. "Sunehri, you don't know how much I have been worried for you." he told her, as he took hold of her hand.

Sehr placed her other hand on top of his and squeezed it. "You know Rehaan, today I really wish you would say those three words to me."

Rehaan just looked back into her innocent eyes. "Really?" he asked her. "Have you forgiven me for just abandoning you like that?"

"Have you forgiven me for all those lies that I told you??" Sehr asked Rehaan.

Rehaan let out a small laugh. "I guess we're even then" he said.

"I guess" Sunehri responded with a smile. Sunehri just looked at him, as if she were waiting for him to say something.

Rehaan took a deep breath and looked into her eyes. "For me you'll always be my Sunehri" he began to say. He kissed her hand softly, before he went on. "Sunehri, I- yes, I love you."

Rehaan was surprised to see that tears were rolling down Sehr's face even before he had finished saying those three words.

"Rehaan" she cried, as she blushed a little. She hid her face in his chest. "Thank you so much for coming into my life.. you don't know how much you mean to me." "You're like the first person in my life to be loved by me."

As Rehaan listened to her, he suddenly felt special. He had always felt unlucky and unloved by his mother, but Sunehri was someone whole different. She made him feel like the man. šŸ˜†

He put his hand on the back of her head as he caressed her hair. "I love you Sunehri."

"Here Aahil take these papers" Razia said.

Outside in the hallway of the hospital, Razia was standing before Aahil Ibrahim and handing him the property papers that she had snatched from Tanveer. Tanveer had been shocked to know that Razia was the owner of the property now.

Aahil raised an eyebrow, waiting for Razia to elaborate. Razia looked at Sanam and said, "Tanveer killed your parents, Haya's mom, and your grandfather aka my husband, you know."

Sanam and Aahil gasped on hearing. Both of course because of different reasons. "What on earth-"

"Shut up Aahil" Razia said holding a finger up. "It's time that I talk to Sanam, and ONLY Sanam. She's got to know a few things."

Sanam closed her eyes as Razia told her EVERYTHING from the start. All about Zoya and Asad, and how Tanveer had killed them.

Aahil just placed his arm around Sanam to keep her from falling to the ground.

"I don't believe that my mother would do that" Aahil said at the end.

Razia looked at Sanam and motioned for her to speak.

Unable to meet Aahil's eyes, Sanam said, "Well, Aahil she can do that. In fact, she did do that." "In fact, Aahil she was the one who murdered your father."

"Sanam, I know that you're in shock but-"

"Aahil, I have proof" Razia said interrupting both of them. "I am not dumb, many times when Tanveer and I talk, I end up recording it all just to use it on Tanveer some day.

Aahil regretted ever loving and trusting his mother, once they were through listening to the recordings.

"Where is she?" Aahil asked Razia.

"She's gone" Razia said with the wave of her hand. "Gone for now, but I wouldn't bet that she is ashamed of her deeds, not at all."

"One question" Sanam said. "Why did you give us back the property papers??"

"Because when I got them, I realized that the only thing I had ever wanted was to take revenge on Tanveer for killing my husband and insulting me" Razia said simply.

Sanam nodded and they all just stood there for minutes and minutes. No one uttered a single word.

"Now, you both know about Tanveer and.. just everything!" Razia said, finally breaking the silence. "So now, if Tanveer were to ever come back, Aahil, Sanam, you guys are both prepared."

Aahil nodded. There was this relief in his heart that he had not harmed his father a bit, but this emptiness that no one would be able to fill in his heart. Ever. The empty feeling of a lost mother. He would never feel the same way again.

He turned to Sanam. "Sanam.." he said, as tears were rolling down both of their faces. "We have to.. we have to begin a new life."

When Sanam said nothing, he asked, "Do you agree, Sanam? Shall we just forget everything and move on?"

Sanam fell into Aahil's arms and whispered, "Yes Aahil." "I am ready to begin a new life with you."
